Pros: It IS compatible with OpenWRT. Plus theres a specialised build for it available at minipwner.com. All in all this a perfect router for first time router hackers, great for wardriving. All you need really is a battery pack that outputs 1000mA and you're all good!
Cons: None so far. BUT the instructions were riddled woth typos and what nots, some errors here and there, but if you have basic network knowledge, it shouldnt be a problem
Other: Great router at a great price.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: easy to install openwrt to install openwrt use this tutorial: http://wiki.xinchejian.com/wiki/Install_OpenWRT_on_TPlink_WR703N dd-wrt is also supported... And probably other distros too. I have not tried to use it with a 3g adapter, or any other usb devices, but it should support all that openwrt (and dd-wrt) supports :-)
Cons: Only Chinese interface. only flat plug on power supply.
Other: It is very cheap, small and have low power consumption.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Compact, good quality, good construction. Compatible with DD-WRT and Open-WRT, good for hacking.
Cons: Firmware comes in chinese only! There is no original (TP-LINK) firmware in english for this exact model (there is one for the international TL-MR3020, which is mostly hardware-compatible; you have to flash a modded version, though, so it can be accepted by the web interface). At one point I semi-bricked the device, had to solder to internal pads to do a restore via serial console. If you don't speak Chinese, be prepared to do some hacking.
Other: Nice, versatile unit, great for hacking.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This thing is highly "upgradable," both with better firmware, via OpenWRT, and through hardware upgrades for the adventurous (RAM and flash can both be upgraded if you are good at soldering). With serial port access, too, this can be a great project platform with wifi capability.
Cons: None. Well, maybe only that it comes with a Chinese-language firmware, but there are plenty of guides for going through an upgrade process.
Other: An awesome little device in its own right, but truly excellent with OpenWRT. Also, the wireless throughput speeds are very good.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Excellent little box if you want what is basically a computer with Ethernet and USB ports when loaded with OpenWRT firmware. Which is why I bought it.
Cons: None really, if you're buying it with the aim to replace the firmware. But if you want to use it as is (without changing the firmware), the admin interface is in Chinese, so that may be a bit of a problem if you're not Chinese.
Other: Extremely cheap wireless interface for the hobbyist. For instance, it will stream a webcam at 352x288. Interfaces with Arduino Nano through a USB 2.0 hub.

Pros: *Simple and easy to config. You can use the english manual to config your device. *You can use the usb to give energy, so you don't need the usb adaptor *Small, you can put it anywhere, without cluttering the space *Great quality for small price *Much cheaper than buying a Wi-Fi adapter to your TV
Cons: *The configuration page are in Chinese!
Other: *Is a great device to provide internet for a Internet TV, or other devices. *Excellent device for Wi-FI connection in your vehicle

Pros: Can run OpenWRT (embedded linux), instructions are available on google. For the price, you get an embedded linux box that can connect to webcams, flashdrives, arduinos, etc. There's also an internal serial port available if you're handy with a soldering iron.
Cons: The available flash is pretty small (4MB), there's not much you can do without using an external flash drive. Python is too big to install, but you can install Lua or compile C programs to it.
Other: Buy it if you're interested in wireless robotics, sensor networks, or home automation. Its extremely versatile!

Pros: Perfect travel companion. Planning to use it in my cabin as we only have wired network on the ship where I am working. Easy to install OpenWRT, and to use for other linux applications.
Cons: Limited storage, both EEPROM an RAM is very limited if you plan to run a lot of applications. (Exroot is a solution if you need more storage, but you will have to use a USB hub if you plan to use USB for other stuff too...)
Other: Nice little box that can be used "as-is", or for a lot of stuff if you are into linux projects.

Pros: As a standard wifi router this item performs good. Signal power and throughput are good enough for a room, small apartment or office. I would also use it on a trip in a hotel room if they provide Ethernet in room as in most hotels WiFi reception in rooms is in general bad. But, when you upgrade it with e.g. OpenWrt, it becomes a small hacker computer running a real Linux and being supported by a great online community.
Cons: Except the fact that the Web UI is in Chinese only, nothing really. As I immediately upgraded it to OpenWrt this was not bothering me much.
Other: I bought this item primarily for hacking it with OpenWrt and it is absolutely possible (and relatively easy) to do it.

Pros: Support for open-wrt and dd-vrt firmware that allows you to do with this router a lot of interesting things. For example to make the regular printer - network printer. Or connect to the router 3g modem and surf the Internet with multiple devices at once (Wifi or LAN). You can connect a flash drive or hard drive and download torrents.
Cons: The main disadvantage of this device - there is no English on the menu to the factory firmware. Also there is no adapter for euro bilge for the PSU. No lan cable included.
Other: We get a little money full mini computer than a router + heap settings for all occasions! I am very pleased with the purchase.
