Replacement UMD Door for PSP

Pros: The value for money! There is literally nowhere else that can offer a replacement at this cost. The door is much easier to install than the sony originals, as the plastic used is much stronger and less likely to snap. Even the writing is an excellent match.

Cons: The plastic is a lower grade than the sony equivalent, and the difference is visible under certain light conditions. The lathing technique used on the metal ring is not always consistent - sometimes the 'brushed' effect points one way, and another time it's a different angle. The mould used to create these is also not *quite* there - a couple of the lines are different to the original.

Other: You get what you pay for folks. Perfectly reasonable copy - invisible to the untrained eye. Better value for money than a mcdonalds and you'll stay healthier at the same time.

Pros: Great item just like original. Good price

Cons: This thing was pretty hard to get on. I have to cut of a peice of the plastic on the hinge to get around one of the screws.

Other: Get this if you have a Broken PSP UMD Door :)

Pros: -Extremely unnoticeable. -Very good quality on the outside. -Looks Diecast real. -FITS IN REAL NICE

Cons: -Plastic on the inside is cheap...but no one can see it.
-Takes some PSP anatomy to fit in place.
-Other than that, none.

Other: If your metallic ring was scratched, replace it... TOTALLY worth it for 3.29$
I even had a couple of friends ask me if my metallic ring was scratched before, and i said, i bought a new door off dealextreme.com

Other: If your door is broken or scratched, Get it! But if you only need the ring, get the replacement ring they sell here, its a lot easier to install than the whole door, thats what I should have gotten, but after I saw how easily the guy on the video did it I decided to get this. Turns out its a little more complicated than I thought.

Pros: The biggest pro for this item is it's price. No way to beat a sub-$4 replacement for such an essential part of the console. It's also constructed very well and does not look noticeably different if you don't look too closely.

Cons: While it's very easy to google instructions for how to replace this part, the actual shipped item includes no instructions or warnings for what is actually a fairly complex install, requiring you to void the warranty by opening the faceplate, removing several parts including the LCD to access a couple of screws. This process also requires some precision philips screwdrivers.Not necessarily a good DIY repair for beginners.

Other: Absolutely the recommended way to replace a broken UMD door if you aren't too wary of opening up your PSP. Super cheap!

Pros: Cheap replacement part.
Good quality plastic and ring/logo considering that price.
Fits and works well.

Cons: Not at all easy to install. You must dismantle a great deal of the PSP to get the door installed properly.
Does not come with any instructions (it comes in a little ziplock bag by itself), which could trip up a rookie given the involved install.

Other: Just what you need, provided you know what you're doing.

Pros: this is used to replace a broken fat psp UMD door.

it is very cheap, theres noway you can find something this important but cheap at other online stores

Cons: it is hard to install, it does not just clip on. you have to open up the psp which voids warranty.
sometimes it doesnt close properly, this is because the metal hook inside the UMD door is loose. i managed to make it work properly tho.

Other: get this if you need a new door, it can be a pain to install, but it is important.
CHEAP!!!

Pros: This is an absolutely affordable alternative to an official Sony replacement part. Cosmetically, there aren't any differences noticeable unless compared side to side.

Cons: While there are guides online to help you through the replacement process, it is still a very intricate and delicate operation. For a novice, the number of steps involved just to replace this one part could be too much.

Other: If you know what you're doing, this is definitely the way to go for replacing a broken UMD door. The cost is utterly unbeatable, and it looks nearly identical to the real thing.
