Pros: The one that I received looked different (but better) than the original C2 that I already own!
The clicky switch was more sturdy than the one on my previous C2.
I found it cheaper to buy this kit and use the parts from it on my previous C2's, than it was to buy new C2's again.
Cons: Mine came without a lens :-(
Other: Well made and perfect for spare parts as well as for making your own custom flashlight.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The threads where smooth, o-rings in place, pulls apart very easy. Nice size, weight and construction.
Cons: The only grumble I have is that the lens and reflector are held in place by pressure from the LED. Presumably that's why there is an isolator supplied for the top of the LED. Some may find the head to big for their pockets, but I specifically bought this for the larger head.
Other: If you want to make a torch to your specifications then this is a good starting point, for this size of torch.

Pros: Great host...relatively small and lightweight...good price...everything you need except the led and driver. The reflector gives a good wide flood, but also projects very well. Its xr-e /mc-e sized...but an xp-g works well in it and it could be drilled out to accept P7
Cons: The threading on the bezel looks fine...but it takes a few tries to thread it back on once removed...a bit fiddly. Spare pills not available yet...it would be great to be able to buy a multipack of pills...or even assembled pill/led/driver sets for this
Other: My favourite host performance wise. The reflector is well suited to XP-G emitter..though the hole is bigger than xp-g a white ptfe isolator helps reflect. With xp-g the beam is a very thick light sabre that goes a long, long way...as far as any p60 type but thicker. Obviously Q5 and R2 emitters fit...work well, but the XP-G is better. Dx don't sell xpg stars at time of writing..mine have 14mm carefully centred stars..but 20mm are available for a snugger fit...just not at dx yet. The reflector shape also gives a wide spread of flood. There's nothing to lose at this price and you can just keep updating the emitter as new ones become available

Pros: Basically got this shell because Sku# 36357 has a male end cap. So cant find a pressure switch for it.
Reflector is larger. Sku#36357 inners in this baby is BRUTAL!
Cons: Not any really. Still can't find any of my pressure switches that will fit this but could be lousy threads. I have to look through my stuff more but at least its a female.
My only cons are with the #36357 5 mode crap, not with this housing.
Other: Other than the 5 mode #36357 short comings. This shell makes the #36357 Rock more than my LEO friend's Tactical lights and they spent way more money on theirs!!!!!!
Some would say just get the emitter and driver board and use it with this , but I find it better to get the other light so I still have more spare parts.

Pros: - Excellent appearance/quality (so far the best of my three earlier C2 models) - Threads + fittings are in quite good tolerance (only the pill rattled a little) - Can be customized with 14 mm silicone caps, SKU: 5498 - Included almost every part but...
Cons: ... The pill arrived without the brass-ring. You have to find or lathe the ring by yourself to fit a driver-pcb. Therefore two points for "Ease-of-use rating". - Pill was little odd. You can install a star board emitter on it, but the wire holes will stay under the star. So basically star emitters won't fit.
Other: In my case, the missing brass-ring didn't disturb, because I took a compelete pill from a broken C2 flashlight. This was a perfect spare part, despite that the complete flashlight are only few dollars higher. Therefore I only recommend this for spare parts.

Pros: Nice looking flashlight without scratches and such. Threads have good tolerances everywhere. Good host for XM-L.
Cons: Misses the brass ring to hold driver in place, the threads are there but the ring is missing. Not sure if i could have used the ring anyway, my drivers AMC7135 sits to close to the edge. Not sure how i will get it to sit in place, anyone have an idea? Works when the battery pushes the driver in place but that doesnt feel to good.
Other: Will probably buy more of these flashlight bodies to use in future projects!

Pros: One of the few DIY host options available. The parts thread together smoothly and the finish is pretty decent.
Cons: The pictures show the brass ring used to keep the driver board in place, but it is not delivered. This is a big, annoying problem.
Other: I can only recommend this DIY flashlight to two types of people - 1) those that did not plan on using the brass ring; or 2) those that have spare parts on-hand.

Pros: I used this host for an XM-L T6 emitter (SKU 50599) and a Nanjg 105C 2.8A driver from elsewhere. The flood and throw with this combination is outstanding. The host has excellent heat sinking as the body gets very hot - even too hot to touch. The threads are quite good. Unlike some others, mine came with the BRASS RING installed in the pill!
Cons: The battery compartment is a little too short for protected 18650 cells. This is partly due to the intrusion of the thick 105C driver board a little way into the compartment. I note, however that my other C2 which is already made (SKU 1446) has different tail cap internals from this one and if I use that I can fit protected 18650's. not really a con but hole in reflector too big for XM-L
Other: An excellent host for flashlight projects.
