UltraFire C3 Cree Q5-WC 190-Lumen LED Flashlight with Extension Tube (1*AA/1*14500)

Pros: - bright light with nice throw/spill pattern
- versatile due to extension tube (works with 1 or 2 AAs)
- relatively easy to disassemble (see other thoughts)
- build quality: the finish and threads are good
- runtime: a little over one hour with two LSD-AAs (rated 2200mAh)
- can tailstand, although the strap might get in the way
- no blinking modes

Cons: - build quality: the aluminum heatsink for die LED has a bulge directly below the emitter. You can juggle the LED-Star from side to side, meaning there is only a very small point of contact for heat conduction. There was a lot of thermal grease under the LED-star but that can't replace a smooth contact area. In the long term this could damage the LED by overheating.
- Not really a con, since this is a very compact light. But it gets quite warm during longer use. I measured a maximum surface temperature of 53,5°C on the head and 41°C on the grip (tailstanding on a table). If you hold it in your hand, the temps will be a little lower.

Other: I think with a little tweaking this is a perfect light for everyday carry or backup use. And even without that it is still a good, small, flexible and very bright light. If you then consider the value for money, you simply have to buy it.

Pros: this is my 6th flashlight I have purchased and it remains the #1 on my list of preferences

Cons: threads and O-Rings should be greased during manufacture,but we all know how DX's flashligts will need grease when first purchased, anyhow I always grease all my flashlights when they are delivered,If you dont grease you may end up tearing the well made threads,

Other: The flashlight does not seem to be much brighter using the 14500 battery,as to using the flashlight with 2 x AA batteries,If you need a versatile battery for home and garage use then this one is going to be just what you need

Pros: Build quality is very good for the price (or even double/triple the price). Smooth grey satin finish is elegant and nice to touch and look at. The light is bright and as white as you can want. To my eyes it's a perfect white... neither warm nor cool. The threads are very nice quality and fitted with o-rings. Using the light on one AA, I notice the light starts off bright, but drops noticeably in intensity after a few seconds. This doesn't happen when using 2xAAs. The light remains at a steady bright level. Therefore I find it's best to use a 2xAA configuration. The beam is quite wide, providing adequate useful flood with a bright spot in the center. There's no rattle of the batteries inside since the fit is perfectly snug. The flashlight has good ergonomics with useful knurling for grip and the shape is easy to hold.

Cons: Can tailstand, but it's not perfect. The tail button sticks out just slightly making it wobble. With the extension tube it's rather unsteady but tailstand is still possible. Some threads were dirty but they can be cleaned with oil easily. There is no o-ring by the lens. The flashlight rolls.

Other: This flashlight exceeded my expectations. It's very pretty to look at, but more importantly, it's a great size and practical (uses regular AA batteries). Highly recommended for the use around the house, car, or where ever a portable light is needed.

Pros: When I decided which one of this Ultrafire models to get, I invested the extra bucks and must say the bright anodized finish on this torch is well worth it.
Function is easy, on- off. Reliability is good, sometimes I need to turn the bezel, i.e. tighten it on the thread to maintain electric contact. Really good brightness and endurance, even when used with a single AA cell. What I read here on dealextreme was what I got!

Cons: needs some when using it( read above), has been flickering a few times, very shortly. Probably because of the regulating electronics.

Other: Time invested in reading the reviews was well invested; Torch performs fairly well. Feels and does like a professional light, basically! A torch to me is in many aspects a simple device. It was no different when handling this nice edc light.

Pros: Strong Light. Metal housing, feels good. Build quality is, at first sight rather good and solid. Beats my old monstrous maglite by far

Cons: Sometimes, light seems to be flickering. Housing may get warm after while Futhermore, I can not think of any

Other: Easy to us, powerful and convenient flashlight. Without extension tube very small and easy to keep in you pocket Going to buy for relatives as well.
