Pros: very bright...good price! I like the 3 modes...high when you need alot of light, low when you need to save batteries or don't need too much light, strobe to be seen or disorient intruder or wild animal.

Cons: not quite as bright as I thought it would be, although it is very bright, don't get me wrong, just no where near 900 lumens

Other: Great flashlight... nice 3-mode setup... good price.

Pros: This si a nice sized light for the amount of light it puts out.
    Feels solid and well built.
    Quite bright for it's size
The tail cap clicker is positive feeling and makes running through the three modes easy.
The three different modes are the only ones someone would need. The strobe is a tad fast, though and I really like being able to go from high to medium for situation where not so much light is needed.

Cons: Not near as bright as I thought it would be, although it is very, very bright for it's size.
Batteries may be tough to find. 123's fit a bit loose and may rattle.
Pocket clip is really tight and hard to use.

Other: A decent buy for the price.

Pros: I liek this light. its big, has some weight to it, not so small you're going to loose it. light is bright but not as bright as i though it would be. see cons..
doesn;t get to hot even on high, another good thing about the large casing acting as a heatsink

Cons: this light is rated at 900 lumens but it not much brighter then my little tiny 14500 light in an unlight room. outside in the dark it deff throws more light and fills the area much more then my s10

    Other: bottom line

    Pros: -very easy to use.
-will cast a beam of light very far
-lights up an entire room on high, on low, still casts more light than an average flash light of around the same size.
    -good build quality.

Cons: -beam size (focus i guess you could call it) isn't adjustable, but also not really needed.
-gets very hot in about 5 minutes on high. on low, it stays cool for over 30 minutes and never felt like it was getting warm.

Other: It's a very good flash light for the price, very bright too. I don't have any complaints about the flash light. And just as a note, it doesn't come with batteries, you have to order them separately. The build quality on this light also seems very solid.

Pros: small, compact, bright - kills my led maglite :-) Decent disorientating strobe, which is handy in my line of work

Cons: thought it would be brighter, but for the price, its awesome...has a good flood, butt he throw is not as good as i thought it would have been... gets fairly warm... had a small chip in the glass, but this is covered by the head, so its not really an issue

Other: its good. Bright enough. Price is good. Seems to be built well. Many uses, versatile

Pros: This light is very nice, compact and tactical. I really like the fast strobe and the clip. and serves to be an excellent tool in law enforcement with the fast strobe. Disorientates people momentarily for defensive tactics.

Cons: I have ordered quite a number of these for co-workers and a few of them had the wrong bulbs

Other: Great light, Great price and will definately buy more...just please check to make sure all is right before shipping out to us.

  • Not bright at first, got better after simple tweak

posted by RevolverOcelot on 08:45:14 G7T 19/07/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Bought this light because I wanted a super-bright light that uses a 501/502 drop-in and 18650 battery. 900 lumens sounds promising so I wanted to see the quality of this light for myself. Overall, I'm very impressed by the build quality of this light. It's my first 502 drop-in light and I'm very impressed. It feels comfortable in the hand and the light has a very wide beam. P7 lights have more flood and a softer hotspot but it's still pretty bright. This makes an excellent camping torch and has already become my EDC flashlight.

Cons: Light has a very dim dark spot in the center of the hotspot. It's hardly noticeable but if you're picky with your lights, you may notice it. Light is also yellow-ish in colour and not ultra white like my other UltraFire lights. Also, light is nowhere near 900 lumens. At most, I would say it's about 450 lumens after I tweaked it (see "Other Thoughts"). Pocket clip was also loose and the drill holes crooked. I used some loc-tite to tighten the clip in place so it's better now. If you prefer the light without the clip, you may want to seal the holes up with some silicone. Otherwise, water and dirt can easily get into the holes. The body of the flashlight also has some minor dents and scratchings from the factory.

Other: Despite a few small flaws, this is still a pretty good flashlight. It's a decent light to have plus the 502b body allows you to upgrade with drop-in bulbs. If you don't own a UF 501 or 502 light, get this light. If you already own a 50Xx light, you may want to pass on this one.

Pros: bright light, good size of head compare to the body. it lights a wide area, good when that is what you want.

Cons: thought it would be way brighter than this, compare to a cree i dont see the 650 lumen difference.

Other: i think its a little pricy for what you get, still satisfied but could of been more with a britter light.

    Pros: Light is very bright.
Small size makes it easy to carry.
    Light weight.
Very durable, I have dropped it several times and it doesn't even scratch.
It is almost as bright as my WF-500, although I do have an AW-18650 in it and not in the 500.
The strobe mode is disorienting. Does the job right, if entering a dark room with strobe mode on anyone in the room is going to be incapacitated.
The dim mode is still brighter than any other led I have ever come across, and lasted over 5 hours of continuous use with a 2600 mAh battery.

Cons: Clip unscrews about once a week.
The pattern is not completely smooth although, it is smooth considering the reflector is only slightly wider than the massive SSC-P7.
Light is a little blue, although it looks white on the customer pictures, something like 50k if I had to guess.
The three modes have a single button.

Other: Great flashlight for the price, I carry it everywhere.

Pros: Bright 502B, compact, well build (but need a some DIY work to proper cooling), easy to use.

Cons: The SSC-P7 emitter is good flooder emitter. So put it into so small body with so small reflector is not the best idea. But if you want 502B with the P7 - why not? The P7 is very-very hot, so you have to pay attention to the temperature and it will be good idea to add some extra heatsink - add metal foil and some thermal heat-sink compound (like sku.22510) around the drop in.

Other: If you want thrower based on the 502B get the 502B with the R5, if you want real flood - the 502B and whole the P60 series is not good choise. The P7 version is not so serious but ok for daily short-time use (more convinient than the R2 version thanks to the bigger center spot and much overal brigtness).
