RJ45/RJ11 Network and Telephone Cable Tester Keychain

Pros: - It's small and light - Has a detachable "terminator" It can test RJ45 - UTP and RJ11 - telephone cables/connectors. Usage couldn't be simpler, just plug in both sides of the cable press the button an watch the blinking lights.

Cons: To use the terminator you have to be in the same room or you can't see the results. The lights flash if they connect, but you don't see the order, for example if the cable is wired as crossover. the battery slot is almost too small fotr the 9v battery, had to push it in, but on the bright side - it doesn't rattle around.

Other: It's cheap and useful for quick testing the cable - easy to carry around. But if you need a more detailed tester this is not for you.

Pros: It definitely does the job. With that thing you can crimp your cables and know what you're doing... No surprise anymore when plugging the cables ^^! I like the way you can separate the two parts! Plug the little part (which doesn't need battery) in the another room: check this way your longer cables!

Cons: The build quality is really poor. I had a really hard time putting the battery in. I really thought I was not going to succeed, or I was going to break the whole thing! Although it went eventually alright, you can tell by looking at the item that the battery was forced in!

Pros: Simple cable tester. Works. Great for confirming your home-made cables are wired correctly.

Cons: Does not run advanced cable diagnostics ;)

Other: If you make your own cables, or wish to test if a cable is the cause of your networking troubles, this is the device for you.

Pros: - Works well for testing phone/network cables as well as checking that ports are wired correctly - Great for network testing as well as home cable crimpers/use

Cons: - Plastic is flimsy, inserting battery is harder than first though, think the battery back might break off next time I open it - No advanced tests, but for the price, good to carry on a keychain when you forget your equipment :)

Other: If you are a network admin, desktop support etc and test ports/cables regularly, this is a good backup device. If you are an electrician and wire up patch panels or make your own home networks, this can help

Pros: It works as advertised, helped me determine a bum cable in my network, is compact and is exceptionally low-priced.

Cons: Simple cheap design - Certainly won't replace a professional tester in your toolkit, but is handy to have as a backup.

Other: A good value in a simple tester. You don't always need a high-end test tool. This is so inexpensive, you can get multiples and keep 'em as backups.

Pros: It is a relatively nice, small, low cost tool and it can be separated to two parts!

Pros: i work as a low voltage technician and when my really expensive tester broke i decide to look for something cheaper. i found it.this small tester is perfect for my needs when working with rj-45 and rj-11 connectors.

Cons: build quality is not the best. first time i plugged an rj-45 in it i pushed the socket in, so i had to open it and put it back. this happened a few times now, and, even though it has it's own pocket in my tool bag it still come apart sometimes.

Other: it's not the best network/phone tester out there but for this price...u can't ask for more.

Other: * Great price for a very useful item. * Useful for testing network punchdowns after office renovation - showed mistakes and errors in contractors wiring.

Pros: It' very cheap and small, easy to carry anywhere. His funcionality is very simple and understandable. It have a ring to use it like a keychain. It's good to test long cables because you have two points where look the conectivity and if the cable is fine.

Cons: The quality of the chasis is very poor, I think that it could break easily. It haven't good terminations.

Other: I recomend this item 100%.

Pros: Easy to use it can't be simpler than this, Small compare to other rj45 testing tools, Gets the job done, Low price.

Cons: Fragile, Poor build quality, Lack in information, Battery compartment is quite annoying which makes it hard to get the battery in or out.
