  • Bright single LED, duller side LED's

    posted by yorky2011 on 09:21:24 G5T 28/05/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Its single front LED is very bright, also gives off a good white colour.

Cons: Its side LED's are a lot dimmer, still gives off light but less suitable for number plates than T10's that have better side lighting.

Other: Bright, still a good buy.

  • Could Be Cheaper but still a deal

posted by buttjupp on 00:48:38 G6T 05/06/2010 certificated customer

Pros: Easy to install and decent build quality. Really bright compared to other models. I will order a few more sets soon to fully deck out my Trailblazer.

Cons: Could be cheaper. I was worried that it wouldn't be bright enough but I was wrong. This does not fit in tight spots where the bulb has a metal shroud.

Other: Just buy it if you are looking for a permanent replacement for your conventional filament bulbs.

  • The brightest I have tried

Pros: The forward facing LED is the brightest I have tried so far. the price is very good, and delivery took 10 days to the UK. The heatsink looks plenty big enough.

Cons: The 3 small side LEDs are not very bright, but maybe better than nothing. I said the 3 small side LEDs are not very bright, but maybe better than nothing.

Other: I think these are the best W5W upgrades that fit the standard sized hole.

Pros: It is a good bright white LED. Looks good, and it is brighter than ordinary bulb.

Cons: The led's inside are overloaded, and are working at currents beyond safe, and because of heat they have a short life time. LED are supposed to last for 10+ years, but in this case, the ordinary bulb will last longer.
Hi brightness (DC current) + small heatsink = short life

Other: If you want to use this, you should get more than one pair in the start, because you newer now when the led will stop working.

  • T10 1W+3W 12V White Light LED Car

posted by Zvonko on 04:54:51 G1T 16/01/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Wow, that's really bright... like the sun, only "colder" light. I guess that it is around 6000K. I'm using those in the cabin (one above the driver, the other one above co-driver), although I know that most of the people will buy those and install as parking lights. That's OK too.

Cons: None so far. If they burn out, that can be the only con.

Other: If you want VERY BRIGHT light, small power consumption, don't hesitate to buy a pair (or more) of these!

  • Very disappointed this LED

Pros: Quite bright in the main 3W LED I can only stress the metal casing of the LED, and nothing more ...

Cons: Hoping for feedback from previous owners, but alas, no good ... Expect a much greater brightness and quality

Other: There are many others who are much better and more light on brightness Very disappointed this LED, now I think someone can sell it

Pros: very compact it should fit any place in the car, it is just a bit longer than original W5W lamp, i just bought it after SKU 37144 was too long for my car Room Light.

Cons: _ The item quality seems to cheap at first sight.
_ It seems to get hot very fast

Other: I dont regret this purchase this led brighter as SKU 37144 but takes less room so it can fit ererywhere

  • Great for sidelights

    posted by drac666666 on 17:15:07 G5T 07/05/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: These are obviously better than the version that only projects light forward. They work great for front sidelights (aka parking lights or city lights) at the side of your high beam projector housing. They emit a cool white light that aids in daytime visibility when you don't yet have (road legal) daylight running lights, and their narrow beam is much better visible at night when your car is parked at the side of a dark road. Visibility is enhanced compared to the standard incandescent W5W bulb, but at 3+1=4W, there are nearly no energy savings compared to the original 5W incandescent bulb.

Cons: Definitely not useable as turning signal bulbs. DX and other shops sometimes don't understand that white LEDs emit light in a much narrower band of wavelenghts, and that therefore placing them behind a yellow, orange or red plastic filter will inevitably also filter out much of the light intensity. Use amber/yellow/orange LEDs for turning signal bulbs, red LEDs for stop signals, and white LEDs when colourless lighting or signalling is required. The cheaper, more energy-efficient SKU 58437 is much brighter, but only radiates light to one side. Some of these die after one month of use: we'll see how lucky I am this time.

Other: Great for sidelights, but there is better. Not to be used as advertised: DX should change the title/description.

  • Good Pair of lamps

posted by outrojuliano on 08:16:08 G7T 06/07/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I'm using mine to illuminate the license plates.
The LED lamps are on the side, which helps spread the light.
I liked the LED assembly of the socket, protecting all the circuits and resistors
Illuminate very well, much better than those that use only a single LED.
They emit a very white color, ideal for combining with the xenon lamp, although this is not my case because I do not use the headlights.
In light of the plates was pretty cool.

Cons: No indication of which terminal is positive and what is negative. So if the first does not work, has to fit the lamp reversed. But this is explained in the instructions that come with the lamp.
The terminals are very thin and fragile (only a small wire) and this can lead to malfunction if not careful when installing. Have to leave the wire well aligned with the socket of the car to work right.

Other: I'm with my a month ago and so far all leds work. I liked the price, and also the result. A great deal, no doubt.
