Repair Parts Replacement Game Cart Slot for NDS Lite

Pros: A perfect replacement DS cart slot for your DS lite. I bought this just incase I need it in the future. It turns out my nephews DS suddenly stopped accepting game carts. Aparrently a pin broke off in the slot. It looks like the pins on the old slot were rusted and worn thin. Until one actually broke off. This replacement slot came in handy to repair the DS to full working order.

Cons: The only con is the slot I received had its metal cover bent down in shipping. Bending it back in shape fixed it. Not a con really but this is not a repair for the faint hearted, it requires desoldering/soldering of pins.

Other: A great deal to fix your dead DS. I will order another one as a future backup to keep my DS running in top shape.

Pros: This is the cheapest i have ever seen these parts! Usually the cheapest you get these is $10-$15 AND THIS IS FOR $2. Great product to fix your otherwise broken console.

Cons: None really. I recommend either having experience or getting an experienced person to install this for you or else you could break your motherboard.

Other: This is a great product and i recommend to all!

Pros: Good product that worked well once installed. Very happy with it.

Cons: Lack of suitable packaging was a negative. I ordered two (one for a backup as we have two DS units at home). Both games slots came with bent pins which were easily put bank into position. Also they were both compressed which required the metal top plate to be lifted up to allow easy insertion of the game cards.

Other: If you have a DS with a broken card slot, don't be afraid to give this a go. Moderate experience/confidence required but not too hard really. Have a look a a couple of YouTube videos to see what you're in for before you purchase.

Pros: -Very nice build quality, almost like the original ones. -Works very well. -Cheap solution to fix your NDSlite if it doesn't read game cards any more

Cons: -Really nothing about the product -The installation is a bit tricky and it is essential to have some soldering skills (described in Other Thoughts)

Other: It's a great deal, if the slot1 of your NDSlite is damaged and doesn't read any game cards any more. I really recommend it. Buy! Buy! Buy!

Pros: I ordered this to repair my old nds lite that didn't read games anymore. (due to a bent pin in the game socket). +Very good price +It works, if installed correctly it will make your nds lite read games again...for a mere 2 bucks.

Cons: I ordered 2 of these and I guess I was a bit unlucky. Both came with bent metal plate (easily corrected though). The plastic bottom on the 2nd one was cracked (but holding together) and one had bent pins (one of the pins were -very- bent). I soldered the one without bent pins first but when I was finished and about to test it with a game I noticed the eject mechanism didn't work. It read games though, but was impossible to keep that way. Replaced it with the one with the bent pins and got it to work. (hope the bent pins lasts) I also had to remove the 2 plastic pins in the front of the game socket because the ds shell didn't fit otherwise. My original ds lite game socket doesn't have those 2 pins either...

Other: Buy it, it's a good product for a cheap price. Maybe order it with some other products so it gets sent in a bigger and better package? Also make sure the eject mechanism works before installing it on your nds lite!

Pros: If you know how to solder and de-solder than this is a peace of cake. I have had several game cart slots replaced and no problems. It does what it should do.

Cons: if you dont know how to de-solder than this is a no go. You could really wreck you DS. So make sure you have someone to do this for you if you cant. same is for soldering ofcourse. Test it whit more than one card beacuse not all the cards use all the pins.
