Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: +Throws a lot of light on 3*AAA +Lens adjust has a large range (narrow to wide)
Cons: -Switch cycles all modes (High,Low,Flash) -Lens adjust is tight (only a problem if you have to readjust a lot) -Switch position in endcap is not handy if you need to switch it on/off a lot. You need two hands or hold it police style ;)
Other: A handy flashlight for multiple purposes.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very smooth operating, very nicely built. Looks like it cost much more. Nice spot on throw, nice round ring on flood. The modes cycle just by barely pressing the power button. Multiple power options is cool too. Fully O-ringed on both ends, and around the lens.
Cons: Hard to fit protected CR123A's, even the 18650's stick out a bit. Lots of spring to make up for that though.
Other: If this thing lasts as good as it looks, it is a super solid buy.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: --Solid Build, nice use of battery configurations: the aaa mode being the best, Fully O-ringed, Stylish, Smooth paint Job must be, Ha II coating which reduces scratches.
Cons: Strobe mode is not Fast as described it's very slow. Led does not fully collimate to throw mode.
An R2 led would much better be suited for this light. Low mode is very similar to High mode. The lanyard is flimsy nylon rope that breaks away in a few weeks of use. The aaa battery configuration is by far the best. 18650 barely fits in there and 2- 123a batteries is a bit much for a Q5 light. A glass optic lens would be really nice in this light.
Other: This is an actual light from DX that I didn't have to clean and adjust to get it to work properly. Romisen makes a quality flashlight, with a few tweaks this light could be really great.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Well built - when you hold it it feels the quality
Great light - 3 steps of light (strong, weak, strobo)
Very easy to use it, you don't need a manual or smth like that
Cons: Just 2 small cons :
You have to turn alot to get it from wide to focused light
And the battery doesn't get in the right place in the first try.
Other: Great flash light, lot's of uses, i've puted it on my bike and i feel like driving a car with that light :d
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: very good quality and very well made.
the longest flood to throw adjustment, (around 17-mm range).
Cons: you HAVE TO replace aspherical lens PERIOD, with SKU:5927, ONLY $1.92. if not this flashlight useless...
Other: THE-BEST FLOOD-TO-THROW POCKET-FLASHLIGHT.
FOCAL-POINT to THE WIDEST FLOOD FLASHLIGHT (17-MM range adjustment)...
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Great bright light here. Only 3 modes to fool with. This light is able to use 3 different battery sets, That alone makes this light a plus to own. Workman ship, seems Great, looks sharp.
Throw light holds good pattern.
Flood covers good area.
Good color to beam, white light.
Connections all seem tight and clean.
Single click, half click can be used to cycle modes.
Light in actual weight.
Good grip surface on light case.
Cons: Strobe is slow, needs to speed up to be effective.
Not much difference between bright and dim set.
I really don't trust the hand cord.
On flood and throw there is a slight outter ring.
Anti roll grooves on head barely work, it will roll off
This switch does NOT cycle back to Bright mode when turned off, remember to leave the mode cycle where you want it when it's turned back on.
Other: I recommend this light to all. For the price I can't see anybody beating this product. I bought one for my wife to keep in her purse. She also loves this light and shows it off to her friends.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very bright light. 3 different battery configurations. Very good materials. 3 modes. Flood to throw, really long distance. This flashlight really throw the light far. It´s waterproof*
Cons: Strobe mode is very slow. This light has memory, when you turn off it, it remember the mode, I don´t like this very much... The optical lens is not real glass but makes its function.
Other: This flashlight really throw the light far, it´s a great thrower and a great flooder in one, and it´s waterproof, I have dipped in water and not go inside. I´m satisfied with it because is a very good flashlight for this price.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very bright light. supports 3 different types of batteries. bring adapters for different types of batteries good quality materials. Waterproof. Q5 led one of the best of Cree, and can be replaced for R5 if you want.
Cons: Has three modes HI/MID/FAST STROBE and I don´t like that, I prefer only 1, on/off This light has memory, when you turn off it, it remember the mode for approximately 60 seconds.
Other: I really like, has been a very good buy. the best flood to throw flashlight
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: You can focus until you see the format of the LED projected, if the surface is a wall for instance. Convex lens are good because you can have a wide and totally clean beam.
Cons: Don't see any cons, there could be another color instead of orange. they could make like desert camouflage color or rain forest camo, it would be attractive for sure
Other: If you need a good and versatile flashlight and is low of cash this could be a good one. i haven't had any problems with mine till now.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: + Build quality of the body is fantastic
+ Bright and compact
+ Great flood to throw adjustment
+ Some battery versatility (1x18650 or 3xAAA)
Cons: - Plastic lens does not do it justice. There are significant transmittance losses and a generally unequal spot
- Used it once so far as a bicycle headlight on my 15km commute. Something is loose in there, as the torch would jump from high to low to strobe as the bike hit the road bumps. Didn't happen all the time, but it did happen. It can be the battery losing contact or the pill or some loosely soldered wire. Regardless, this may be a one off problem with my unit or a general issue. Anyone else?
Other: Overall a very good, bright and well built flashlight, with lots of flood to throw adjustment. It needs some improvements, but I would buy again.
