SYD-0808 64-LED 480LM Continuous Lighting for Camera and Camcorder (4*AA)

Pros: Very easy to use, good light source, very good quality of light. I buy this product to use in wedding videograpy. My old portable light source weights 3kg and has a duration of 30 minutes!

Cons: Unfortunatelly doesen´t have a moving head to point the light in other directions (except if you use de acessorie but begins to be clumsy.

Other: If you are a professional videomaker, buy it. If you are a homemade videomaker buy it, if you need a light source to work on your car motor inside your garage...buy it!
I love it!

Pros: The light is so bright that you need to be careful when using it nor to damage your sight.
Easy to use and to mount. Built quality pretty good.

Cons: All is made of plastic, including the bracket. The thing is very light and the plastic bracket wont brake because of it, but if you have a heavier cam i recommend that you get a metal bracket.
There is no connection for a outside power source. Only works on batteries.

Other: It is an accessory that everyone, including pros, should carry with their camcorder. You never know when it can be useful on a low light room, or on a deep wood or in conferences, etc.
Best you can get for this price.

Pros: - Lightweight. - Uses AA batteries with a great durability. - Can be inserted to any shoe. - Small and can fit in any bag pocket.

Cons: - Blueish tone of the LEDs. - Doesn't allow color corretion filters. - The extension support is made of plastic and must be carefully stored.

Other: A great item to have in the camera bag. I've been using it for a professional documentary with a flawless execution. The only problem is to use it with amateur cameras that don't allow manual white balance, the camera may auto ajust to a wrong color tone.

Pros: The light is really strong (even stronger than I thought when I was ordering it :-)

The plastic rail mount is good if you don't have a better way to mount the light. It's plastic, so it can break, but it doesn't seem to be easily breakable.
It has a low/high switch which might be usable if you don't need full power.
It works fine with my rechargable Varta AA batteries (I've read that some lights do not like the 1.2V rechargable batteries and work just with regular nonrechargable 1.5V batteries)
It's quite small, which is great.
It allows you to couple several lights together (you can attach the second light to the first one directly with the shoe and you might be able to do it with several lights I think)

Cons: I don't see any cons at the moment.
The rail mount is plastic, but hey - even then it's great for the price.

Other: Definitelly recommended product. If you want some good lighting for great price, go for it.

Pros: Really easy to use. The light's strongest setting is VERY bring, and easily illuminated a dark room. It's very light and pretty compact, so it's easy to take around.

Cons: The light only has two settings, full power, and partial power. Partial power dims it slightly, but there's no way to make it any dimmer then that without taping diffusion over.

Other: I needed a good, simple, portable light for my DSLR's video capabilities, and this gave me exactly that. It provides strong, soft light so I can keep the ISO low and the picture clean. While it doesn't have a slot for gels, I found it was easy to just tape a cutout over when necessary. I also sometiems use this in place of a flash for some photography. If you're going to a dark bar or something with friends, it's easy to just pop this on instead of dealing with carrying an external flash, diffusion, etc. For the price, this was definitely a great deal.

Other: Cheap and helpfull device. Buy it!

Pros: The wonderful item. Bright lights, powered by AA or AA-accumulators. I used it with his video camera - at a distance of three meters obtain a good soft light without harsh glare. Color temperature, I think, is close to natural light.

Cons: No cap diffuser. No corrective light filter plastic bracket

Other: If you enjoy the photo or video shoot - buy it

Pros: I bought the light as extra addition to my DV camcorder
- The lamp produces enough light in dark conditions to film.
- Light temperature is about 9000K so auto white balance works good on any cam.
- The case can hold up to 4 AA instead of 2.
- Overall build quality is good. No sharp edges

Cons: - The on/off button could be triggered when stowed away. This could be replaced by a sunken switch instead of push button.
- The current 2 light levels could be expanded to 4 to have more control in any situation.
- Beside normal white led's infrared would be nice for night shots

Other: Even though its low budget the lamp is worth the money and is a good addition to your equipment.

Pros: Sturdy enough and the price is good.
Illuminates up to 6 feet in total darkness.
It has high/low beam and can attach to any camera with a tripod mount at the bottom.

Cons: a bit heavy when loaded with batteries.

Other: It's cheap enough to purchase and it does the job of providing that much needed light during dark conditions.

Pros: It's a solid good looking device. Compact formfactor, does not require much space to carry or to store. Convenient to attach to camcoder. Could be attached both directly to a hot shoe or through incuded rail mount. Fairly good lighting for the price.

Cons: The rail mount is not enough strong .

Other: I am completely satisfied with this purchase. Definitely recommended for home videos.
