  • Great deal, huge improvement!

Pros: I replaced my 7300GT fan with this and huge improvement! I was getting ~60ºC under load and now I get ~40ºC. My card is only a few months old too, so I don't think the old fan was getting worn out or anything.

Cons: For me, the power plug wouldn't fit, so I had to splice it into the old plug. Not a big deal for me, but make sure to look at your plug and make sure it matches if you don't know how to solder.

A little difficult to figure out how to install it, as it was much different than the stock cooler and the instructions were a little vague, but it wasn't too bad, it really only installs one way.

Other: Great deal if your card is running unusually hot, but make sure it will fit your card and the fins won't hit any of the components on the board.

  • Inexpensive video card cooler

Pros: Quiet fan and keeps video card cool. Installed on GeForce4 Ti4200 to replace broken fan. Mounting bracket very strong. I used a screwdriver to hold bolt through hole during installation.

    Cons: None

Other: Buy it if you need it.

  • Excellent fan!

Pros: The small and noisy HSF on my 7600GT had me on my nerves for several months as it was heating a lot (above 65ºC). Once I removed it and installed this card, my temps dropped to a whopping 53ºC !! Under load it is always below 65ºC. I just love this cooler, and it is less noisier than my old one.
It has several holes for it to fit in different sizes of cards.

Cons: Might be difficult to fit on some cards because of RAM heatsinks. I had to bend some of the fan's blades so that it gets in between the blades of the RAM heatsinks. I got lucky but on some cards it may not fit.
Instructions a bit confusing at first but easily followed.

Other: Definitely i spent my money well. It really helped with my cooling problem. Hightly recommended for anyone wanting to change their HSF without spending a fortune.

  • Not bad for the money, better than stock!

Pros: Light, reasonably well finished for the price (no sharp edges/ loose fittings) and rather quiet-I can't hear it over my 3x60mm case fans also from here, the clear ones with blue LEDs.

Cons: The +'ve/ -'ve leads were the wrong way for my Triplex x1650 Pro so I popped them out by releasing the clips in the plug (look carefully and you'll see them!), as I had to do on another cheapo VGA heatsink, and now it pushes air through it's many slim Aluminium fins as it's desinged to do! Dual slot design won't suit 100% of interested parties (i.e. SFF users with agp/ PCI-E slot near their case cover).

Other: Bargain heatsink, what are you waiting for?!

  • An excellent heatsink and fan for the money

posted by Yangorang on 15:00:23 G8T 01/08/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: This is an extremely good heatsink for the price you are paying for it. I am using it on a Leadtek PCIe 6600GT and on stock cooling it used to get to about 90C! Now with this cooler I can get about that same cooling performance even if I remove the fan and with the fan I can keep the card 60C or under.
The fan is very quiet in my opinion, not silent, but very quiet.
I also have some little memory heatsink and this heatsink/fan blow air perfectly across them and helps cool those as well.

Cons: The power connector was a bit funny but it fit.
How the fan is screwed into the heatsink is a bit funny as well...but it also works...
The base finish leaves much to be desired as well, but fortunately I had a heatsink lapping kit around and this heatsink's base can be very easily lapped and polished to a nice mirror finish. It was a little bit difficult to install.

Other: A perfect little upgrade if you want to save money and get good cooling over stock solutions. This is of course aimed for mid-range cards. (6600GT, 7600GS, etc. not HD 4850)
    Another great deal from DealExtreme!

  • Great video card HSF for price

    posted by Nigel1 on 18:41:42 G8T 07/08/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The fan is great, very functional and the best thing is it works to cool the video card.
Comes with everything needed for install, including thermal paste

Cons: The install pics could of been larger and a bit clearer. Doesn't say which screw goes where.
The fan connector is smaller than the socket on my 6600gt vid card. it fit onto the pins but it was very tight.

Other: If you have a dead or noisy fan on your video card, you should replace it with this. For the price this card is definately the best arround. It will fit multiple video cards and installation is fairly straight forward. Just make sure the longer screws are in the back of vid card.

  • A fine cooler, bad instructions.

posted by viperper on 11:15:07 G8T 13/08/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: About 5-7 degrees cooler than stock at least, very good for replacing my x800xt's dead fan, now I won't be underclocking the card because of the dead fan of the stock cooler.

Cons: Ridiculously bad instructions, where you have no idea which screw to use. Low quality thermal grease, better use something else. Some bent aluminum fins, and rusty screw socket.

Other: Very good for replacing dead heatsink/fans Not worth the trouble if your fansink still works, since usually they are either old card, or new but weak card anyway.

  • Great Cooler

posted by draggonfly on 19:04:36 G2T 17/02/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Great price, great cooling, sleeve bearing fan, sort of universal design.

Cons: Really Crappy instructions, not very polished base, so its pretty rugged. pink package? The fan header is not necessarily universal.

Other: Good cooler, cheap price, has flaws, but easily fixable. the Sleeve fan is a plus for me, more oiling, but silent operation.

  • Great value, but poor instructions

posted by fattytapper on 22:55:45 G2T 26/02/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: If you can wait for the shipping, these are very good for the money. I had two 7300GT and one 7600GT from EVGA that had the fans go out, yes all three! I won't be buying any more EVGA cards.
    Works great, pretty silent operation.

Cons: The instructions are terrible, I consider myself a very technical guy, but it took me 1 hour to put on the first one. Even after it was on, I wasn't sure that was the way it was suppose to be. But after everything is said and done, I have 3 working (silent) video cards.

Other: Great price, no tax or shipping fee. Just can't beat that.

  • It does quite a good job.

posted by vsukwizard on 10:27:49 G5T 28/05/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It does a good job even after I modified it and it was very easy it fit thanks to all the required bit being included.
    It is also very quiet.

Cons: The area that contacts the chip is very rough and needed a little work to get smooth but if you look at the design and price you can understand the reason.
The fan runs a little too slow so the card does get warmer than with other fans.

Other: The performance is not there for hardcore gaming so if you dont push your card hard all the time this is for you. I played COD4 and watch Debbie does Dallas and thinks started getting a little hot.
