Pros: - Very nice build quality!
- Easy to use!
- You wont need any manual...
- very usefull for tecnincs or somewhat else...
- Show each connection with one light, very easy to identify the damaged contacts
Cons: No cons at all... maybe it could be a little cheaper, but its ok, great item!
Other: Great for those who works with network, phones, etc... and for the ones who just like it... like me!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Works like a charm - and it comes in a little case too - perfect to toss in the toolbox
Cons: At this price? None, really... But it would be cool if it had a mode where all the lights stayed on instead of scanning... you'd be able to wiggle-test the cables more easily.
Other: If you do any cabling or troubleshooting of cables, this is a no-brainer.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -Price is very low; -It came with a protective bag; -You coul test usb cables; -You can see the result of the test also on the receiver and this is very usefull when you have many cables to test and you have to do this job alone. Many professional tools don't have this feature.
Cons: At this moment I don't have any cons to report.
Other: For this price , this network tester is the best thing for any demand.

Pros: I bought it for my job. I work at school, and sometimes need to test some RJ45 or USB cables. And it takes its job. I tested usb and RJ45 crossed and straight cables, and only with 4 cores. and with works.
Cons: Build quality isn't best. Plastic looks little bit friable, like and on/off button. LED's could be brighter because at day time sometimes hard to see what is blinking and what isn't.
Other: Price rating is good. It can be better build quality, but still now its not brake for me.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: very easy to use, i didnt even to read the instructions, just put the battery and connected a cable, switched it on, and it works like a charm.
Cons: very cheap (other professional tools costs hundreds of dollars, but you ususally dont need all the extra features they offer, only the basic cable connectivity test)
Other: a very good and handy tool, for a very good price.
even if you dont need to use it on a daily basis, for this price it is worth to keep in the toolbox just for the time it saves when needed.

Pros: It works as advertised. Build quality is adequate, the plastic casing is not the best. Connectors feel sturdy enough. When a cable is tested, the LEDs on the device and on the remote end blink simultaneously when the internal connectors in the cable are connected. The LEDs blink one after the other, so the circuitry in the device is very simple. And there is a slow mode, where the LEDs blink.. slower. It works fine, and the price is unbeatable. The EXACT SAME MODEL costs 16.95 euros in The Netherlands.... That says enough, I think.
Cons: As said, the LEDs blink simultaneously, the slow mode is necessary. You need quite a lot of force to operate the ON-OFF button. I hope it will last long.. The battery compartment is too big for the 9V-battery, so the battery will move around in the space while operating the device. There is a soft piece of foam to protect the battery, but it doesn't cover the whole battery compartment. This doesn't affect the performance of the device, it just feels cheap.
Finally, I think the pouch for this device was black once, now it is black with some white spots because it is not very sturdy. It feels cheap and fragile.
Other: Don't expect any luxury for this price, just a device that does it's job.

Pros: I had bought this tester as a replacement for another one (more expensive) and I completely satisfied. Pieces can be attached to each other, so I have less chances to lost one from them (as I did with my previous tester). Case has place for small testing cable or additional battery. The best feature for me it's indicators on slave part, because I often test my networks alone. So, with this tester I spent less time to run between server room and user's workplaces.
Cons: Looks and feels cheap (not a big con, I suppose, especially for this price). Battery bay is too large (can be fixed easily with piece of paper).
Biggest surprise I had have when I tested network plug with Cisco switch on the other side. Tester showed that something exists, and port was shutdowned. Only our cisco admin had could turn on this port again. So, be careful with this device.
Other: Nice device for non-professional use.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Price is the main hit.
- Very easy to use.
- Comes with the feature to test even USB cables.
- Carrying pouch is useful too.
- Slow function is really necessary.
Cons: - The on off switch is hard.
- Build quality is below the average. (But for this price cant expect more).
- Battery room is too large so it may make some noise when you turn it around.
Other: It works as it should. Its better if it comes with smoother On/Off switch. Its very good product when you are learning to crimping tool. Who knows which pins got the good connection? Well this is the product you need.

Pros: Cheap, better and longer lasting than similar instruments I also had/used. Good for testing connectivity. Ground line is also tested. Have it for a year now, more than a thousand of cables tested. I didn't really test USB much.
Cons: Battery compartment too big for the battery - I glued a bit of sponge inside so it does not rattle. After much use, sometimes you have to press cable in to test it.
Other: If you need cheap cable tester, go for this. If you need pro stuff, than don't :)
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Easy to use, straightforward to use. Caught an accidental mis-wiring in 110 panel, without this, I could have potentially spent hours figuring out what was wrong. Comes with convenient caring pouch Cheaper than pro meter, still does a decent job given the price.
Cons: Wish I bought a model with more connectors, such as RG-11 Uses 9V battery
Other: Cheap, effective tool. Every wiring job needs this. Get this if you can't afford a real cable tester.
