RJ45 Network Cable 1-to-2 Female-Female Spliter Coupler

Pros: Works great as 1 - 1 extension.

Cons: Does not work to split from 1 RJ45 to 2. I've tested this at my work environment. I'm in IT. What happens is it can extend one connection, when you plug in another to the second connector, the first connection will be lost to the second.

Other: Does not work as 1 - 2 splitter. You need an actual hub, switch, or router.

Alright, MAYBE the lack of gold-plated pins (to be expected at this price point).

Other: It is what it is. And it isn't what it isn't. (Does that make sense?) It does have its (limited) uses, though these uses might not be of interest to most people.

Pros: - Cheap - Useful for connecting together RJ45 phone systems and the like.

- all three connectors have all 8 wires connected in parallel
- Not rated for Ethernet, although it'll work.

Other: Useful as raw material, not so much for use as-is.

Pros: It works as a splitter, but only one device at a time. Which is fine for me, because I need to have 2 network connections which I don't use at the same time.

Cons: If two devices are connected, it links a the slowest speed even though the slower device is turned off (in my case a xbox360). Now I still have to unplug a cable to enjoy gigabit ethernet.

Other: It does what it does. It's simple to use and it can save you the extra long cable. Just remember that you can't use two devices at the same time and you'll enjoy this product. It's probably normal auto negotiation fails (since it's not a switch or hub), but it is a shame.

I use it to split my internet connection to use it in two computers at the same time - and it works!!!

Other: It solved many problems for me. I hadn't to buy hub or router - this splitter for 1$ works also!

Pros: It splits your modem into two ethernet ports so you can get internet on two computers. You dont need to go out and buy a router for about 50 bucks you can save 48 dollars if you buy this and your the only one that uses the computers/game consoles

Cons: this splitter does not allow you to go on the internet at the same time. So if you are some one that has people that want to go on the other computers internet dont buy thisbecause they will have to wait untill your finished to go on the internet

Other: If your the one that goes on the internet alot and does not need to use both at the same time then buy this.

build quality is okay
hasn't broken yet

Cons: if you plan on playing around with it a lot, this isn't the product for you
if it gets bumped or anything it usually loses connection very very briefly

Other: It's not overly useful, so don't buy it unless you have a particular use for it.
On a sidenote, it does NOT act as a router, so don't even try lol

Pros: I haven't seen it mentioned, this will work with phone lines as well. Cheap solution to attach multiple devices without crawling through attics/basements to run additional cables.

Cons: It's only a splitter, only one ethernet device can be used/powered on at a time... but read on for a solution in "other thoughts"... I've ordered six of these, and two were damaged (the pins were bent and don't line up properly). It's not worth the time or effort to go through the RMA process on a $1 item. Order extras if you want to be safe.

Other: Great item, with a little rewiring, REALLY becomes useful.
