Pros: For this price, it can't get any better. It's very simple and effective. Just plug the phone cables, and another one into the computer's mic. That's it. Any software (like Audacity, which is open source) can record you conversations in a snap! Inner circuit eliminates noise and interference, providing good quality into the computer mic.
Cons: Remember to use a mono cable extending from the base into the computer. Stereo cables will generate a lot of noise and interference.
Other: Great buy! You can find all sorts of equipments that do the same thing for hundreds of dollars more. Certainly worth it for this price. Anyone with average computer understanding can setup a recording station using freeware found on the net.

Pros: I like to record important phone calls, such as those to insurance agents, customer service reps, and telemarketers.
I used to hold a mic up to the earpiece and another up to the mouthpiece of my phone.
Now I just plug my recorder into this box and hit record. It works fine.
Cons: It's incredibly quiet. You have to crank your record volume.
I have a battery-powered recorder. I read here that if you try to plug into something like a computer, on main power, you'll get terrible noise.
I haven't tried this.
The jacks weren't labelled on my device. They were reverse of the images I saw on DX. You just have to figure it out by trying.
Other: It's quiet, but not especially noisy on my recorder. It's mono. I have mine permanently connected to my phone line, sitting on top of my computer with an audio cable always attached. I can plug in my recorder whenever I want to record something.

Pros: This is the one that fit my needs squarely. Telephone Ansering phone used to have a button to record coversation as accesory to remember what have been discussed, especially in foreign language. All new phone have such features removed due to silly laws. It is simple, clear (contrary to several of the forum reports which use computer audio card as input, but use it improperly) using standard speech recorder mic input. I opened up to have a look... nothing of any interests, but work. With only so few components, it should be priced at $1 instead of $3. But DX has getting expensive.
Cons: none really.
Other: Well, still feel being sucked paying $3 for it.

Pros: - very cheap
- very small
- very simple to use
- one RJ11 cable in (from wall), another out (to phone)
- 3.5mm mono socket (3.5mm mono cables not as easy to find as stereo, but not impossible)
Cons: Well...
- build quality ok but not great
- no AC or battery power supply, see below
- massive interference, see below
I was really hoping this would work for me because I would like to record some important phone calls.
The problem is that this device has no power source of its' own so it must draw on the phone line to supply signal to the 3.5mm socket. This extra drain\impedance (I believe, I'm no electronic engineer) is what causes the excessive interference when connected to certain devices;
The only device that did not produce interference was a cheap sku 26160 type earphones, one channel only (obviously) & very, very quiet.
Anything capable of recording produced massive interference.
NB: I tried both mono & stereo connections to eliminate improper contact\grounding as a possible cause - it made no difference.
Other: This device is really begging for some form of power supply. In its' current, unpowered form it is nearly useless for recording calls because of the noise it generates... sadly.

Pros: Very cheap, small, easy to install - just plug and play.
Cons: A LOT OF INTERFERENCE! I tried in my home with two separate land lines, tried in my girlfriend house. I used a software to filter the sound but no results The sound is also incredible low
Other: Unless you have a perfect line connection you buy it. Altough it´s only <3.00 USD try it. If it cost 10 USD i would be very upset auhauha

Pros: Works as advertised WHEN SETUP PROPERLY (read rest of review for setup and how I use it). No noise problem for me. Good voice volume. Inexpensive. Compact. Does not use batteries.
Cons: No instructions.
Other: To create a phone tap into my computer cost about USD $11.00:
This RJ11 Recording Adapter: $2.95
Phone extension cord: $1.00
6 foot Mono audio cable: $4.00
Mono to Stereo plug adapter: $2.70
It is an easy, reliable, good quality product for making good telephone voice recordings.

Pros: I have to say it works flawlessly. I set it up in about two minutes without needing any instructions and tested it with a Sony VOR recorder and it worked perfect.
Sound quality was good. Can't expect much from sound from a phone line so I wasn't expecting to have a high end stereo experience lol.
No way for anyone on the phone line to know the conversation was being recorded ...at least with any audible sounds, etc.
Cons: None, it works and no instructions needed.
Other: Hey it works fine, get one if you have a VOR functioning recorder and you can simply leave it plugged in all the time.

Pros: Great little device. Plugged it in and connected it to my Sony Digtal voice recorder, And it worked with no noise or interference. Great way to record calls for taking notes later.
Cons: I cant find any. Maybe it could have a pre amp to boost the incoming signal a bit. Not a show stopper.
Other: Get one. How can you go wrong at this price. If you plan on using it with a PC then you will need a ground lift as discussed by one of the other reviewers.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Great device work as it should simply just get a phone line and plug it into the in put then record through the line out using an a 3.5mm jack. Also a very sturdy compact device
Cons: Could add a manual as it could be hard to understand I had no trouble but it could be for some people as there is no markings on the device telling you what is input and what is output.
Other: Great compact device for recording phone calls.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Works great and the sound is clean. I am using that with a non-powered telephone, and i am having no problems like the posted in others reviews. To use that you only need 2 RJ11 cables, 1 p4 cable and a recorder with a p4 jack input. I dont have a voice recorder, so i am using my iphone to record the calls.
Cons: Don't work with some telephones because it dont pass trough the power supply.
Other: Great product with a easy solution for yours recorders. The resuld is a clean record that you can convert into a digital file.
