Pros: I bought this torch as a battery vampire to use up CR123 batteries that were part-used in 2x CR123 torches as they approached the end of their useful life, discharging individually for safety.
Solidly made, the clip is detachable by unscrewing switch base.
The torch will stand on tail end quite well, though not perfectly stable.
OP reflector smooths out the Cree beam very well.
Cons: The user interface takes some getting used to, first press gives a quick flash, then nothing, a quick depress gives max, then mid, then low, then fast strobe, then SOS mode.
It does retain some memory for a few minutes, then goes through the whole start-up procedure again.
Other: It is OK, but is no brighter than other Cree 1x AA torches I have bought from Dealextreme, nowhere near 230 lumens, but is still quite bright.
Using CR123's, the extended RT's are a welcome bonus.
Recommended for indoor use, or really dark night-time exterior.
The low setting is quite useful for when you just wake up, going to mid setting after a while.
I would have preferred the output to be low, mid, high, not the other way around.

Pros: - Good build quality
- Its Tiny
- You can keep it on your belt all day without it getting in the way if you sit down
- Its Ideal if you want to strap it to your cycle helmet for an extra light
- Has a Glow in the dark clicky
Cons: - The SOS mode is incorrect, its goes '. . . - - - - - -' spelling out SOO (instead of '. . . - - - . . .' which spells SOS)
- I was expecting slightly more light but for the size of it its pretty good
- It doesn't have memory mode
- apart from the highest setting of light, the lower settings are pretty useless as they are very dim.
Other: For its size, its pretty good, on the highest setting of light it has a good throw. Its well built but don't rely on it if you need help as it does not say SOS but 'SOO'
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -Small size
-5 mode clicky
-Glow in the dark clicky
-Super bright
-Can use protected cells
-Weight and balance
-Finish is great
-Less than $16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: -Lacks on O ring on the clicky switch end but one can be added pretty eaily
-Nothing else
Other: The bottom line this is a great light for the price. I can see me using this light for many things.

Pros: Munkeh said it best with his comments below mine. This is a good little light. Does what I need it to do. Seems like I could keep it in my pocket all day and not know it's there. I plan on doing just that. It's very light weight. Does tail stand.
The price is right for this light!
Cons: Not as bright as I thought it would be at 230 lumes...
It's no where near as bright as my Fenix P2D but it will flood the immediate area well.
Other: Well priced, functions well, finish is good, light weight, packable, useful but just not as bright as I thought it would be!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Insanely bright with a rechargeable (protected) 16340.
Very compact and lightweight.
Makes an awesome keychain light with a little modification.
Cons: Driver does not have the good kind of mode memory that returns to the last mode used. Instead, after powering off, this torch always goes to the next mode in the sequence with the next power-on.
No pre-drilled hole in tail cap for lanyard or keyring.
SOS mode spells out SOO.
Driver does not appear to boost or buck voltage. I'm guessing it wont cut-off either, so advise not using unprotected cells.
no rubber gasket at glass and threads are not the smoothest but not the worst either.
Other: With a little modification, this becomes a perfect and surprisingly powerful keychain torch. Left as-is, it's still a cool little pocket-clip torch.

Pros: great little light! The colour of the finishing was much better than what it looks like on the site. The finish itself is smooth without any defects whatsoever. The colour of the head and body match perfectly as well.
Output: On a 3.6v RCR123, it is BRIGHT!! Very smooth beam, very cool white tint. Good spill and very bright hotspot.
Output is in 5 modes, Hi-Med-Lo-Fast Strobe-SOS.
Clicky is a reverse clicky and changing modes is a breeze.
Cons: The clip could be better designed like the Romisen RC-C3 clip which is easier to clip to pockets.
Threads were dry but not an issue, just lubed them up and good to go.
Clicky does not reset or have a memory mode, if you turn off the light, it will turn on in the next mode. i.e. if you turn off in high, it will turn on in medium the next time.
Other: If you want a budget 1xRCR123 multi mode light, this is it!

Pros: Good build quality, except for the switch. Bright. Very nice finish.
Cons: This is not a Q5 flashlight! This flashlight uses the exact same diode as the SKU6117 (shape, size, leads, brightness). It is most definitely 230-lumen.
The on/off switch is picky.
the SOS mode is actually an SOO mode. :)
The mode function is hard to figure out, sometimes it has "memory" other times it would allways start from the brightest mode.
Other: I've bought many flashlights from DX, and I can say this is not one of my favorites.
I will look into a real Q5 or R2 to buy - this one I used as a gift.

Pros: This is an EXTREMELY BRIGHT light. I couldn't believe it when I first switched it on. The light is very bright, but it is not designed for throw. The reflector is not very deep and the beam is a bit floody( which makes it even more useful for daily use )
The threads were lubed and very smooth. The best I ever had in a chinese light.
The tailcap glows in the dark, hence making it easier to locate the light.
Cons: The front lens is slightly loose, and cannot be fixed without sanding away some of the rough edges. As a result, the light is not waterproof from the front
Other: This is by far the best flashlight under$16 at DX. Don't hesitate to get it
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very small, very bright if used with rechargeable (3.6-3.7V) battery
Easy to change modes using partial press of end cap.
Good price, not great.
Cons: Flashing modes seem useless.
Brightness is heavily dependent on the battery used. 3.6-3.7V rechargeables are MUCH brighter than CR123A disposables. But even with disposables, there's a huge range of brightness as voltage varies. As an example. a CR123A which measures 2.9-3.0V w/o load may be very disappointing in terms of brightness. However one which measures 3.1-3.2V may seem pretty good, but still nothing like a rechargeable 3.6-3.7V Li-Ion.
No mode memory.
Other: Very good, not perfect.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -VERY bright on rechargeable RCR123 (brighter than fenix p2d on turbo mode)
-light weight
-small enough to carry in your pocket
-cheap enough so that it isn't a desaster to lose it.
-finish is ok, not great
Cons: -mode memory: I don't want a light to start in the next mode. i want it to start at the same mode every time (preferable low mode)
-impractical mode sequence: HI>MID>LO>STROBE>SOS
I ruins my noghtvision when I start it on High mode.
-SOS is wrong :p
Other: For the price, you really can't go wrong with this one. I would prefer only 3 modes (LOW - MID - HIGH) but thats personal taste.
Overall a very good light for a nice price.
