Scart DVB-T Digital Terrestrial Receiver + USB PVR with Remote Control

Pros: + I plugged it in, did an automatic search and got all programs available.
+ Connected an external hard disk (1,8", needs to be fat32) and was able to record, timeshift and play.
+ Records transport stream.
+ Plays mpeg2 videos (with mp3 audio track).
+ Picture is nice (on an old CRT set).
+ 16:9 TVs are supported.

Cons: - Does not play AC3 audio, mp3 works.
- ntfs support would have been nice.

Other: If mpeg2 is all you need, this might be useful. If the analog signal is switched off in your area, this prevents your old TV set becoming useless.

Pros: - The build quality is good.
- It detects the several channels with good reception quality.
- Radio and tv channels are in different lists so you don't need to organize them.
- You can schedule your records.

Cons: - You can´t change the channel order.
- It doesn't reproduce AC3 sound files, so last generatios .avi movies are muted.
- External usb HDD aren't supported.

Other: Buy it if you need record programs from DVB-T and you don't mind the recording quality. It is a good alternative to old VHS recorders.

Pros: -Good DVB-T receiver (it respect standards so like in France when they change some frequences some of cheap decoder won't works, this one causes no problem)
-Compact : hidden on the rear of the TV you just can see the IR receptor on the front
-Support larges hard drives to record programs
-Can read Xvid on the usb port !
-you can program recordings

Cons: -one tuner only : so you have to watch what you are recording, but for the price just buy 2 !
-Reading of xvid don't respect ratios (but is it really a problem when the product is not really designed to do this ?)
-IR sensitivity is not really good you have to be in front of it

Other: Very surprised by this decoder, originally i bought it only to decode tv, but finally i use it as a real home theater !

Pros: In my area this works with a mini antenna wich you normaly get with your usb dvb-t stick. Pvr function works nicely. You can set it to record from the EPG. The recorded video can then be played back on a computer. In my case i used Vlc media player. The menu and chanel surfing works smoothly and nice.

Cons: The cover of the power adaptor came lose when i tried to pull it out of the outlet. Hard drives and usb-sticks need to be fat32 and the harddrive needs an external powersupply to work.(Does not work with pocket drives wich are powered by usb.) Sometimes when i have had it running for a couple of minutes there apeared blue stripes on the screen. This is however fixed easily by restarting the device with the remote. another problem i´ve been having is that it looses the reception totaly and goes black when i start the device. To fix this you need to pull the plug and put it back and do a new chanel search.

Other: I think this device is worth the money despite some of the flaws i´ve mentioned. This device is cheaper than most usb stick´s here.

Pros: - Good quality of build
- Very easy to install (realy plug-n-play)
- Easy to use
- Support Russian language for menus, EPG and subtitles
- Very good of antena signal sensitivity
- TV/Radio recording to FLASH drive (up to 2Gb capacity)

Cons: - MPEG2 DVB-T only
- Don't support HDTV
- Problems with 16:9 screen resolution
- Firmware upgrade is possible, but very hard to find new versions

Other: Not suitable for DVB-T TV in Moscow (8 HDTV chanels in MPEG2), Russia. Radio only (6 chanels). You can use any UHV antena for working with this device.

Pros: + Nice and easy user interface. Quite good remote, albeit small. Doesn't need to be aimed too precisely. IR receiver is also small enough.
+ Pretty sensitive tuner, as good as Nokia 9828T
+ Quite fast when channel surfing
+ Supports multiple USB devices when used with USB hub.
+ Build quality seems sturdy, not like usual china stuff that breaks in pieces when handled.

Cons: - AVI support seems somewhat lacking, aspect ratio metadata has to be set with for example MPEG4 Modifier, otherwise it stretches video to full screen. No AC3 decoding, altough according to datasheet the chipset should support it.
- Can only record the channel you are currently watching
- Some of the translations are strange.
- DVB-subtitles are sometimes slow to show up
- Scart connector part is too bulky to fit all TV-sets without modification, I had to cut a piece off around the socket on my old Salora 21K70.
- Has crashed couple of times, particularly in video player app.

Other: Very capable unit for the price, apart from problems with xvid playback...

Pros: Very easy to install and setup. Supports USB flash with FAT32 FS. Xvid, AC3 etc. Pictures, Music. Works with any TV antenna (in and out for another TV)

Cons: 4:3 is not so good for movies (TV is ok) it's more like 16:9 stretched into 4:3 (movies should be converted). Find a good antenna before buying this item for better signal strength or there is frame-drop. There is firmware upgrade but no ssu-s on the net. (should paste some in the manual)

Pros: product comes in a very nice box. contains a set top box, power cord, manual, USB cable. Once connected, set the language, so it works without any problems, very good price for such equipment.

Cons: must always be connected to the outlet. nahraávání on my USB flash drive, more able, and stuck with it.

Other: I recommend to all, very good price, everything works as intended, many functions and settings. I did not expect it to be so good. also has a remote control so you can switch programs from the comfort of your couch :-).

Pros: I have this receiver more than half year. All functions working without problem. Recording on extenall HDD 160GB Toshiba is excellent, the player knows place, where the broadcasting was interrupted and next time starts from the same place.

Cons: When you record on HDD, you must connect externall 5V power source for power HDD. This receiver have weak current for power HDD. Recording on flash disk is okay without external power source. Also sensitivity signal is a bit weak than others receivers.

Other: It is good receiver for older TV sets without own digital tuner.

Pros: Great product for a low price. The build quality is really good, better than I expected. Read video in Xvid/DivX from a USB memory stick without problems. Subtitles works fine.

Cons: No HDTV support. No MPEG4 support, aparently, but not important for me. In the unit I received, the remote sensor was bigger than the one in the pictures, and covered with a dark red transparent plastic, making it ugly in my opinion.

Other: Buy it.
