Repair Parts: Replacement Laser Module for Wii Console

Pros: - Seems like a genuine part. - I think it was a reject part that got sold in bulk. - works as advertised - costs a lot less then changing the whole Wii - works as advertised - did I say its cheaper then buying another Wii?

Cons: - some assembly required - doesn't come with instructions - some level of expertise required - it does require a soldering iron, but no soldering. That's weird. - you need to open you Wii!!

Other: I was fairly happy to receive this. The price can't be beaten, but the complexity of installing this isn't the best. You might need online tutorials (I found some on youtube, search was easy) if you get "An error has occurred please press the eject button and remove the disk. turn the wii console off and refer to the manual" you need this. But if your toddler did put 2 or more discs in the Wii, you could avoid waiting for this by looking the metal tabs that holds the discs, they very easily can block the disc rotation and cause the same error. If you're in doubt, order it anyway. A new laser ain't all that bad and you can't beat that price. really. Did I say it works as advertised and is cheaper then anywhere else??

Pros: Cheap repair part. I have a new wii after install it.

Cons: A bit tricky to change it but you can find a lot of tutorial in google.com for do it. Be sure to do it step by step for don't have problems. But In about one hour you can fix it. You need a welder and some tools for change the laser lens module. A must have some knowledge of electronics and patience but It's possible in you try it

Other: nice and cheap laser part

Pros: Very simple part, if you are familiar with the inside of a Wii and/or have done Wii repairs before, this will be a great product. When the first-gen Wiis were dying most of the time this is the piece that was going; this is not the same piece in the first-gens; I have fixed my friend's Wii and no problems anymore!

Cons: No cons for this product, except that you literally have to take the whole Wii apart to replace this. Not the product's fault, though!

Other: Get it if you need to repair your Wii and know what you're doing. You will save a ton of money.

Pros: Good quality product and a very good price. Once fitted all tested well and working fine.

Cons: Cant think of any with the product only thing is you need to be very confident in taking the wii apart. Fitting it can be very tricky If you struggle there is always videos on you tube to help you out. Just be very carful with the cable clips that hold in the data cable for the laser they are easy to snap
