  • Great light, very happy

Pros: - Looks very, very similar to SKU 18307, except one dollar cheaper!
    - Nice solid metal casing which is significantly better than anything I've used before...
    - The light is very bright, probably visible during the day time. Not sure about usage in trails, but it is certainly perfect for commuting in the streets.

Cons: - The clamp is pretty ordinary. I had to use a razor slice a few millimetres to make sure the light slid on correctly. I get a bit anxious riding it on a bumpy ride - I haven't had it fall off yet... I'm considering taping it down just for peace of mind.

Other: For the price you can't really argue. I'm getting some rechargeable batteries to go along with it.

  • Excellent mini-light for your bike!

Pros: The lamp itself feels very solid and well made.; it's at par with the smallest Maglites. It's very bright, actually so bright that it left me blind for some time with I look straight into it :) The design seems water-proof.

Cons: The holder feels extremely cheap when compared to the lamp itself. The clip mechanism feels like it'll come apart in the near future and the mounting screw doesn't feel too strong either. The lamp takes 4 AAA batteries, and they won't last too long.

Other: Good quality product for the price; I've seen similar flash lights go for 15-20 euros around here, so this was certainly a bargain.

  • Great Bike Light / Flashlight

posted by coflynn on 04:56:33 G11T 20/11/2009 certificated customer

Pros: -Very bright for just commuting use
    -Solid construction
    -Good mounting bracket for price

    Cons: -Battery usage
-Ring on side is just silver, thought it might light up

Other: Great deal, get some rechargeable batteries. I got 4x AAA soshine and soshine charger. Total cost of batteries + charger + light is less than just buying a similar light locally!
Mount is a lot better than most to be honest. Last cheap light I had the mount broke being installed. Might want to chuck some tape on as a backup still, but can't complain.
Makes a good flashlight too, can keep it around home for normal use and slap on bike when in use!
And if you mount it upside down on handlebars hopefully won't break off when you wipe out...

  • Great light for price

Pros: This light is much brighter than my 9LED light I bought for 20$ locally.
I can see much further on the road & get good shine back on RetroReflectors way up the road.
The spot is good & I can glare those car drivers that dont dip their headlights soon enough.

Cons: The light didnt work when I first tried it. The springs on the battery holder don't align well to the contact PCB. I bent the springs to better align & it works ok.
The plastic holder that is screwed to the body was also loose(screws were tight) so I placed a plastic spacer (cut some sheet 0.25mm) under this & it is now firm. The light beam is now steady. (alternatively I could have just uses M3 taptite screws to hold this bit on).

Other: I would recommend this bike light for street use, I ride about 5 klm in dark to work & the light makes me safer than previous light.

  • Bad design

Pros: Bright enough (if it works). Two modes. Metal casing. Sideways adjustable handlebar mount.

Cons: Two springs makes contact with the LED unit and the battery casing - these springs will bend when the LED unit is screwed in place, making the contacs very unreliable. Mine stopped after replacing the batteries the second time. Water sealing is just a joke - I wouldn't expect it to last a rain shower.

Other: Do not buy if you're not up to some DIY-ing.

  • Quite bright but mounting is very cheap plastic

posted by drpsht on 05:10:32 G7T 26/07/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Cheap, decent light output, works with low batteries (<1V), left-right angle adjustable mounting (if it would work)

Cons: The mounting is all cheap flimsy plastic, it's ok for city use, but when gunning down the mountain I don't want this to light up my way. I superglued the left-rigt adjustment, it kept moving when I barely touched it. Also added a spacer to the sliding mount so it would't have any play. Also, the fixing screw has no "tight" feeling, you just screw it on until it starts deforming the plastic holder and f*ck evryting up. Eats batteries pretty fast (was to be expected, it also put up some decent light) Too much throw, not much flood - I was actually considering sanding the transparent plastic "lens".

Other: Decent for the price. If you don't mind fixing it here and there, it's worth the money.

  • Accepts 4 pieces of batteries!

posted by cciRRus on 05:56:20 G10T 01/10/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The main advantage of this light is it accepts 4 batteries. The other similar products take in 3 batteries, which is a hassle. Batteries usually come in even-number packs.
The light is bright, really bright.

Cons: Build quality is quite bad. The rear cap fell off a couple of times. But it can be repaired easily. Please take care when you remove the cap to replace the batteries.
The label at the side looks ugly. I would be scraping off the label.

Other: Get this light if you are like me, wanting a light that accepts 4 batteries instead of the usual 3!
