* a spacer is required to charge CR123A/CR2
* Note: the horizontal contacts (the ones on the sides) are disabled by Ultrafire for unspecified reasons. kikkoman reported that these disabled contacts can be re-activated by modding the charger (connecting a few soldering points): http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/4606/dsc00081pi1.jpg. Upon re-activation these horizontal contacts can be used to charge CR123A batteries. You may still need to bend the contacts outward by a bit.

Pros: Great concept on paper. Versatile charger.
Cons: Finish charge voltage of 4.25 volts or more should not be considered acceptable.
Other: If the manufacturer corrects the overcharge problem with this charger, this would be a GREAT charger. Based on others experience with overcharge I would not recommend this charger unless there was a guarantee that this problem has been corrected.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Easy to use, I like the individual bays for charging. I have purchased 5 chargers and only one went just above 4.25. I had tested the other chargers and they charged the cells to 4.20. The one I had a problem with was an early production model. I obtained a replacement from DX and it works great, finishes at 4.20 volts using protected cells. I don't leave the cells in the charger once it goes green. For the money it works well. I used a small bolt as a spacer for R123 cells.
Cons: none
Other: I'll buy them again, it a great charger for the money and makes using my flashlights very economical with the rechargeable batteries I have from DX
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Good all round charger. Accept 12 volt input for car uses
Cons: Cannot charge 10440, RCR123 and CR2 without spacer Bad soldering job.
Other: Good bargain, but design must be improved.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Good charger - Cuts off charging at 4.20V - Fast - Batteries don't get hot - Good build quality - Have a DC 12V input
Cons: - Horizental CR123 charging is disabled - No sapcers for CR123 batteries - Doesn't come with a car adapter
Other: A very good charger for this price tag.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Mine cuts off right at 4.2v with protected or non-protected cells. Can charge two different batteries at once such as 1 18650 and 1 17670.
Cons: Side terminals don't work but I will probably be fixing that soon enough. DX gives a picture on how to do it. Requires spacer to charge RCR123's in the vertical slots.
Other: I really like this charger. If the side terminals worked from the factory it would be great!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very simple charger, charges batteries consistnly, and can run off 12v.
Cons: Not all the contacts are hooked up.
Other: Basic simple charger
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Great charger! Mine does not overcharge (final cell voltage is 4.20V exactly). LEDs turn green to indicate the batteries are ready for use. Can be used for CR123 also, using any metal spacer.
Cons: Side terminals dont work, but this is very easy to mod.
Other: Great charger, probably the best available here on DX!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Great Price, Solid Build, Supports CR123 After Mod, and Charges real quick
Cons: If the soldering for the CR123 was done would be great saves us time doing modding at home.
Other: If you got a flash light or anything that uses the 2 main supporting type of batteries then buy it. cheap and solid build.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: this is a great charger works well with my lithium battries and stops at exaclty 4.2v
Cons: the side terminals dont work but thats not the reason i bought the thing
Other: works great i love the charger
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Good build quality Recharges CR123s LED indicators Can be modded!
Cons: Need to use spacer for recharging Cr123s Has to be modded to enable side contacts (hang on,that's a pro!) Doesn't mention CR123s anywhere on the product info (but it does here) You'll have to pinch the lead from another appliance if you live in Australia (supplied plug won't work)
Other: Sturdy, powerful and useful: this really is a valiant little charger!
