Pros: Excellent compass, great build quality. I was suprised to see how well it was built. Better build quality than some of the compass at my local camping store.
Cons: My eye peice didn't align immediately to the line. But this was a minor issue, just needed to nudge is slightly when using.
Other: For the price, this is an excellent cheek compass for hikers.

Pros: good compass for the price!
Cons: not water filled, so not as easy to use, but not a big deal at all...
Other: I like it alot...

Pros: Good price, appears to be well made with everything working as it should. The light weight needle oscilates very little so not being liquid filled is not much of a problem.
Cons: Not liquid filled, would have been good information to include in the product description.
Other: A descent compass. Useable in backwoods navigation/orienteering.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very affordable & apparently quite sturdy enough. The needle is very steady & moves to magnetic north smoothly & reliably.
Cons: Not liquid filled, for those who desire such, though this is not really a problem for us.
Other: Another product here @ DX that just cannot be beat for price & functioning. Whether taking an orienteering class, scouting, etc., this foldable compass would likely work well for you.

Pros: Well, it works like intended
Cons: Mine came a bit crooked, sights didn't line up, had to use heat gun to adjust
Other: It works as a toy, but if you really need to use one for whatever you do, get a name brand.

Pros: Compass seems to work well
Cons: none for me
Other: Works well for me.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This compass is the perfect one for you. It will accompany you everywhere, in all your outings.
Its transparency allows you to see your map through the compass.
Cons: None for me.
Other: This object has a good price, and I recommend it to every walkers (for youngs as for adults).
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very good compass for the price, you won't find any other compass at the same price. In France this is typically a 30$ range compass. What is more it fells very sturdy.
Cons: None except a small piece of plastic to lock it closed would make it perfect ! But for the price we can not really complain at all. You'll juste have to take care not to scratch too much the paint on the outside of the compass to make it last for years
Other: Buy it, that's really a good value. You won't ever be disappointed.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Lightweight and translucent. Can be used as both navigating compass and marching compass. Don't need to open the cover to see where is "N".
Cons: The flip open cover could use some kind of locking mechanism. If hang the compass on neck and after some running/scrambling in the jungle, it will flip open. The edges could use some blunting too, a bit sharp and potentially could cut/injure.
Other: If you are used to lensatic compass and love to "view" through the finder as part of your navigational task, get this.

Pros: i bought this for my friend who in turn gave it to his kids. they are now using it during hiking and camping and very happy with the usage. i'm not an expert in compass reading so I don't really know how it compares with the other brands. all I know is it's a great gadget to teach kids survival skills in finding directions.
Cons: there were some sharp edges that can cut the hand if you're not careful
Other: buy it if you;re into the manual direction finding, otherwise, you can just buy a GPS
