Pros: -A wide range of imput voltages.
    -Does not overheat.
-Looks neat, no scratches on mine
-Lightweight (around 100g without battery cells) and compact.
-Narrow spot (maybe 6 degree?) and quite a lot of flood. All very even.
    - Gives similar output to other '200 lumen' single led's or a 10watt MR11 halogen bulb.
    - I guess it's waterproof from blowing into it.

    Cons: -No low mode.
-Build quality - one of my two torches squeaks when it is unscrewed, all the threads have metal debris, and worst of all when I took it apart the pill containing the circuit board contained metal shavings. I cleaned it all out.
-One waterproof ring at the lens was faling out, i don't know it was even the right size, I can't fit it in.

Other: Is it value for money ?
From what I read, I reckon that if you spend twice as much on a better single led light, it will at most be 50% brighter. The 17 dollar price and it's compact size make it attractive to cyclists who could conceivably use half a dozen at once.

  • amazing ultrafire flashlight

    posted by traps38 on 22:42:07 G11T 17/11/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: hasn't been that long since i stumbled on DX and this place is great.
    this ultrafir light is awesome.
throw a light and almost as bright as my tk10 and i payed almost 90$ for that one.
this ultrafire is amazing for 16$.
fits my protected ultrafire 18650 battery(sku 1283) perfectly and also my primary cr123 bats also.
buid uality is great and doesn't get hot at all.
has also a little of an assault crown too.
my tk10 is 225 lumens and this ultrafire seems either better or at least the same.
    would definately buy another one.

Cons: it is not as perfect as a tk10 but it is not as expensive also.
the clickie switch is a little crooked but no big deal could fix it if i want.
and the round beem on the wall is not perfectly round.
came just in a bubble wrap and bubble envelope(but don't forget the price)

Other: bootom line for the money this is a really neat flashlight.
i have in the folowing days purchased alot more and reviews of the other items will be comming soon.
the biggest pro for the hot DX stuff that to ship to CANADA it is free and shipping time is anywhere from 7 10 days till i get my stuff.
    awesome thank you dx

  • Very BRIGHT!!!!

    posted by Bnow0707 on 20:36:12 G11T 18/11/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very BRIGHT. This light will out shine my SF 9P!!!!! The light has a good tight spot with a good amount of flood throw. This will be the perfect light for using with my weapon mount and pressure switch tail cap.

Cons: I honestly cant think of much. You could count the 40-60 minute run time on CR123A batteries as a con although I've yet to run a set of batteries thru it.
When using CR123A batteries they do rattle just a little. A plastic tube to stop the rattle would be nice.

Other: This is a great flashlight at a low dollar price. It isn't the "perfect" flashlight but it's very close. I would reccomend buying a set of rechargeables and a charger to go with this light.

    Pros: Good fit and finish.
If Romisen has become the standard for China machining then I would say this is close enough.
    Decent tint/brightness.
    Had some lube in it.
    O rings included (about time)
    ACTUALLY IN STOCK

Cons: head seems to want to thread funny when foil is added.
    Maybe it isn't a con....just be careful.
    Not super bright.
I don't have an good estimate but maybe...150 lumens?
Lots of single mode lights are just medium bright, isn't really a can, just a trade off.

Other: I had been buying Romisen because I liked their build quality, but their emitters are falling behind.
THIS IS my new P60 platform.
and comes with a good emitter already!

  • Good light

posted by oronocova on 19:51:31 G12T 09/12/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good build quality, not great, but good.
    Smooth finish, nice knurling.
    Switch feels good (reverse clicky)
    Single mode!
This thing thumps, I put it up against my Fenix T1 (220lm). It is not up to that mark but is very close and because of it's more collimated beam throws nearly as far as the T1.

Cons: Not lubed from factory. O-rings look cheap.

Other: For the price you would be hard pressed to find a better made light or a brighter light.

  • Nice streamlined P60 host

posted by gearhounds on 08:09:13 G1T 28/01/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Streamlined medium weight light that comes with what appears to be sku 11836 Super Bright R2 drop in. Finish seems very tough and is a nice black matte finish instead of the pictured shiny polished one. Threads are well cut and are clean of all anodizing where they should be for good conduction. Strike bezel is just right to not be annoying. Fits protected 18650's easily.

Cons: Not as beefy as I would have liked, especially at the head where it really ought to be for heat management. Lens was loose upon delivery and the the lens retaining ring is very thin. This P60 does not seem as bright and is cooler tinted than some of the original R2 drop ins I have gotten. Anti-roll knurling only works on flat surfaces. UF please ditch the reverse clicky!

Other: You really can't go wrong for less than $17 for a multi-battery P60 platform that is reasoably bright, compact, and eye pleasing. Worth the price of admission.

  • Ultrafire R2 SUPERLEDLIGHT

posted by lasermanathome on 16:57:07 G3T 24/03/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very bright compared to all other
flashlights, equipped with only one ledemitter, when used with 2 x16340
3.0 or 3.7V much brighter than with one 18650
Suitable for most situations, it can't be compared with xenonbulb Ultrafire-flashlights, the 6000K sunlightcolor
    makes situations better judgable than
with the more yellowlike light of glowing bulbs and their shorter autonomy
    with comparable lightoutput.

Cons: The focus has to be tuned by turning the reflector about 1/4 turn back and sealed with a drop of cyanoacrylate. The quantity of light this flashlight produces is often more than you will need, a PWM moderator, wich comes with longer using time should be advised.
    But for this price...
For a few dollars you can buy a pcb by DX wich provides this function.

Other: Best Buy, can easily be moddered to outstanding performance.
Should be in every home /ship etc.for
    emergency-situations.
The shelflife of CR123 batteries is 10++
    years

  • Really Good

posted by Detriz on 11:10:00 G6T 19/06/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: Really Bright.
    Excelent Build Quality.
    Good Painting.
    Kind of heavy.
    Glass Lens.
    Uses 2 CR123A.
Small. Its smaller then my hand.

Cons: When you use it during some time, arround 10 minutes, it gets really hot.
It does not come in a box.
It does not have a case.

Other: At night you can see the light beam. I used it to see an object really far away (more then 100m). There are a couple of O-Rings, but i have not tried if they work well. It seems to.

  • Not a bad deal

posted by caerlon on 13:42:46 G7T 08/07/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -the R2 module alone is worth $10, so you basically get a P60 host for another $5 - so when you read my 'cons' keep in mind I am reviewing basically a $5 flashlight.
    -CHEAP
    -very bright, decent runtime
    -it works
    -waterproof (see cons)
-fits 18650 sku.5790, or two CR123A rechargeables or primaries.

Cons: -low quality anodizing, and some of the machined edges like the crown are unpleasantly sharp. the build quality, finish, machining, design and (IMO) matte look of the WF-502Bs is superior.
-mine was missing an O-ring. there are 4 O-rings in the light: 1 under the lens, 1 large one at the head, and two 20mm O-rings on the barrel. one of the 20mm O-rings on mine was missing.
    -mushy, amorphous black clicky button.
-while this is superior in every way to something like a Maglite or the average Joe's idea of a flashlight, it is nowhere near as rugged as, say, a Fenix TK10. The aluminum is too thin, anodizing is too poor, etc to survive very hard use.
-only one mode: high. while i really appreciate the simplicity and no-fuss use of such a light, the default high setting is very bright and you dont really need it all the time. if you can deal with the mildly annoying operation, IMO a multi-mode light is better since it allows you to drop down to medium or low if thats all you need, as well as conserving battery life.

Other: Its a good light, but there are better lights in its price range to be had here if you look around.

  • Great P60 host

posted by caddymum on 02:59:51 G7T 21/07/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Great deal and an amazing price to go with it.
Side by side with a TK-11 this is brighter than it by a small amount for 1/8th of the price.
The overall construction is really nice, and very smooth.
All threads were nice and smooth, and did require a little grease, but no filings were present.
Fit and finish is very clean, and very shiny.
Gives off great throw for such a small light.

Cons: Not as durable as the Fenix TK-11.

Other: Great light to have around for anything.
Might not be the best for cycling, as it has more throw than flood.
    Easily seen 200 yards away.
