RGB Multicolored 1-Meter 30-LED 6W Light Strip with Remote Controller (DC 12V)

Pros: If you ever wanted to have those changing lights in your 12VDC applications, wait no more! The solution is here! This products is just awesome, solved so many things for me and my friends at once.
Lights can be adjusted from solid light to effects easily with remote control. So you can choose light that suits your situation or have a blinking or fading effect. The device has 3 effects to choose from, one that toggles colors directly, one that fades colour from black (black-fade to etc green-fade to black-fade to next colour) and effect that fades between all rgb colours (fades from green-red-yellow etc).

Cons: The rgb light doesn't come exactly from the same source, so you can see the light change from different colours. This doesn't effect you unless you need very sharp angle of projection.

Pros: * really bright!
* paper thin strip, with the LEDs sitting only around 1mm proud
* when you reconnect power, the unit comes up in the same state (ie powered up or not; same program and settings)
* there are a number of programs, hittin a single button on the remote moves to the next program in sequence
- single fixed colour (green, blue, cyan, red, yellow, magenta, white)
- flashing green red blue in sequence
- flashing green red yellow blue cyan magenta white in sequence
- fading up green, holding, fading out then repeating for red, then blue, and so on
- fading up green, into yellow, into red, into magenta, into blue, into cyan, into white, then to black, and repeating
* 16 brightness levels, from very dim but increasing quickly (so there is little difference between the last few). Brightness only applies to the fixed and flashing programs, not the fading programs. When changing brightness, the new level fades up (or down) over around a second
* The flashing and fading programs have configurable speed, from many flashes per second (or a complete rainbow fade over around 3 seconds) to very slow (taking around 30 seconds per colour in the rainbow fade)
* clearly marked on the back of the strip if you want to cut off 3-led sections if you need less than a full metre
* self-adhesive strip is already applied to the back of the light strip

Cons: * seems this strip is pretty fragile. When it arrived a number of the smt resistors had already been half-levered off the strip where it had been bent too tightly or crushed in the post
* where the wires are soldered to the strip (under the black heatshrink) this has failed before even fitting the strip (and I haven't treated it roughly), and I've also had to solder down more of the resistors
* 1m strip does not come on a real, but loose in the bag
* perhaps I was unlucky and DX just packed this really poorly and the postman bashed it around

Other: * Great remote control unit
* Strip is fragile, but should be better once you stick it in place
* Bargain price for 1m including the control (compare to prices others charge for just 30cm)

Pros: This briht ledlight is very usefull in artdesign and all kinds of situations
where the color and intensity must be
completely controllable.
More strips can be mounted after each other, the driver does not give troubles.
When using more than 2 strips per driver, the small powertransistors need some cooling.
Because the system is PWM controlled ,the efficiency is superb.

Cons: The strip itselve is frgile, so bending in sharp edges can destroy the delicate contacts of the smd RGB leds and the resistors.
In the white-mode, the red is a little bit too strong so a pink-white light is
the effect.

Other: For inventors and designers a lot of possibilities for low costs.
Even when you want to desolder the RGB leds and make a PCB with them is cheap.
The leds have outstanding uniformity in
color, the driver alone can be used for
many projects,
the stable and reliable electronics can be used with other ledsystems, like CREE.
Only your imagination limits the possibilities of this product.

Pros: - Great price. - Very bright LEDS. - a lot of setups of cycle the colors - Dual-sided glow on the back. - Remote! with good range.

Cons: - does not come with power supplier or a connector for standart power supply. - rolls back to circle - dont want to glow it to the wall at the time

Other: will buy soon the 5 meter version - to light the garden... maybe 3 of them... :-D

Pros: The strip is very flexible and very thin. It can shape to about anything you want. I purchased to build add color to my lcd tv stand and the result is incredible. There is so many colors and color cycles. I can't get tired of it.

Cons: I was not sure what Amp was necessary for my transfo and the box came with no hint so I had to trust my intuition. It would be nice if a kit already came with it's transformator.

Other: If you plan to add led to any of your project, try this kit. It is cheap and won't deceive you.

Pros: Had a 8600 gt card with an old noisy fan,
replaced with this now I have a useable card that is almost silent

Cons: The instructions are next to useless it doesn't show where the screws go.
Had to change the power connecter as the one fitted is to small to fit my card( not an easy feat).Aluminum fins were bent, Low quality thermal paste.

Other: Don't know how the supplied metal bracket is used with this fan.(Dont fit it to the back of the card it will short the graphic's card)

Pros: Its a great product, the led lights shining very powerfull nice colours. Im using it in a car.

Cons: makes the interior more beautiful, or refresh with flashing lights, easy to use and set. Back of the band is strong self-adhesive strip. The cables are maybee a little bit short but you can easy attach other longer

Other: If you are a lights fan, buy it cause it isnt expensive for what u get.

Pros: If you want to have fancy part of your home, this is just for you. This item has a great colors and works really well. All LED´s are still working (I already bought three pieces).

Cons: Packing box is nothing special and if I just try to think, how mail travels, it can be better packed. There are also no manuals, especially you need some time to teach, how remote controller worked. Sometimes it looks, that controller doesnt work, but you must to be patient :)

Other: I just dont know, if this item is usefull for outside the house (wet, cold or hot weather ???)

Pros: Fairly bright for their size! Almost too bright for not wanting the cops to see any lights (apparently it can be illegal to have any lights installed 'inside' your car even). You can cut the strips ever few inches for seperating, this is great! converter box takes care of making sure any voltage spikes in a car electrical system doesnt fry your lights! Tape backing if you want to stick em (but i used zip ties)

Cons: I REALLY wish you could set the brightness while it was on its phasing routine. You can only set the brightness when you have it set on a single specific color (one of the 7) but if you switch it to color flashing/phasing mode, it uses full bright. Kind of a bummer :( Kind of wish the control box used RF or had a little longer wire for the IR sensor, as I mounted this box UNDER My dash, you have reach down near your feet with the remote to get it to pick up most button presses. Also the remote is a little vague, with some trial and error you can figure it out, but a little labeling on the remote could solve this.

Other: I put these in my 02' accord. I used some quick splices onto the glovebox light cables, so these lights only come on when the glovebox light would normally come on (i.e. when i turn the headlights on, i.e. at night only! perfect!) I haven't had any issues with power spikes yet or any shorts. I dont have any inline fuse or anything. It works perfectly fine on car! No issues! Get a set, they are GREAT for 25 bucks!

Pros: Great build quality, produces clear RGB colours and combines to give perfect white light. 12v to drive the LED's put inline resistors to R, G, B to mix colours.

Cons: none... Would be handy to know what the load resistance is over the LED's to get the right resistors to use inline with the circuit if you build your own.

Other: Buy it!! First time it is handy to get the kit with the driver/effects box. It can be used to experiment and meassure values so you can build your own circuit.
