Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Nice bright clean light
- Very bright with 14500
- Nice look and feel too
- Well Built
- Good blend of green & grey colors
- Grow-in-the-dark tailcap
- Take AA and 14500 batteries
Cons: - Geting warm real fast using 14500
- Only one mode
- Price
- The beam is not a round shape
Other: Wow-Wow What a great little light !
Fun little flashlight. Cool for EDC. I would recommend this flashlight to my friends. Gotta have it.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Single mode, AA size is what I wanted. Very bright. Knurling gives a good grip/feel. HAIII coating looks good now. Time will tell. Protected and unprotected 14500s fit.
Cons: Reverse clicky. Slightly longer than some single AA lights. Maybe 1/4".
Other: 1st time I've done a review here. I'm happy with this little light so far and would not hesitate to buy another one.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Extremely good build quailty. Great knurling and Ha III coating. Brighter than my Jetbeam CLE. What you would expect for a Q5 in this form factor. GID Clikie is just right. Tail Stands. Light OP deep reflector. Good hotspot to fill. Very clean thread and lubed.
Cons: Does not work with 14500. Would be perfect if it did. I think the head could serve well as the heatsink.
Other: Very nice, great price, wish it worked on 14500.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Just got this light today, have been messing with the brightness in day and night use
easily outshines my 4D mag.. amazing in itseld
of course you are using 4500 batteries
which are a bit hot.. run time so far has not been tested because of that.
i love the way it holds, it's very nice and is defininatly the most powerful in it's class, easily outshining all single 4500 lights
on the market today, i have nearly all the ones on DX so far, this is nice!
even has one of those 'tooth' crown besels.. case you need to fight someone (or just blind them with light)
Cons: its' currently the most expensive??
aa light ,but maybe they can lower the price a bit?
other lights (4500)are smaller than this
but not my much
Other: weird feature when batteries are low it blinks for a bit
easy on the eyes.

Pros: This is the brightest small 1xAA flashlight i've seen yet! It's slightly brighter than the silver SAIK/Romisen RC-A3 and the Ultrafire C3... It seems very strong and well built, altough the screw threading is not as good as the formerly mentioned lamps.
Cons: Costs a little more than a lot of lights that come close output-wise.
A little bit bigger than a lot of lamps, altough this is only milimeters! Comes without carrying pouch.
Other: This will be my main lamp when going outside at night!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This is a great little light, it's really bright and would be a perfect EDC for anyone that wants a compact, yet bright light. I don't think it's anywhere close to 22 lumens though.
Cons: I don't think it's anywhere close to 22 lumens though.
Other: A little heavy on the price, but a good quality unit that should give you years of EDC service. I'm thinking of getting some more for my friends and family.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -The build quality feels great. Granted, I'm not a flashlight expert, but I haven't had common flashlight problems such as flickering or rattling.
-The crown and tail stand works fine.
-Glow in the dark switch is a plus
-strap is large enough to fit over your wrist
- I really like the fact that this only has 1 mode, and although running it on max won't have the best run times, I don't mind it as much because of how easy to get to turn on.
-Uses AA batteries, main reason i bought it
- The diameter of the flashlight is pretty even throughout its length.
Cons: - It's unlikely that I'll ever use a 14500 battery to test out its full potential.
- I really don't have much complaints about this light
-Hot spot is not very big compared to the overall area that lights up.
Other: This is a great light if you're looking a simple, durable, light that's nicely built.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This light is very bright and has very good
build quality.
The glow in the dark switch is a good choice.
The fact, it can take different batteries is very nice and work fine.
Cons: Lifetime with installed driverpill is not so long.
With 14500(prot.) it will last 30mins.
With AA 2700mAh accu it lasts about 1 hour (useful light).
No other cons.
Other: Very good light at all.
I ordered 3 of them for me and family and will order more for my friends.
All of them would be modified before my friens get one.
It will be fine, if dealextreme customize this light like i done it.
Greetz!!!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Excellent light with a dazzlingly bright beam, do not look into the beam unless you want to spend the next five minutes with debilitating afterimages. Useful beam of light out to 70-100ft. This with a standard AA battery.
The entire assembly can be easily disassembled. A big plus for those of us who like to tinker.
Stands on head and tail. Nice, positive action rear clicky. Nice feel in the hand when working, knurled texture is non-slip even when sweaty. Nicely balanced white with no noticeable blue or violet tinge.
This will be my new daily carry light, since I work at an observatory I am in the dark, a lot, and take flashlights seriously.
Cons: Delivered without the lens! I found a replacement from an older light I had.
Good design and parts, but assembled without good quality control. A few minutes disassembling, cleaning the threads and brushing out bits of manufacturing crud helped enormously.
Other: Good value, a light that would cost multiples of the price if purchased retail in the US.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This is an excellent compact flashlight. Very bright from a single AA cell. Pulls approx 1amp from a (duracell) alkaline, and a wee bit over 2amps from a good NiMH. The Q5 cree emitter is a very good choice, tint stated as WC and seems to match well with my R2WC emitters from other sources.
O-rings at lens, head and tail joints ensure a waterproof light. Tested (accidentally) in garden water-butt to arms-depth!
Good uniform coating, seems fairly hard and hasn't been beaten up by my keys carried in same pocket.
Glass lens, nice and thick, seems to be coated, and has ground edges for a higher quality feel.
Nice rev-clickie, and GITD switch boot feel good and I've not broken it yet despite frantic clicking and flashing.
Knurling and threads cut well, all joints match up beautifully.
Cons: Mine came with only one thread lubed. Not serious as everything gets stripped, inspected, cleaned and re-lubed.
Other: Very nice pocketable bright EDC flashlight. Worth buying.
