Pros: Works smoothly on 4x300Gb RAID at Windows 2003 Server SP1. No errors, High speed.
Cons: dont know yet
Other: Highly recomended

Pros: first i put the Silicon Image 4-Port SATA PCI Expansion Card into my old XP computer and it is working flawless with 2* 500GByte HDD at high speed, without any problems at all. If you were looking for a SATA card, go and get this one.
Cons: No problems known for this fine Silicon Image 4-Port SATA PCI Expansion Card so far.
Other: I would recomend this card!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It does it's supposed to do. Can't comment on the RAID features because I only have one 640GB hard drive hooked up. Not having any problems with it and performs at comparable speeds to the built in SATA on my motherboard.
Cons: It was VERY difficult to plug this into the PCI slot. My card seemed to be a bit too thick at one end so I had to force it into the PCI slot, but it still doesn't fit all the way in and the gold connections are still sticking out a bit (even though it's not fully plugged in, it's operating the way it should be). This is not a fault of my motherboard.
Other: I'm definitely not happy with the build quality, but it's getting the job done.

Pros: Kinda cheap for 4 extra SATA connectors comapared to other cards selled locally where i live.
Cons: Hard to fit, my first time ever i have to use a file on any hardware to get clearance enought to get the card to fit in the pci port.
Driver cd is loaded with drivers for many other cards, so if you are a "noob" with computer hardware its easy to get lost here.
Other: The price is about one third of the price for an "original" Promise controller i fitted recently, that one has only 2 sata connectors.
Also, the Promise controller needed an oldfashioned diskette to get the drivers proper installed(Who uses 3.5" diskettes now these days???)
Overall, an ok card, but build quality could be better.

Pros: Very cheap for 4 SATA ports! I've got shops selling this with 2 ports for twice the price. Team this up with the SATA data and power cables on DX and you're on your way to setting up yourself a cheap file server from an old computer.
Cons: As others have noticed, one of the PCI card's "gaps" are too small to fit into a PCI slot. I had to file it to make the gap bigger.
Other: Dirt cheap and does exactly what its supposed to. I'm using this in Ubuntu 8.04 (non RAID) with two 500GB Samsung drives. Worked out of the box without any changes.

Pros: It's very cheap and works as it should. Easy to install. There was 2 sata cabels with the package. Good chipset. Can use both with raid or without.
Cons: Tight fit. You have to carefully force it in the pci slot. Can't use large harddrives than 500 Gb, maybe a firmware upgrade can change that.
Other: Cheap, good and reliable. Very easy to configure. You get 2 sata cabels with the card. Just remember max 500 Gb harddrives.

Pros: Works with my 4 WD 1TB Greenpower drives.
Cheap compared to major retailers.
Cons: A little effort to slot the PCI card in.
Requires a flashing for 1TB drives to be detected.
Flashing is to be done in DOS mode.
Other: The cheapest PCI 4 port SATA Raid card i can find which can work with 1TB drives.
Probably the cheapest way to build a NAS if you have an old P4 or even P3 lying around. Speed is more than enough for home use.

Pros: 1. The cheapest SATA card using Silicon Image chip
2. Supports several RAID settings
3. Supports 750G or larger HD after upgrading BIOS
4. Stable, no issues once it starts to work
Cons: 1. Card didn't work first time after plugging into the PCI slot. After clean the board carefully, works as it supposes
2. Hard to plug into the PCI slot
Other: Cheap, works like any other SATA RAID card plus Silicon Image firmware and software
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very cheep card, with supports to several RAID settings and will supports 750Gb or larger HD after firmware upgrade done using DOS.
Cons: 1. Did not work at the first time. It was not well plugged into the PCI slot. After some pressure over the PCI board the card has been recognize during boot.
2. During first boot under VISTA the system hangs during the Automatic Driver install.
3. The CD that comes with the RAID utility was unreadable in my DVD. Need to use my laptop to access that. But the CD is not necessary. Windows will recognize and download the correct driver.
Other: Build quality could be better, but for this price is understandable. Very Cheep. Very useful. Will give for your OLD PC some storage instead of purchase a new mother board. A very good choice.

Pros: Works great. Currently have 2x1GB HDD's connected and have not had any issues. Great for when you run out of SATA ports. Will definitely buy a few of these when i get round to building my NAS. Takes up very little space inside the PC.
Cons: Requires a firmware upgrade to support 750GB or greater HDD. Very easy to do this. Boot XP into Safe mod with command prompt and execute the upgrade exe file.
Other: Great, cheap SATA card. Will definitely buy more of these in the future.
