Repair Parts Replacement Laser Disc Reader Module for SCPH-7000 Series PS2

Pros: It's just like the original laser module. I bought three and all of them worked beautifully. Considering that most problems with the slim ps2 are laser related, this was a great buy. I fixed a friend's ps2, one I got cheap off ebay, and I kept one as a spare part.

Cons: None.

Other: If your ps2 slim is not reading discs well, try adjusting the POT for a quick fix, but buy one of these. Most likely it will solve your issues.

Pros: Great Replacement i had a ps2 that wouldnt read and silver disc only psx and blue ps2 discs so i replaced the laser with this one and bam it would read any disc i threw at it except it wants reading perfect so i got out the ol multimeter and did a bit of pot tweaking and got it reading better than brand new and for the price you just cant beat it

Cons: the only con this item could have would be that i had to adjust the dvd pot on the back of the laser but it wasnt a problem for me just could possibly give other people issues

Pros: *identical to original laser *relatively easy to install *can bring an old ps2 back from the dead

Cons: *requires additional materials to install *may not work with all ps2 slim models

Other: if your ps2 slim is giving you a disc read error, consider installing one of these. it's far cheaper than buying a new ps2, and still cheaper than buying a secondhand ps2. i'm glad i decided to buy this, i might even buy a spare.

Pros: It fits perfectly and work flawlessly! Cheap! I'm definitely going to buy more, since i use them a lot in fixing ps2 systems.

Cons: The original PS2 laser unit is a cheap and weak piece of hardware, and i don't believe this one is any better.

Other: ATTENTION NEWBIES: Always remember to remove the protective solder before installing or it WONT WORK!!! I've read some complaints in the forum, people saying they bought some units and none worked; i surely wouldn't trust my life to these laser units, but i also doubt many of them can come defective at the same time... it seems unlikely... so, always remember to check to remove that solder gob before saying it didn't worked. Pros: It's cheap and it really works! It is also very easy to install even if you don't have experience with electronics.

Cons: It reads original DVDs and backup-CDs without any problems, but backed up DVDs are problematic. You should use only good blank DVDs. Otherwise your PS2 might not be able to read them.

Other: Don't throw away your old PS2! It's easy to fix it!

Cons: some units come with factory default or fail to work on some days.
algumas unidades chegam com defeito de fábrica ou deixam de funcionar em alguns dias.

Other: the price of each unit there is not much to complain about, buying a set of 10 pieces are worth some fail after some time.

Pros: The product has an accesible price and it's easy to use. I had been buying many other before and the most of them works... in first. (Read the Cons explanation about it). The seals comes fine too.

Cons: Like Cons are two big ones. 1): I had purchased several times and not all works. Four of twenty didn't. 2) Some of them work fine at first but in a short time (two o three months depend of use), they begin to fail reading games.

Other: I dont know if I will buy again.

Pros: Takes broken PS2's and makes it not be broken any more!

Cons: No cons... except in the second Star Trek movie.

Pros: It is so cheap. It is difficult finding from the product in this low price. Moreover, it is suitable with the PS2 device. It is fixing the device easily and works good.

Cons: The product is so sensitive. Especially, packaging should be better and tightly. Nevertheless, the products come without any harm. This is just a suggestion.

Other: Get it from this site!It is really cheap and functionable. It worths to buy. I recommend it to P2 users absolutely.
