  • Good light, but not fantastic

Pros: First off, this light is exactly what it is portrayed to be - an inexpensive, portable UV LED light that fluoresces various UV reactive materials. It accepts 18650 cells as well as CR123As. In fact, I am running it right now on two CR123A cells that will not illuminate the 6v incandescent in my Surefire G2. The textured reflector provides for an even beam with a distinctive hot spot that throws well across a darkened room.

Cons: The UV light output seems to dwindle as the wavelength drops below 365 or 375nm. The build quality is good, but not great, and the LED is slightly off center in the reflector. The clip can be difficult to open enough to get over the material of a pocket.

Other: I am glad I purchased this light, and would recommend it to anyone that needs a handheld UV source. It is not, however, going to replace specialized lights that have higher output in the 350-365nm range.

  • The brightest hand held uv light I have ever seen

Pros: This has a brighter and better focused beam then any multi led light. Very soft switch.

Cons: UV lights put out a lot of heat even @ 1 watt and this one is no exception. Dx has not yet told any one what drop ins will fit this light.

Other: The WF-502B is a very well made light and I would recommend this or the cree version to any one shopping for a new light.

Pros: great light and last for a few hours using the 18650 battrie also puts out some nice uv-deep purple light that lights up alot of things very very small compared to some flash lights i have used before

Cons: the battrie fits really snug this could be a good thing but its bad if your tring to remove it takes a bit of shaking
other then that theirs really no cons to this compact little light

Other: at 1W this thing will blow you away at how powerfull it is for its size and i love how its a nice portable black light i love the thing

Pros: Great Light. Very bright UV light. Runs forever on a single battery, or run it on two batteries with the same brightness. Cheap. Very well built. Glass lens and aluminum reflector.

Cons: None really. It does get a little warm after a while. This is actually good.

Don't get it if you have OCD. You'll never feel clean again!

Other: The UV light has a little more purple then a fluorescent black light. Great for finding pet stains. Makes me want to clean more.

Pros: Light itself is solid and robust. Clip acually works as a clip and not something that just grabs stuff in your pockets. Obviously puts out UV, or else all the stains I'm finding wouldn't show up. Good for finding stains around the john (yuc), sink, and kitchen counter. Also shows security strips in cash quite well. Brings out some inclusions in my mineral collection. Alas, no scorpions in my neck of the woods so unable to determine if those critters show up.

Cons: Wish it was less purple light, and more invisible UV. Also came assembled with a plastic disc with a conducting rivet installed flush in the positive end of battery tube which is USELESS and causes contact issues. Seriously, I have no idea what purpose it serves other than retaining batteries when the light head is removed. Mine was easily removed, and good riddance.

Other: Paired with a good P60 insert such as the Q5 or R2, this light is a good choice for any good flashaholic.

  • Great UV Light that serves as a P60 host!

    posted by Hypnosis4u2nv on 17:32:42 G3T 31/03/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - UV - Doubles as a P60 host, swap the UV drop-in for a Q5 or R2 and you have yourself a flashlight as well - Accepts 18650 and RCR123A's

Cons: - RCR123A's (at least UltraFire protected sku.3273) cause connection issues.. Turning the tailcap more than halfway causes the light to stop working..
    - Seems there is some sort of disc wedged in the positive end of the battery tube which causes the issue with the RCR123A's.. Removing it fixed my RCR123A problem and no further issues.. I really would like to know what the hell the purpose of that thing is besides holding the battery in place when the head is removed..
    - UV emits more of a purple light, so you must use the hotspot for picking out things..
    - My emitter is not centered = hotspot not well defined..

Other: Its a great light to double as a flashlight, just get a P60 drop-in and your set.. For the money, it can serve multiple uses.. I for one had to throw way an area rug after shining the UV light on it, no thanks to my Jack Russel Terrier..

Pros: It is a very bright UV flashlight. Works perfectly out of the box (whew!). Excellent build quality. Is modable. Much brighter than the keychain type UV lights that I had before this one.

Cons: Limited usefulness (for me anyway). I plan on looking for scorpions and checking hotel linens for stains with it.

Other: Get this if you need a high quality UV flashlight. It's quite bright!

Pros: 1. UV is fun! 2. The body of this light is very attractive, making it a perfect P60 host. 3. Takes all manner of protected and unprotected cells. 4. Pocket clip is a nice touch. 5. Clicky switch is easier to depress than some, making it girlfriend/spouse-friendly.

Cons: 1. LED in module was not centered.
    2. Light came with fine scratches/dings on the bezel - maybe from shipping?
    3. If using 18650 cells, make sure everything is screwed down - contact is barely made due to construction (but they do work).

Other: Buy it as a host - use the P60 UV LED module with another body if you want. That's what I did. Now my days are spent wondering about the origins of the various stains that lurk in every corner of my house.

Pros: Very bright. Easily shows stains in carpet and tile grout from all the way across the room. Walking around the house at night with this light will amaze you. Might even scare you a little, especially if you have young kids or pets :)

Cons: My Trustfire protected 18650 batteries, DX part # 5790, will not fit. The battery tube is not wide enough. But a generic, unprotected 18650 does fit and the light works fine with two CR123A cells.

Other: For under 20 bucks, this light is a great bargain. It does everything I wanted it to do. It easily finds stains in the carpet, furniture, etc, and it's fun to see what sort of items glow in the dark. I have read complaints about other lights being too week to work more than a few inches away from the carpet. Not a problem with this light. If you get that close with this light, you will need sunglasses. It's that bright.

    Pros: Works fine
    Quality light.
Works well on 2X CR123 or (if they fit) one 18650 - no difference in output.

Cons: Not all of my protected 18650 cells fit in this light. I tried 10 cells, and only 3 would go into this light. I don't have the unprotected cells to try. Having to sort cells to find those that fit is a nuisance.

Other: It is fun to play with, look at various things, see what glows brightly in the dark, look at women's hair and see it glow weird when they color it, and look at various paper currency.
