UCOM 8-KM/5-Mile Walkie Talkie (2-Pack)

Pros: - Long range.
- Works with aa nimh rechargable batteries.
- Illuminated display.
- Has both jack for charging and external mic/speaker.
- Rubber buttons.

Cons: - PTT Button is a bit flimsy.
- Has no real "low" volume.
- Fixed antenna, it doesn't unscrew.

Other: Good walkie talkie. The PTT button could have a better feel, but thats not really a big issue.

Pros: Cheap
Has a very good range
Batteries don't drain when they are left in there. (still have the same batteries I put in a month ago and they are still full)
Good volume.

Cons: Sound quality is good but not so great.
As the other person has mentioned, you can't mute it even if the volume is at its lowest.

Other: Overall, great value for money. You won't find many better at this price range.

Pros: Great cheap walkie talkies with decent range, easy to use menu system and controls. Great that they use 3 AA batteries as they are so cheap, many others i looked at use AAA.

Cons: No Cons, i've been very happy with my pair.

Other: If you are after cheap walkie talkies to stay in contact but don't need a great range these are a great buy.

Pros: It is cheap,
It doesn't get any noise, unlike other cheap walkie talkies.
It is great quality, it fell a couple of times, and it is still working.

Cons: I got the 5km version ones, but this version isn't really 5km, I tested it, and it is like 1,5km.
The alarm thingy is too loud.

Other: just buy it as a toy, it is nice as a toy.

Pros: - Is cheap - Is handy - All sounds (exept "call") can be disabled - Powered by 3 AA batteries - Call function (although I do not know whether this is useful..) - In the box(blister): 2x walkie-talkies plus owner's manual (english and chinese(or similar)) nothing more.

Cons: I received a black model (COM1 T-628) which have 22 channels, it means that is illegal in EU (so.. I'll be a pirate..) Altrough on the box is written that operates on a frequency of 446Mhz and have 8 channels!

Other: Why are DX not sent the PMR model to me, knowing that I am from an european country.. (?)

Pros: Bought these to use during a trip to a festival with 2 cars. Great fun to talk along the way. Range good enough for talking between two cars driving on the highway.

Cons: I received the 22channel version (FRS) which is used in USA and not the 8 channel version used in europe. This makes them incompatible with other receivers, bought in europe.

Other: Cheap, nice toys, great fun.

Pros: the price of the product goes beyond expectations , small radio with over 20 channels and from what I've tested it has a good sound , good product

great for those who want a radio to comunicacion deforms non-professional , I recommend this product to all

Pros: Only one thing: Excelente product.
Very cheap for the quality.
This radio works great in several conditions.

Cons: Not scan!
I dont localize the function to sacn all channels. maybe don't have one, but in my case, don't matter.

Other: Excellent cost-benefit!

Pros: I've tested so far these walkie talkies and I'm totally satisfied.
-Built quality is excelent, they are made of a very strong plastic, wont break easily.
-Both come with detachable belt clip.
-LONG Runtime! 120hs in standby.
-LONG Range! Haven't tested them in the open field yet, but in the city I've tested in a 800m distance and sound was as clear as 100m away.
-22Channels
-Scan function
-Headphones and Microphone imput
-Battery charger imput
-Nice Package

Cons: -The only weak point of these Walkies is the belt clip. It may break, havent happened to me yet.

Other: A great buy, a pair like this cost around 100usd here. I'm totally happy with this buy.

Pros: Very interesting device:
- small and light
- has a big space for batteries: 3xAA or 3xAA NiMH, and possible Li-Ion accu.
- need only 3 batteries, 4.5volts total, so you can use Li-ion.
- has internal charger! You can use plug from nokia, for example simple Nokia-USB charger.
- good power: clear connect from ground floor to 8-floor, about 1km in city, even from car.
- has some useful things: channel scan, selectable call rings etc.
- easy operations, even for children or grandmother.

Cons: - On package written "range 3-5??"
- In manual written "8 channels" (actually is 22 channels :))
- You need to detach a belt clip for replacing batteries. Not so good for clip's life.
- Not clear noise cutting in city environment.
- No chargers included, and no specified. Manually i found that thick (old) nokia socket is accepted.
- No socket for external antenna ;)

Other: So, this is not a "professional motorola", but good enough for many activities, in buildings, in city, in car, or on the nature. You can install NiMH or even Li-ion accumulators, and charge them any time from USB, solar panel, auto-adapter etc. And good low price. I think to by a second pair :)
