  • Sturdy Tourch

    posted by freddy99 on 20:27:11 G1T 17/01/2009 certificated customer

Pros: Very bright light, the LED also gives off a very white light. This will knock any Maglite out of the water. The components seem very well made and screw smoothly together. There are 'O' rings on all the screw joints so the tourch should be waterproof.

Cons: When you turn the light off and on again it starts up in the next mode in the sequence. Luckily there are only three modes and a gentle tap on the tail cap allows you to flick to the mode you want very quickly.

Other: This is the first P7 flashlight I have purchased, I am very pleased with it. I am also going to use it as a bike light by buying suitable mounting.

  • Very good Lamp. Best build Quality

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: Very good build quality.
I bought three of these Lamps and all work properly out of the box.
The Lamp feels very worth in the hand. Light is not so blue compared to some other ssc-p7 lamps. Power consumption is far under 3 Ampere. It is about 1.7 A with fresh 1x18650. Thats good. Because at 2.8A the battery gets empty very fast and you dont get noticable more lumen out of the led. At 1.7A the temperature of the lamp is hot after a while, but not too hot. I will buy more of these lamps.

Cons: Only three modes. I am missing a Mid Mode.
I dont find an exact binning at the LED.

Other: If you are searching for a cheap and good SSC-P7 lamp take this one.

  • It is an Excellant Bike Headlight

    posted by kwong999 on 02:25:15 G5T 29/05/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I was looking for a headlight for my mountain bike. I looked at all of Deal Extreme's single 18650, SSC P7 flashlights and settled on this one for 3 reasons.
    1) I like the larger hotspot of this flashlight. The larger central hot spot combined with the rest of the flood lighting gives you a wide and deep illumination pattern on the road. Thanks to Deal Extreme for posting beam patterns with the flashlights. Being able to see those beam patterns made it 10 times easier to pick the right flashlight for my application.
    2) It's small enough to be used as a bike headlight. It's about 1 inch in diameter and perfectly fits a universal mount I have. Other 1 inch diameter flashlights I tried are powered by three AAA batteries and CR123 batteries. Neither is as efficient (power to size) as a single 18650.
    3) Price. You cannot beat the performance of this flashlight in this price range. A couple well known bike accessory companies sell high power LED headlamps for $200.00. This flashlight, a universal mount, 2 18650 batteries and a charger cost about 1/3 of that well known bike light.

Cons: Maybe I could do without the strobe lighting. I'd rather have 3 constant on modes, low - medium - high.

Other: Excellent build quality, bright light, very useful illumination pattern, compact in size, all at an awesome price !!
    Deal Extreme rocks !!

Pros: pros of this flashlight after buying three....outside was nice and crisp, wat gives it a good handling. not to tall. fits in my coat pocket.the clicky worked easy. when you need it touch it and the beam starts.and bright it is!!! it has a good throw. the flood is also good,so you can use it round and in the house and outdoors.much brighter as some 900 lumen lights i tried.so far the best!!!

Cons: none none none none none.

Other: in my opinion this is an allround light usable indoors outdoors or in your car,you cant go wrong whith this light.

  • Absolutely amazing lighht

Pros: Very good quality build, nice and tight on the o rings. Seriously powerful beam. Have been using it on my mountain bike on country lanes and off road. The beam pattern gives a very bright white central spot, with a large surround for optimal vision. I have been using this in both dusk and night and have found it gives me the confidense to ride at full chat off road with no other lighting.

    Cons: None so far

Other: An excellent light for the money, beating some £200 plus bike lights. Will definately be buying another one to have a dual headlight on the bike.

Pros: Well, i own many flaslights... Fenix L2D, Maglite 3D LED and some nice from DX :) Im search for an bright and small flaslight, this one looks very nice for me. Much brightness and an small body. After one week the torch arrived well packed. I insert an 18650 batterie and press the clickie. Wow, the brightness was amazing. It´s much brighter than my big Maglite. The spot are very big and bright, excellent if you will use it for an bike. The second brightness mode are nearly 130 lumens, it´s bright enough. The torch is very well build, aluminium orange peel reflector, solid alu body, nice self defence bezel... Only the clickie feels a little bit cheap.

    Cons: Cheap feeling clickie

Other: Never saw such an great torch for a low price. Here in germany you must pay nearly 100 Euros for this one! It´s an perfect edc torch.

  • Very Bright Cycle Light!

    posted by bnick81 on 03:47:23 G1T 07/01/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very very bright and versatile light. I've ordered mine solely as a cycle light and am now considering another. High mode is unbelieveably bright, whilst low is more comparable to a 45-lumen bike light (Blackburn Voyager 4.0). SOS mode is great for daytime awareness, especially in rain etc... It's just a fast blink light you would expect on a bike light none of this 40hz epileptic episode triggering rubbish.

Cons: If I was being picky a medium mode would be good, only if it meant all the other modes would remain unaffected of course!

Other: If you're looking for a practical P7 that is pretty small as torches go with a Very high quality light pattern. Semi Wide flood with a nice sweet spot (perfect for night time cycling in/out of town); Then seriously consider this. What I stated regarding Current, if yours is has similiar readings to mine you WILL NOT be dissapointed!

Pros: This light has great throw with some spill.3 modes is great for me.5 modes is not practical.I love the 18650 batt. it has great life. The light is built tough. It has already taken a 5ft drop on pavement like a champ.

Cons: No cons that I can find!

Other: I had people say that this is the brightest flashlight they have ever seen. THIS LIGHT IS A GREAT DEAL I LOVE IT!!

Pros: Superb build quality, all threads and o rings correct and present. The beam/throw on this torch is superb!! I have three P7's now and this has to be on par with my Spiderfire for overall brightness and throw. The reflector is not plastic all parts unscrew nicely together and you even have simple access to the LED...Fab!! The strobe/S.O.S mode on the torch should come with a warning for people who suffer epilepsy.....This is the mother of torches that comes at an unbeatable price to match. I found out that the 18650 batteries are the standard batteries for laptops...I know have eight extra batteries, great for the planet as I "recycled" the old laptop battery :-)

Cons: You must be joking...other than a health warning for epilepsy sufferers!!!

Other: Well I think Dealextreme have come up with a winner here, top notch bargain torch that blows the pants off/Lensers..Maglites..Prineton tech headlights all my other toys/torches pale in comparison..Thats what I call an Extremely good piece of kit!
