Solder Tip Refresher

Pros: good price, works well.

Cons: hard to open. i mean they even have to include some double sided tape so you have stationise this somewhere so that you can then pull the cap off. the bottom section is soo small that you cant get a hold off

Pros: Wow this thing will bring back to life any old tip! Simply awesome! Just heat up the iron and dunk it in and tada super clean tip that will wet properly. Will help out reduce cold joints.

Cons: Rather expensive for the small amount. I was expecting the container to be a little bigger. Maybe you could offer 3 packs?

Other: If you do a lot of soldering, you *need* one of these! I'll definitely be buying more of these in the future!

Pros: Quickly and easily retins solder iron tips. After tinning, it's so much easier to solder (like a new iron, w/o all the oxidation). Definitely necessary if you solder at all (even once a month or less like me).

Cons: Top comes off easily, always falling off when I store the case somewhere. Case is small, a little larger than about 3-4 quarters stacked. That said, I've used about 5% of mine so far.

Other: I'd get it. Makes soldering easier.

Pros: As soon as I arrived the subject, I was a little puzzled (was smaller than as appears in the photos), I followed the simple instructions in the package included e. .. I was very satisfied with the result! the tip of the solder is practically same as just bought!

Cons: not very cheap but it's worth!

Other: Do not be fooled by the small size! the product contained enough for many cleaning operations! BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: - This thing is just awesome, it has fixed all of my old and "dead" soldering tips.
- Very easy to use.

Cons: - Smaller tin than expected, but the statement "a little goes a long way" holds true in this case.
- A little bit expensive.

Other: Never suffer from a oxidized soldering tip again!

Pros: Cleans up solder tips very well.
Package seems small, but a little goes a long way.
It has a little stick pad on the bottom - i've affixed this to the base of my soldering iron so it does not get lost, and is always ready to use.

Cons: None really - this product does the job. I suppose it could be cheaper.

Other: If you do any amount of soldering, then you need this product. It is a bit like flux, and solder - everyone who solders should have this as a standard tool.
Oxidized tips do not transfer heat well, and you could end up damaging whatever you are soldering because of this.

Pros: -Cleaned my Really old dirty soldering iron tip, it works way better now and it's all shiny and clean
-Really easy to use, just dip it in the tin and melt the stuff around the tip, and it comes out like new
-Small tin, but should work out to several uses

Cons: -You get a small amount
-It's a bit expensive

Other: Great product! I hope DX gets more good stuff like this.

Pros: Finally got it! Works realy well! It even plated the bare copper where the iron started to peal. I have a Portasol butane iron and it's heads are pretty expensive and hard to find. This stuff is great!

Cons: Small amount, but looks like it will last at least ten uses. It is priced a bit high.
Hard to get the right temp. The stuff needs to melt, bubble a bit, but not burn and blacken.
Make sure to ventilate your working space! Releases ammonia gas when used!
Not really a con but it comes in a taller cylinder container rather than the flatter pebble shape one pictured.

Other: A great way to restore your dead soldering heads! I little bit goes a long way so it's worth it!

Pros: Nice product, Just use it.
It helped my solder station and a few older solder iron.
I got 5 old solder iron, now they are all clean and shinny. It worth the money.

Cons: Shipping is longer than claimed.
I ordered on Jan-26, and it was shipped on Feb-03, it is longer than claimed 3 days.
Would recommend claim shipping after a week or something similiar for accurate estimate shipping time.

Other: Once DX carry the tips and more solder supplier, I will order all my solder related staff from DX.

Bottom line is: if you get a lower price, I will buy more.

Pros: -works better then local stuff and will clean your iron instantly improving the life of your tips.
-comes with this sticky thing on the bottom to stick it on your soldering stand
-cheaper then local stores which sell ones like this for around $15 Canadian.

Cons: -small tin but this stuff lasts for months if used regularly and years if used occasionally.
-price is good but not "extreme." i'd still buy it otherwise but if you took off a 75 cents i'd be really happy :)

Other: buy it. it's cheep and you can get allot more out of your iron without spending money on tips
