Star N9776 Android 4.1 WCDMA Smartphone w/ 6.0" Capacitive Screen, Wi-Fi, GPS and Dual-SIM - Black

Pros: For the price this is a really good phone. It uses android 4.1.1 and does everything that I need it to. It has played all games that I've put on there without a problem (GTA III and Sims Freeplay work flawlessly). Live wallpapers are really smooth camera is great and productivity apps work well with it too (using documents to go and kingsoft office). The screen is bright even on the lowest level of brightness, and sound is clear too...occasionally when playing music on highest volume it can become a little distorted...but this is only if it's on LOUD, which can easily be adjusted with the tilt volume on the side. I was previously using a HTC wildfire and this is a major step up. It came with a screen protector but not with a case (unlike SKU: 172447, although I am not convinced that that phone is the same). The battery of the phone give about 2 days usage with wifi and data on, syncing exchange email, calendar and contacts, gmail, gcalendar & google music.

Cons: I've looked into updating the rom to use Cyanogen Mod instead of the rom that it comes with the phone however I've been unsuccessful in finding a compatible rom for the chipset. In the UK the TV CatchUp app loads and plays the sound of the video but not always the video (although I think this is an app problem more so than a phone issue, seems to be something to do with the ads). May sound stupid but the phone is a little large, however can still fit in pocket and the size and performance really is the main benefit however I think it will take my hand a little while to adjust. Removing the back of the phone was a bit of a concern as it felt quite flimsy...I don't think it would snap as it's quite flexi, but I do feel the need to say a little prayer before I remove the back. When plugged in the PC via USB the touch screen goes mental unless the display is turned off...haven't yet managed to select that I want to transfer stuff from PC to phone via USB...looking for a fix for this.

Pros: A good phone for the price and a real option for those who dont want to spent a lot of € in a Samsung. Its fast enought and the 6" screen look fine and smooth. Wifi , phone , battery and 3G working fine too. Buen telefono si no quieres gastarte una pasta en Samsungs o tener dos años de permanencia. Es bastante rapìdo y la pantalla se ve cojonuda y se mueve rapido. Lo demas funciona correctamente , wifi , 3G , telefono , etc

Cons: Main camara goes a little "slow" Needs a long micro-usb (included) La camara va un poco lenta Necesita usar solo el conector usb incluido , los de tamaño estandar tropiezan con la carcasa.

Pros: A very light, cheap and reasonably well constructed device, although a tad on the large side, and very easy to use once you get used to the interface. Comfortable to hold (I have large hands) and the screen is a delight to look at.

Cons: Doesn't come with a protective case, and the adapter was not suited for my country (Australia), but that problem was easily resolved. Screen protector scratches a little too easily.

Other: A good value for money multi-purpose device which I am very happy to own.

Pros: - Great OS, no flaw found yet - Nice design & sturdy construction (except for the back that kinda follow the SGS Note's thin case design) - Great battery, got 2, even greater - Double sim card, extreme comfort on choosing best for data and for call - FM Radio, yayyyyy - Powerful graphic, so far runs all my HD

Cons: - Could really use a desktop charger so I can just switch batteries when low - Android note without a stylus? a bit awkward don't u think? - Comes without any microSD :(

Other: Worth every penny..thinking of becoming a reseller :D

Pros: Voice clarity when using phone is exceptional. Only owned this phone for a few weeks but so far it has been brilliant. Totally problem free. Battery life appears to be good even with wireless connection left on.

Cons: Don't have any cons so far.

Other: Believe me this phone is big. If you have tiny hands then you are going to need them both to use this phone. I Love It, Love It, Love It. I am almost tempted to buy another though I don't know what I would do with two of them.

Cons: Proximity sensor works horribly, since you can't disable it, I just massively over calibrated it, so that it can never be activated. Screen has little white blobs all over it, (white pixels). Screen protector had glitter inside of it, replacing was a nightmare. The micro USB port is sunken into the device so far, that only the cable that came with it is long enough. Very easy to scuff and scratch, surface just comes right off. It is a little unresponsive at times, frequently becomes frustrating having to repress keys again and again. I find it very difficult to use the keyboard when in portrait mode, mistype constantly. The device is able to switch into english mode, but still cannot find a way to get the dictionary into english mode, meaning the device thinks that every single word is spelled wrong.

Other: Now that the price has fallen even more, I would probably still buy it, don't expect very long life from it however. It doesn't feel built to last more than a year or so.

Pros: Comes with 2 back covers, 1 has fold over front cover to protect screen. This Phone all apps work and are in English.In Australia Optus & Telstra sim cards work great and you can see the difference in reception of each card. Connect to computer and transfer files easily. Speaker in phone ok but better with Bluetooth earphones. Tethering & Portable hotspot worked easily & well. Camera very clear & great photos. Very easy phone to use. Battery lasts 1 day with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Data Conection on and playing Audio book via Bluetooth for 4hrs.

Cons: Last phone I purchased was SKU: 138975 & had problem with how to use it, No manual & lot of Chinese Apps. This Phone I can not find a problem with it. I Purchased from Au Warehouse which ended up coming from China. Was sent Toll Global Express and arrived in Au in a couple of days but Toll had a truck break down then lose my address. I ended up tracking package and had to call to sort it out

Other: Very happy with phone. Came with Android 4.1.1 Recommend to all to buy

Pros: + Android 4.1.1. + Long battery life - approx. 30 hours (with mobile data, wifi and GPS powered on). + Can handle apps designated for tablets. + After update - rear camera start offering 12M (megapixel) photos. + HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode for taking photos. + Can handle 64GB SD Card (tested: SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSDXC,UHS-I) but card need to be reformated to FAT32.

Cons: - Slow GPS tracking / start up due on chip GPS module. - Cannot use compass apps (probably missing compass sensor).

Other: I can recommend this phone. It is like Galaxy Tab 2 :) Money well spent.

Pros: I'm very happy with the phone, works very well, audio is great, brightness of the screen is perfect, games work fine, no jams. the quality is very good mobile phone, comes with a screen protector. Gps works without problems Resolution Camera gives up to 12Mega pixels.

Cons: the only cons is that i have to wait almost 3mouths to get it, but know i got it and it's great, buy it

Other: This Phone is HUGE, if you have little hands maybe it is a problem to pick it

Pros: It is quite easy to summarize all the positive points about this phone: it is simply outstanding. The design of the phone itself can be something you like or dislike but I feel it really well balanced in terms of width:height:thickness ratio so it does not look bulky. Despite the 500 Mb RAM, phone operations are smooth and it seldom hangs, mainly due to buggy apps (all the google built-ins for example). Wi-Fi antenna is the most powerful I have ever seen: it takes few milliseconds to connect and start exchanging packets.... it humiliates my Lenovo laptop.

Cons: The GPS. As many other reviewers reported, the GPS is slow and somewhat buggy. It reports the position quite well but sometimes it takes 5 minutes to connect. If you plan to use this device for some orienteering or cycling, forget it. It can help you positioning when you look for shops in unknown places but nothing more. Data cable is somewhat proprietary: it is a standard micro USB but a little bit longer than standard ones which simply does not connect. It is a pity. However, I think that cutting 3 mm from a crappy cable can do the job. It came without screen protector (even if stated differently by othe people) and I actually was lucky to find them on another site. Would like to know where they are here on DX! Same for the case.

Other: First time I buy phone from DX (or China if that matters) and I am very happy with that until now. I hope it will not break down so fast but I will definitely buy another, maybe a more modern one.
