Pros: 1. Excelent manufacture quality in both the unit and the probes. 2. Fast response GUI and a lot of languajes built-in. 3. with auto-calibrate 4. with Rigol warranties. 5. Include all instructions, service manual, aplications and driver. 6. Perfect packing

Cons: This unit don't have sound volumen adjust, only on or off. Nothing at the moment.

Other: Really recomend it. Is a very high quality product. If you need a osciloscope, this is a good unit. Perfect for profesionals and enginering students.

    Pros: -Great Value!
    -Bright Screen with good resolution
    -Easy to use
-Comes with 2 sets of scope probes and PC software

Cons: - Fan is a little loud, but not more than a clean computer
-Doesn't come with North American plug, will need to supply your own

    Other: -Couldn't be more satisfied
-The best money I have spent at DX ever!
-Agilent rebrands RIGOL scopes for their low-end scopes (that means it's good stuff)

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Price, Functions, Trigger modes, Maths (Even it has Fast Fourier Transform), Price again, and full colour display

Cons: Almost all the documentations are in Chinesse but it is not too difficult to find it in English in the internet, the default display language is chinesse but you pnly have to look for the only one word of the menu that its in English..."language" xD

Other: Amazing oscilloscope with a very good reputation and 50MHZ of bandwidth, some others oscilloscopes with all this features cost 1200$

  • Great oscilloscope at great price

posted by donratax on 14:29:30 G5T 31/05/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -1 GSa/s makes it great for most jobs. -Possibility of 100 MHz analog bandwidth conversion makes it a best buy if you need a 100 MHz oscilloscope. -Construction seems really tough and durable. -Back lit buttons are great. -Very fast response to buttons or controls.

Cons: -Only one control for both vertical channels, so you have to select each one before changing scale or position. Anyway it makes sense when you activate the math or reference channel, you can use the same controls after selecting them.

Other: I've used tektronix bottom-line DSOs on school for some years and the other day I compared it to this rigol DS1052E. I must say that the rigol felt much more fast responding and has a bunch of extra features.

  • Awesome little scope!

posted by nebarnix on 13:23:21 G6T 04/06/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Lightweight and VERY portable. I carry it around in my backpack!
The screen is bright, the refresh rate is pleasing, and the math functions are DREAM! Roll mode is nice for things like temperature monitoring.

Cons: Lots of digging through menus, but not counter intuitive.

Other: This is the cutest little awesome scope ever. Its tiny but the screen is big and bright. Resolution isn't crazy but it doesn't need to be. Export the data into matlab if you need more power for goodness sakes. This is a make or break item for hobbyists. Scopes are just too expensive and USB scopes are useless.

Pros: The best is the price, build quality is very good, display with fast response. Screen capture is very simple. The 1Mpts long Memory Depth is excelent to study sinal.
O melhor é o preço, se ve de cara que é de excelente qualidade a respota do display é boa já tive um Agilent que era extremamente lento.

Cons: Could have more buttons, the selection of some functions are boring some times. The fan is too noise.
Deveria ter mais botões a seleção de algumas funções é um pouco chata.

    Other: Really recomend it.
Eu recomendo pra quem quer algo profissional por um preço baixo.

  • You can't lose with this little powerhouse

posted by clanrat on 02:29:04 G7T 17/07/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: This really is an excellent little scope for the price. It has a lot of features that are missing from my Teks that are 4x the price. Reasonable low signal level performance and the averaging works quite well. The bright display is easy to read from almost any angle. Small and light. Will almost fit in the toolbox. Perfect for field work. An integrated storage tray for the probes would have been nice.

Cons: Came with useless power cord Keypress beep gets very annoying, very fast. Wasn't packed for shipping well, but did arrive in once piece.

Other: If you're looking for a solid basic scope for looking at audio and logic signals, I think it's really hard to go wrong with this one. The price is amazing, and the quality of the unit really impressed me.

  • Best bang for the buck

posted by caesarc on 03:05:25 G7T 31/07/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: * price
    * features and functions
    * build quality
    * ease of use (even for non experienced users)
    * can compete with devices that cost 2-4 times more (thanks for DX prices)
    * after the firmware hack (if you decide for it) you get a 100MHz device, effectively doubling its value.
    * it's the real deal, a true Rigol

Cons: * power cable was for UK or Australia/New Zealand (easily provided mine as it is a standard connector on the device)
    * package was just like in the picture, meaning the device was protected by just 2 small foam caps. Guess I was lucky and it still worked. Postal services tend to drop packages around. Anyway, this means that it's a very sturdy well built device!

Other: Best deal if you want a starter scope.
Best deal ever if you want a 100MHz scope (very easy firmware hack).
Get your own power cable for US or EU.

posted by owowkazii on 17:18:37 G12T 07/12/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Very cheap price. - Oscilloscope as alot of features. - Firmware can be hacked to get a 100Mhz bandwidth. - Oscilloscope works perfectly.

Cons: - It takes some times untill you receive your package. Mine took about 1 month but still it was okay. - The sound of the fan can sometimes get irritating. - Instructions are in chinese.

Other: It is a very good deal, the price is very cheap and you get a good quality service. I'm very satisfied of Dealextreme except the shipping time but that didn't bother me so much like I mentioned before.

  • Great Value for money very versatile.

posted by FlyingV on 08:44:18 G1T 22/01/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: 1. It can be hacked via the usb easily to make it a 100MHz scope! 2. It's Dual trace. 3. Light weight and portable 4. small size makes it great for bench top use without taking up a lot of space 5. It has X-Y and Roll timebase functions 6. It has FFT function turning the scope into a realtime spectrum analyser.

Cons: 1. The fan is quite loud. about 36dBA 2. In X-Y mode it's not as good as an analogue or higher end dso as the screen refresh rate doesn't give as clear an image but it's not totally unusable. This minor limitation is far outweighed by the other features though.

Other: Don't um and arr about it! Just get it! You won't regret it.
