Repair Parts Replacement Laser Drive Module for PS3

Pros: The Kes400a laser unit is a common fault in the ps3. If you fancy giving Sony more of your hard earned cash (if you are out of your 12 month warranty) then do so £100. My advice is DO IT YOURSELF this unit worked perfectly when fitted into my ps3 no complaints at all, once dispatched I received it within 5 days to the UK. It is easy to fit just a little work needed and step by step video's can be found on many websites.(no need to change the carrier just the laser unit), HOPE THIS HELPS

Other: This is a cheap replacement part for the ps3 no matter what way you look at it, DEALEXTREAM i think have a price match scheme as well so if you do get it cheaper elsewhere then email them let them know and maybe you'll get it for the same price.

Pros: - Replaces your broken PS3 laser assembly. - Easy to install, just dissassemble and fit it in. - No soldering required.

Cons: - The price is a bit high, but reasonable I guess.

Other: Works like a champ! I repaired alot of PS3's with these lasers right here. Ordered a few of them from DX and they have all been working so far. Installation is easy and it's way better than paying Sony 150$ for a refurbished one.

Pros: well.. it works. i bought cheap older "blind" PS3, replaced non-working laser module and suddenly i had a working PS3 for a half price.

Cons: well.. you have to find a tutorial on how to open PS3. also by doing that, you will break the warranty conditions. but you probably have a void warranty anyway, if you even think about grabbing this stuff..

Pros: Looked absolutely identical to the original part removed from my PS3. Works perfectly. Arrived in under 2 weeks to Australia.

Pros: I bought a used PS3 40gb fat model (CECHG) with non-working laser. I have tried to clean the lens and reinstall (restore) the hard drive files as can be found on the net to no avail. So the lens must have been dead. The replacement arrived in a neat package, all carefully packaged. It work immediately I recognized it from its voice (whirring and not rattling 'noise'). So my machine has been revived, and it only cost me half of what a new slim is being sold at the moment. All in all approx. $130 for the used non-working machine + $50 for this, and half an hour for replacing it. It was a good deal.

Cons: Tooking apart a fat ps3 is not a too easy job, especially the blu-ray drive. To get to the part where you can replace the laser you need to unscrew at least 20-30 screws, and be very very careful. When you replace the actual laser you should put some fine oil onto the rails. Also beware of the small plastic sticker put onto the top of the laser eye. After you have replaced the lens and put all screws onto the rails remove this and immediately put the top cover of the drive on. Beware that this lens only works in fat PS3s manufactured betwen 2006-2007. The system serial should start with CECHA...CECHG. Fat PS3s with CECHH or higher use the other KEM-410ACA dual laser lens.

Other: Get it if you are in a similar situation and restoring the hard drive or cleaning the lens with alcohol did not work. This is the best price you can get. Besides if the lens would arrive dead (I doubt it) you can request an RMA for DX. Be careful not to touch the lens when working with it.

Pros: es un buen producto no tiene falla y funciona muy bien en el ps3 fat 80g lo recomiendo aparte biene en un buen case para que no se dañe. me parece excelente que no traiga la soldadura para trabar el láser ya que aveces es difícil de quitar y este ya biene preparado para solo poner y funcionar

Cons: lo malo que encontré es que el producto no tiene garantía y lo malo es que hay ps3 que al poner el láser nuevo lo queman (ya me paso) siento que debería tener garantía con esto pero de hay en fuera me pareció bueno el producto

Pros: My Playstation 3 is back to life with only 34$, delivery in less than 2 weeks, Original part and well packaged to avoid damages. i saved 80$ by fixing it myself as the shop would have charged me around 120$.

Cons: as expected it requires some time to install the lens, but you can find plenty of videos that will guide you through the process.

Pros: Hi,this is genuine replacement lenses,and with it I have managed to repair my old 40GB fat PlayStation 3 system.It works great and it reads everything - cd,dvd,blue ray (games and movies). Start up and loading times are like on new unit again.

Cons: You have to be very skilled to replace this laser lenses.Although there is no soldering,you must not disturb the alignment of laser module rails because there is no way to set it back without special and expensive equipment.
