What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Pros: Great diode for DIY. Its pretty hard to find the diode and lens (although platic) for such a great price.
Cons: Mine came tagged as 1mW and not 5mW as advertised.
Other: If all you need is a simple and cheap diode this is the one!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Modules work perfectly well on standard 5V supplies. The manual focus lens is of decent quality (though plastic), and easily adjusted. Output looks like a good 5 mW to me, though 650 is not as visible as 635 nm available in some cheap lasers.
Cons: There is some white silicone compound inside that makes removing the 5 mW diode for experiments a bit tedious - but still well doable.
Other: Recommended for use as-is as well as experiments.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Has focusable lens. The silver cap piece makes focusing a breeze compared to other modules. Good just as a housing for modding other laser diodes into it. Nice colored dot and bright beam.
Cons: Lens is plastic but sufficient for 5mW
Other: Get it if you need a cheap laser diode module housing.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Has an adjustable lens. Really useful if you want to swap the 5mW diode with a DVD diode. Easy to get inside to get to the inner workings. Seems to be pretty well made actually.
Cons: None
Other: Buy it. It'll come in useful for sure one day

Pros: very simple laser pointer and very easy to throw into your own case. For installing your own laser diode this is the perfect solution and I recommend this to anyone who is going to make thier own laser burner.
Cons: None
Other: Get it you won't regret it.

Pros: Focusable beam, solidly built. Easy to disassemble. Works fine off a 3v AC adapter.
Cons: none.
Other: Recommended!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Seriously, exactly what I was looking for for my DVD laser project
Cons: None.
Other: Awesome.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -nice finnish -Focusable
Cons: -none
Other: gread laser, when it is focused right you can get the finest dot i have ever seen
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The cheapest adjustable module around. Seems quite sturdy
Cons: The black plastic window just behind the lens is too small. Cut it out or widen it and the beam dot will be rounder. (be careful of getting plastic shavings on your lens tho)
Other: Give the guys over at aixiz a break and buy it.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: A professional laser with very small dot if you focus! you can use it from 2,2v to 9v without damage it, it has a controller inside. I even try it on 13v and it still not damage it at all!
Cons: You hear a sound if you focus the dot.
Other: You need this if you search for a laser that not damage fast with too high volt as labeled.
