Stainless Steel 1/4'' D-Ring Screw for Tripod - Silver

Pros: It is made of solid looking metal, I don't know if it is stainless. The floppy part flaps freely. The threads are clean and screws easily into a tripod mount. It is what it is; good, strudy quality.

Cons: The length of the post could be longer. This isn't really a con as the dimensions are posted and I should have known better, but it isn't long enough for me purposes (going through a Velbon quick release plate). I ordered 2, one of them was perfect the other had some strange machine marks on the metal surface... It doesn't effect the function of the item, but maybe it's a QC issue? Finally, the dowel pins that hold the flappy arm part to the rest of the screw look a little flimsy. I would have used a solid metal post, but the manufacturer opted to use a roll pin. It will likely not break easily regardless, but it's note worthy.

Other: This is a great addition to a tripod quick release plate if using a strap that hangs the camera upside down next to you (also available on DX!). It's sturdy enough that I hang my camera from it all the time. I give it a test tug everytime I'm about to use it just in case it's about to fail. I wish the post was longer though.
