Pros: You get a fully working temperature measurement system with data acquisition software. It can measure up to once in second, fast enough for most applications ever. Put in in your PC to track the heating up of the case, track the temperature in your room. See how low the temp gets during the night outside (avoid getting the unit wet!), the applications are endless...
Cons: No protective cap.
Other: Nice price, good value for the money. I ordered more than one and I am fully satisfied.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: low cost, small, compact, seems to be reasonably accurate but I have no way to calibrate
Cons: originally looking for a sensor that would record while unplugged from the PC. This won't do that (you need a datalogger see SKU: 71121 instead). Item Title should have made that clear and used the word "Sensor" and not "Recorder" software is a little clumsy to use. Documentation is very light
Other: Excellent price for simple temperature sensor with software.

Pros: Solid housing, OK price, works under Linux lsusb ID is: "Bus 002 Device 025: ID 0c45:7401 Microdia". I use it with the file pcsensor.c under Ubuntu Linux, and that works.
Cons: The housing feels like metal. If it really is metal, that means temperature changes are delayed by the "warmth mass" of the metal. So far, it doesn't work the python and perl modules I've found. It might be these modules are written for different hardware. I'm quite sure the temperatures reported are a bit too high: about 2 -3 degrees Celsius. This is based on comparison with a normal thermometer, and on putting the TEMPer in a bowl with melting ice. I'm quite sure it is the TEMPer (and not the software) reporting too high temperatures. So this means some calibration / subtraction. Attention: I haven't tried the included Windows software, so maybe that software reports the correct temperature.
Other: I think there are cheaper USB temperature sensors available on the Internet, but I like DX's reliability in service and delivery ... so, yes, I would buy this again.

Pros: It works, the build quality is really good and it does the work. I have been able to get it work under linux too (google "edorfaus tempered", that is the driver which works for this device)
Cons: None that I have observed
Other: If you need a thermometer, this one is good. If you need to measure the temperature at a distance from your USB port, buy SKU 33717 which is a USB extension cable.

Pros: It's a plug&play thing. Small, relatively cheap, very simple to use. Well built. The temperature reported is very precise, down to hundredths of degrees Celsius (like 24.48C).
Cons: The reported temperature has an offset by 3-4 degrees so you need to calibrate it first with another thermometer. Interestingly, it shows higher temperature than real when used in MS Windows while in Linux (using pcsensor.c software) it reports lower temperature than the real one.
Other: Even though I am able to buy a DS18B20 and solder a simple interface this TEMPer is ready to go immediately after unpacking. The only issue is to find out the temp offset. Try out my -a 730, perhaps it's universal?

Pros: Great material quality. Cheap Spends very low energy
Cons: The included software has some bugs. You'll need an extension usb cable not included.
Other: It's a good choice
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Small, made of steel (or some kind of), can be attached to something. I use it for logging the temperature at home. I use it with pcsensor, which you can find here - http://www.delete.com.br/monitorar-temperatura-usando-nagios-microdia-usb-termometer/ (translate it with google if you do not know the language
Cons: The sensor is easy to install on windows but I do not see any reason to have it there - no console, no web server...
Other: This is a great purchase. If you doubt it is - do not hesitate. It's cheap and works.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Acurate Sensor for a very low price. Solid metal stick. Buildquality looks very good. Good driversupport for both x86 and x64 windows versions.
Cons: Software has bugs and is poorly documented. It's not possible to read multiple sensors although the program seems to feature this. I didn't get it to work on multiple OSes
Other: Great sensor and pricing, Software needs to be improved a bit and it would be perfect.
