Red Laser Module - Focused Dot (3.5V~4.5V 9mm 5mW)

Pros: Good laser for many projects, also good for testing out lithium batteries.

Cons: The module I recieved is not a focused dot, but instead makes a line.

Other: Fun little laser module!

Pros: In my opinion this is the best diode here on DX for DIY, its very cheap and seems well built. The one I got is the focusable dot, and not the line.

Cons: None, although I think this certainly isnt 5mW, but I may be wrong.

Other: Get this one if all you need is a simple diode for projects, this is certanly the best available here!

Pros: Very well built module. Extremely sturdy Has a nice focusable lens. Small so it will easily fit in most projects. Cheap.

Cons: The body is hard to unscrew to open up. Some sort of sealant which is very hard to break. Focus requires a tool or long fingernails

Pros: Seems like it's very nice quality. The laser already in there was good and bright. The diode could easily be unscrewed... Nice for DYI projects.

Cons: It was hard to get it over in half - it was glued with some very strong glue. Finally I got it open, though.

Pros: Cheap affordable replacement or DIY laser. It's smaller than I expected.

Cons: None so far, other than I lost the lens by accident, still works though

Other: Great module for the price, its very cheap and well built

Pros: - Coherent round dot and beam is brightly visible in mist / smoke. - Significantly brighter and more visible than my old (supposedly) 2.5 mW laser pointer. - Fully self-contained and quite well focused right out of the package from close-up* to at least up to 100 meters. - Accepts anything from 3.5-9V, there's no visible increase in brightness above ~4.3V. Besides, any more is likely to be detrimental to the controller circuit and / or diode itself... - Luckily, blowing one or two of these due over voltage isn't quite as catastrophic thanks to low price.

Cons: *Reflections caused by the brass casing at ~40-60 degree angle from the lens, some quite bright.

Other: I recommend these whether or not you have any actual use in mind.

Other: for the price, not a big deal if its broken, good to hide in highlighers as a secret laser pointer, you will never get caught!!

Pros: Great bang for buck. It's very bright and accepts a wide range of voltage levels.

Cons: Drains batteries like a champ.

Other: Couldn't have found better for the price.

Other: great laser at a great price for all you projects with lasers.. cant go wrong at this price.. BUY IT!

Pros: Small self contained unit at a good price. Easily integrated into your project.

Cons: If you want to drive the diode yourself it can be hard to disassemble.

Other: Useful little laser module at a good price. Getting a few to play with wont break the bank.
