UltraFire WF-501B Cree XPG-WCR5 320-Lumen LED Flashlight with Strap (1*18650/2*16340)

Pros: I bought one of these to compare it to SKU 16240. This light was about the same brightness but put out alot more light. The beam was just as bright at distance but had alot larger area lit up.

Cons: After just a few mins running off a protected trustfire 18650 battery the light died. I thought it was just the battery so I put in two CR123a's from another light that was working. Nothing, apparently the light just died.

Other: I think this will be a great light and dont fault DX for it failing bc it did work for about 5 minutes when it arrived. I plan on trying to return this one for another or at least buying one more to try out because they are really bright.

Pros: Good threads on the body, nice design, good finish and easy turning threaded parts. P60 sized pill makes it easy to upgrade.

Cons: Light worked only intermittently for a few minutes then died completely. The problem is the LED was only held onto the heatsink/board with a sticky piece of paper laying over top of it. Maybe other ones are soldered but mine was not. When it quit, if you pushed the LED with the lens off the flashlight it would light up. Because of the poor contact I think the LED got too hot and the clear domed lens on the actual LED fell off!!!

Other: I wouldn't buy one of these without more reports, the other one isn't good either, or if you don't mind adding your own drop-in, but its not very cost effective then.

Pros: Very bright. Noticeably brighter than XRE Q5 in similar setup/drive current. I have been running mine for awhile now without any of the problems other members have posted.

Cons: It does get warm. I would be worried to run this for extended periods of time (>30min). The heat transfer from the dropin to the body probably isn't that great since it is just metal on metal (no thermal paste), so with the body getting really hot, I know the LED must be scorching.

Other: Get this light. For $14 it is a great "wow" light. Very impressive output.

Pros: Cheap. I like the satin finish these hosts have been coming in lately. good size. beam seems to have a little better transition from hot-spot to flood area than my R2. Doesn't get hot at all on my Trustfire 18650 and runs for hours.

Cons: Same cons as any 501b host. Not top notch quality, but good enough for the price I guess. Need to add a little grease to the o-rings for a smoother connection when twisting together or apart. Spring in tailcap may be too long, but some pliers and cutters fix that. Just trim it a little and turn the jagged end down.

Other: For the price, this light is awesome on 18650 (I use SKU 20392 ). You can even use the 3.7V Xenon bulb with this one. Now I'm going to order several more.

Pros: Very bright light and does not heat up too much after long time on. Good clicky switch that works well.

Cons: The finishing of the aluminum casing could have been a bit neater. On the one flashlight I received there is a lip where one needs to insert the battery. I filed it off with a needle file and it was all good.

Other: Buy a few and keep them all over the place for if you need a really good emergency light or just want to brighten up your life a bit.

Pros: Like all Ultrafire flashlights, this one is very good quality. The construction is very solid and the grip textures on the body make it very nice and comfortable to hold in your hand. It works well with CR123A, RCR123A (16340) or 18650, so this gives you a wide range of options when it comes to batteries. Recommend using TrustFire batteries for good performance. The light is very bright and goes pretty far.

Cons: It has only one mode, the high output one, so it will drain the battery very quick.

Other: If you need a decent power light with a good brightness, go for it.
