  • Perfect flashlight

posted by Hotzeklotz on 00:48:07 G4T 01/04/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The flashlight is very powerfull, I have 2 other flashlights but they don't even come close.
I tried the flashlight outside and it is still very bright over a "great" distance (approx. 70 metres).
The build of the flashlight is very solid.

Cons: There is no battery 18650 included.
You also need to buy a charger.
A con is, but maybe thats personal, I don't want a lot of modes, because I use the Flashlight professionally and you don't want to strobe accidently in the face of other people

Other: A perfect light with lots of power.
It would be even better if the battery would be included.

  • WICKED bright - even brighter than the P7-C

posted by EdFromOhio on 06:49:44 G4T 06/04/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: This thing is BRIGHT. I mean blinding. It seems at least as bright as my car's headlight. Even with your eyes closed, you can still see this light shining through your eyelids. High mode is first when you turn it on, so you don't have to cycle through medium and low to get this thing blasting like previous versions. Good build quality. Could use a little grease on the threads, but that's not hard to add. Fairly compact design and light weight.

Cons: I hate having so many modes and wish there were some way to customize these to only have the modes you want.

Other: If you want a crazy bright light, this is it. If you want to use this on a bicycle, get some TwoFish clones on here to mount it to your handlebars (sku.31871.) I have 3 on there so when one battery quits, I don't have to stop and swap batteries.

  • The brightest Flashlight

posted by zhulama on 10:23:32 G4T 16/04/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Extremely bright, destroys P7 in side by side comparison.
Very good throw, strong spot and usable spill.
    No visible artifacts.
Low Forward Voltage (3.1V@2.6A) so upgrade to six, seven or even eight 7135 350mA regulators will be really nice!
Parts that are made by machines are really nice and quality is really good.

Cons: Although machined parts are REALLY good, human work on it isn't as good (at least not on mine).
LED star wasn't tightened enough so I was afraid of thermal breakdown.
When I tightened the star, one of the wires got cut because one of the holes wasn't drilled at the right spot.
I had to disassemble it and solder new wires, then I tightened the star with some thermal grease, put both wires through the same hole (the good hole) and soldered them again.

Other: The brightest flashlight I ever seen, much brighter than P7 and it visibly blows my old 1 amp Q5 even when current drops under 1.5A.
If you know how to do some DIY, it is must buy!
If you don't know DIY, buy it anyways, it is that good!

  • Wow, very bright..

posted by rallemann on 16:21:36 G4T 23/04/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Well, very bright for the size.... Realy impessing everyone.. Buil quality is absolute ok if you now UltraFire... Just take some lubes and thermal lubes at critical points, this will work fine for xou...

Cons: Wow, wow... gets realy hot on full power, def NOT realy regulated, no real con for me, but a fault on descriptiom anyway... Short time for usage on full Power! Have this in mind when ordering!

Other: Buy this, if you want to impess, on a small torch, but only if you can hande the minor problems... Good luck!

  • very bright Flashlight, highly recommended

posted by moregothic on 12:38:53 G5T 01/05/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - EXCELLENT Machining, propably the best I have ever seen on a DX light (and I've seen many of them)
    - perfect threads
    - very bright, although propably not even close to 1200lm
    - very compact, no sharp edges, especially no wannabe assault crown, good to wear in almost any pocket
    - plenty o-rings
    - well balanced modes, working memory

Cons: - clicky is hard to operate single-handed
    - 1200 lumens are definately overrated (I own another XM-L lamp which is rated 750lm and is about as bright as this one)

Other: This is a very well made, very bright flashlight for the money. Strongly recommended!

  • Maybe near 850 lumens but still very bright

    posted by milen76 on 06:27:13 G5T 09/05/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Its very bright, it comes with the new Cree LED that offers near 160 lumens per watt. Total brightness of my flashlight is near 850 - 900 lumens at hi mode after first 2 minutes of use. Build quality is average to good. Fits protected batteries with no problem. Has memory and the memory works as expected. Good throw, usable spill and strong spot. Can blind you even with a closed eyes. Compact design and lightweight. I use this flashlight as EDC. I put it in my bag everyday. Owning this flashlight will make neighbors from the next block really hate you :-) Usable Mid and Lo mode. I found that Lo mode works very fine for my needs in dark and saves battery life very well. Tailstands wihout a problem.

Cons: Gets realy hot on full power. The body is too small for enough heat dispersion of the led so I wouldnt recommend more than 10 minutes in high mode because led life will decrease. Its not driven at 3000mA all the time. With fresh battery I measured 2620 mA, when battery voltage drops under 3,9V the current is near 2000mA so with the time brighness decreases. The strobe mode is just as expected but the SOS mode is SOO :-) - so I doubt I will use this feature. Pls Ultrafire fix your SOS mode or just remove it. The tailcap do not glow in the dark and is too fitted inside the body so its operated hardly with the thumb, I would preffer bigger tailcap that glows in the dark. The body is HA-II as advertised. Wish it was HA-III. The reflector is SMO. I think OP is better for this flashlight. The reflector is not good centered to led so it has bad light spill from one side of the center that maked me crazy first time i saw it. I fixed that and now is okay. There was a dust between reflector and the front glass. Some compressured air done the job easely but its annoying when you light the flashlight for the first time. The price must be lower with near 2 $ for this light! As you expected battery life is under hour if you use protected batteries in hi mode only. The threads are not greased enough. So you must apply additional silicone grease. Its a MUST!

Other: Its good to average product. I defenitely will buy another 2 or 3 if the price falls down or gift package appears in DX. Its a great gift for lots of ppl. Its not a perfect product but its good enough to buy.

  • respectable vs m3c4 xml

posted by customled on 13:51:20 G5T 09/05/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: This review is based on comparison to the m3c4 single xml. this light is a sleeper. i opened it and thought "hmm, its like a 501b with a slightly fatter head", but it caught me of guard when i turned it on. it became quite apparent, she's packing an xml. color is very pure white(same as m3c4) with no magenta, green or excess blue. output is outstanding, beam/throw is like my tk40 but much whiter and probably brighter, i won't say it's AS bright as the m3c4 but it is closer than you would think. i have doubts of the tk35 beating the TH-T60(plus those all seem greenish compared to eagletac)

Cons: large, pretty faint donut hole detected. too many modes for my liking & takes more than just a few seconds to "reset".. you figure to do this well vs the eagletac it's really sucking on the single 18650. at this size/output ratio it seems "too good to be true" :crosses fingers:

Other: At 1/4 the price of the m3c4, half the batteries, a fraction of the size... temporary or not, if you prefer output over everything this light is sure to put a smile on your face.

  • Very bright handy light

    posted by Vasfed0 on 16:25:18 G5T 12/05/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Doubt there're 1200 lumens, but is very bright, almost comparable to car headlights, much brighter than most flashlights of the same size
    - Good build quality
    - Made of metal
    - Feels nice and solid in hand
    - Handy strap

Cons: - Does not have memory for last used mode - each time it turns on on next thus you have to cyctle throught all of them.
    - No way to limit it to some single (for example 'medium power') mode
    - No batteries/charger included (not really a con)

Other: If you like small bright lights - this one is definitely for you

  • Best flashlight I bought from DealExtreme so far

posted by Triwax on 20:30:10 G7T 01/07/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: -VERY BRIGHT!
    -Nice Throw of lightbeam
-Double O-rings, probably watertight (but not for diving og swimming)
    - 5 mode memory funktion
    - No rattling ( when using Ultrafire 18650 battery)
    - Light weight
    - Perfect as a gift.

Cons: - I dont really need the 5 mode function, next one will be single clicky.

Other: Best flashlight I have bought:
My big old 3 x D-Cell Maglite is really dim, compared to this, much smaller, exellent flashlight.

    posted by huuu23pk on 09:51:28 G7T 06/07/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very Bright When compared with the P7 flashlight. ?Battery 18650 See that much brighter. It is illuminating far about 20-30 meters.Circle of light is very wide

Cons: I think the light does not reach 1200 LM. Medium quality, but it's worth the money.I think a 3 mode High-Medium-off. It is enough to use.But overall I'm satisfied with it.

Other: I love it. It will be a flashlight in my car for emergency use.
