Repair Parts Replacement Touch Screen/Digitizer for NDS Lite

Pros: Came - as already stated by other posters - taped up in a couple of red bubblewrap bags within a jiffy bag style envelope. No problems with packaging at all , arrived in one piece in perfect condition.
I have had previous experience in replacing screens on gaming consoles ( PSPs ) so I decided to take the plunge and try doing it on my daughters non fuctioning DS lite.
After browsing the web and settling on one guide in particular ( instructables ) and following closely whilst using my COMMON SENSE I got the touch screen installed and working with very little fuss. YOU REALLY NEED TO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE LITTLE FLEX CABLES - so easy to break. No calibration issues at all and the only hassle I had was with the removal of the sticky ' seal ' between the screen and the digitiser itself on the old one.

Cons: Don't know about the non functioning screen claims or the general percentage of DOA screens , but mine arrived perfect and works flawlessly , with a minimum of fuss.

Other: No Problems at all.

Pros: I ordered 5 so far and have installed 3. They seem to work very well, so far I can't really tell a difference from the original one. I have installed screen protecters on them so I really don't know if they scratch any easier than the original one.

Cons: I really wish they came with new double sided tape to attach it to the LCD but luckily I had some left over from the new housings that I have installed.

Other: They seem pretty well made and work just as good as the original.

Pros: First - the price. It couldn't be cheaper. Then it's quality, which is quite high for that price. I also didn't notice any problems while working with it, so simpy - it works.

Cons: Since it is a replacement part, it comes with the ready connector. I needed it for other project, so I had to cut the tiny wires apart and solder it to bigger ones - that was kinda pain. That's all.

Other: Simple, cheap, good quality and correctly working part, which can be used in more than one device. For electronics maniacs: it works with microcontrollers. So you can make touching interface :)

Pros: Cheap, affordable, and against the Acrylic-like material of the other NDSL replacement touch screen available, has more of a plastic material like original, being more elastic, I.E. more durable. It also works well (according to installation, I have experience in mishaps of my own as well)

Cons: It is not easy to install for every bloke out there, though, certainly easier than a solder job. It needs diligence and right tools, or you end up with broken ribbon lock.

Other: Affordable, well working, better than the other one available, I'd say. It can save you money, if you want more of DS gaming, and new unit is bit too much.

Pros: Excellent piece of kit. Quality is good and you can't go past the price. The fit was perfect, ribbon cables aligned correctly and screen accuracy was as good as the original. My son is one happy chappy.

Cons: A fiddly fit, but other than that I didn't come across any.

Other: Great value!

Pros: A very good replacement part for a very reasonable price. For less than €2 the DSL was working perfectly again with touch.

Cons: Installation is quite a fiddle and you really need to know what you are doing otherwise you may brake your DS to a point where only a professional can repair the connector on the mainbord.

Other: a good product for a good price. If you have troubles with the touchscreen of your DSL and you know what you are doing, this is the product you need. I order 5 new ones to repair 2 other DSL's.

Pros: It's very Cheap
It Works perfectly and the difference from the original it's not perceptible
Very Good price

Cons: It's not an easy task to install it

Other: If you need to replace the touch screen, this is your item

Pros: - Low Price - Good availability - Build quality seemed to be adequate for the price

Cons: - Not so easy to install, but it's mainly DSs designs fault

Other: Good replacement part for someone (me) who ripped of the contacts form the original touch screen. Saved me a new DS.

Pros: a good quality touchscreen, with 2 screenprotectors at each side of the plastic panel. It responds very well, much better than the original touchscreen which was almost broken.

Cons: Hard to install. However, not impossible. If you take a good DIY instructable from youtube it is possible.You have to have a steady hand however ;-)

Other: nice touchscreen. saves you buying a new ds, the repair takes 2 houres, but it saves 120 dollar!

Pros: The price to get a screen from the repair centre will cost 10 times as much. I would definitely recommend it, to any one that has an NDS, either as a spare or to replace an already broken screen. Super easy to install and replace.

Cons: none really.

Other: If you have an NDS, Buy now,cos your screen will break if you have kids using it, and also buy a replacement for the other screen, as soon as i fixed this a short while later the other screen stopped working,
