What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Build seems solid.
Good amount of Torque. Enough to do most things you would expect of a servo this size.
Does everything you want a servo to do.
Cons: Arm was quite hard to seat on the cog.
Gears are plastic and look quite weak. Though they have not caused me an issue so far.
Other: Nothing special, but a good little general purpose servo.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: I bought one of these servos to use in a paintball dropping system for my RC plane, and I am so impressed that I am ordering several more. These servos have very good build quality, and there is very little jitter (I am controlling them with an arduino). And, they are cheap enough that you can leave them embedded in projects rather than reusing them.
Cons: .
Other: I haven't seen my servo fail yet, but I'm not sure whether I would trust one of these on a control surface (elevator/rudder/aileron). However, for auxiliary uses such as bomb dropping they cannot be beat.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Cheap Acceptable quality Good for experiments and small hobby projects torque and plastic gear quality seems good for price
Cons: Hard to place and remove arms. Unable to center arm Considerable jitter and noise Off center by 5-10 degrees When set to 0 degrees it goes beyond and when set at 180 degrees does not reach it by 15-20 degrees.
Other: if you buy a lot for bulk price it is good value
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Good price-to-quality ration. Does what is expected. small, light.
Cons: This item is shipped with 3 screws (two bigger and one smaller screw). To fix the arm to the servo, it needs to be screwd tightly. The shipped big screw is too long to do the work. And the shipped small screw is too thin to hold properly.
Other: Affordable toy, but don't rely on this with anything pricey (e.g. helicopter). I used these attached to a FPGA board, and they work pretty well.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: When they work, they are neat: small, light, cheap, with good torque, and fairly easy to mod into a geared reversible DC motor, which is how I used mine.
Cons: Weakly built. By the looks of it, the pot is the weakest part. One out of three I have came with a faulty pot and wasn't usable as is. Other problems: when they work, they are not very precise, rather noisy for the size, somewhat slow.
Other: Rather versatile and cheap, but definitely not heavy duty. Good tool for beginning robotic projects.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very small, quite powerful. No noticeable gear backlash. Quite fast. Small amount of overshoot, if any. Very good value for the price!
Cons: Like others said, the arms are a bit hard to get on, and the knurling (to stop them slipping on the shaft) means you can only set them to about 10 degrees. Not a big deal, but you have to be a bit careful installing the arms so you don't damage the servo.
Other: Nice unit. I'm using a pair to control a web camera, and they seem to work fine. Will see how good they work outside in the winter! I may buy some more just to play with.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - it's very good for testing and learning. - It's small and ease to use (like other servo)
Cons: - Only test and learn: I'm not an expert, but i think you cant get more from this servo. - You cant attach this servo to an estructure. - No documentation!! (difficult to find on internet.)
Other: I use with arduino (one), on pin 9. You can test with the example "Sweep". It works
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -Perfect for little DIY projects
-Works perfectly with Arduino boards
-Light weight
-Good building materials
-Good wire and conection
-Quick response
Cons: -Not good for especific works
-It don't turn all the degrees that it may(not 180º, maybe 165-170º)Built entirely with plastic
-Built entirely with plastic; it's not really bad but some part in metal could work better.
Other: -Good price-quaility relationship.
If you want to start with servos, it's the cheapest.
I recommend it for starting and for prototyping.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - It is really, really cheap. - Servo works great. - It is very small, but solid. - Perfect for beginners and small projects. - It is good to lerning. - There is few gears in the set.
Cons: Cable could be little longer. It could be packed in a small box or additional layer of bubble wrap.
Other: The device is working properly and quickly, just as it should. You do not buy anything better at a lower price. Item is very good. You would not regret. I highly recommand this product!!!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It works! It is good for learning on how they work and how to control it via arduino for example Price is great. It really has a lot of tourque (around 2kg), at least my sample.
Cons: Solder is not good. When I plugged it in it did not work. I opened it up and saw that solder broke loose at the motor. Also if you are going to use it with arduino USB alone was not enough for me, had to introduce external power supply to the arduino. Not sure if it is capable of covering full 180 degrees.
Other: For the money it costs it is ok. It is great for a start.
