    Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: Picks up sound in general area and amplifies it to help with hearing. Lots of batteries - easily removed. Great case. Good option for ear pieces. several sizes available.

    Cons: Amplifies all sound, so can be a bit annoying in a crowd situation, but perfect for intimate dinners etc.

    Other: I bought this for myself, and after showing my Dad, he ended up going home with it. I now need to buy another for myself. Definately worth it - even as a stepping stone towards getting a medical hearing aid.
