Pros: This is a really simple item- basically just a quick release mount that lets you use your flashlight as a bike light, but it does the job really elegantly. You use the bottom lever action quick release clip to attach the mount to your handlebars and can then simply press your pocket size flashlight into the expanding top clip. This holds your light firmly in place but easily allows you to just pull the light off and take it with you, (leaving the mount in place on the bars) or you can just as easily take the whole mount as well by just flicking the lever. The mount also allows a small degree of adjustment between the bottom and top fixtures, so you can angle your flashlight in relation to the handlebars.

Cons: The only slight irritation is the fact that the rubber grip in the handlebar clamp is not attached so it drops out sometimes when you remove the mount, but this can easily be glued in place with a drop of superglue.
The flashlight clip is flexing every time you attach or detach a light- not sure how long it would last before it stressed and cracked, or whether this plastic will go brittle with the effects of UV light (but the mounts are so cheap you can buy several anyway)

Other: Buy a couple and have twin headlights on your bike.

Pros: I use two of these on my bike to mount two mini flashlights. The handlebar mount detaches very easily so you can carry the whole assembly with you. There is a little bit of swivel (left and right - probably about 10 degrees in either direction).

Cons: The rubber shim that came with the mount is much too thick for my road handlebars. I solved this by discarding the rubber shim and wrapping electrical tape around the mount instead. I don't know how durable the handlebar mount is. It's basically a thin metal ring that hooks around a plastic piece. Time will tell.

Other: Is effective. Holds my mini flashlight sturdy on pothole-ridden roads. I will be buying some more.

Pros: A good quick release mount. Its possible to setup an angle on flashlight to slide the flashlight a bit to the left or right. Very cheap.

Cons: The flashlight clip is flexing every time you attach or detach a light- not sure how long it would last before it stressed and cracked. With a flashlight with a diameter of 2.5cm, the clip does not grab well and sometimes bounces off.

Other: It's a good clip, made of durable material, with an affordable price, well worth the money spent and works fine.

  • Given it's usefulness, it should be priced lower!

Pros: I like that it is able to swivel --- about 10 degrees in either direction. Reasonably well-built --- but, with a couple of exceptions. (see comment in 'Cons', below.)

Cons: The pivot point is a small metal screw into ABS plastic --- instead of a rivet or 'nut and bold assembly'. It is only a matter of time before the ABS plastic threads wear out and there are problems. I somehow assumed that this holder would work for all smaller flashlights --- like some of the commonly-available economical standard 9-LED units. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Even though the product description refers to it being able to accommodate 3.2cm diameter flashlights, I don't think it is wise to use it with a flashlight much larger than 2cm in diameter. I say this for two reasons: 1) the diameter of the ABS-holding component is just over 1.5cm, and inserting a significantly larger flashlight will ultimately stress it beyond it's breaking point. 2) riding over rough terrain would likely cause a larger-diameter flashlight to 'pop-out' of the holder.

Other: This will only work well and safely for small flashlights that are 1-5 - 2.0 cm in diameter. Given this fact, and the built-quality issues noted above, this holder is overpriced. It really should have been about priced at about $1.00.

posted by ROOKiEcb on 10:05:19 G11T 10/11/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The price is very reasonable and it is a user friendly gadget. The instalation is very easy and the mount fits on standard MTB handlebar. All my CREE lights, SKUs 29095, 30987, 15457, 55244 fit and hold well even I ride my bike trough the forrest terrain.

Cons: The plastic material could be better and I would appreciate more rubber washers for better tighten but it is not very con because you can find anything similar at your home and use it as well.

Other: Worth to buy it !

  • A really useful gadget

posted by incredibilehulk on 14:55:29 G8T 21/08/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: A very useful gadget for those who ride. The material is more or less resistant. He does well on his duty. Easy to attach to the handlebar, presents the rotating head, in order to orient the beam in multiple directions.

Cons: It 'made ??of plastic, do not expect God knows what, but if treated well resists. The latch that holds the handlebar does not have the safety lock but simply aggangia. Remains tight, but I would have preferred a closure there as well. For the rest I do not think there are other cons.

Other: The cost is reasonable then this gadget is a must for cyclists or mountain bike.

  • Good and cheap mount for bike

    posted by kjur18 on 02:47:47 G8T 28/08/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -I bought it with sku.103456 and it fits perfectly -This mount is very easy to use, you can very easy and fast mount and unmount flashlight -It fits standard handlebars -It has rotating head, so you can turn it to the right or to the left by small degree - useful when you want to better illuminate a turn

Cons: I haven't found many cons, one of them is fact that putting larger flashlights will put more strain on flashlight holding part, plastic used to build this looks like quite high quality, but it bends too much with larger flashlights. Other con is that parts of rotating head will wear off quickly if you use it too much.

Other: Overall it is very useful gadget, cheap and quite well built.

  • Best bike-light mount on Deal Extreme

posted by cvolpe on 05:22:31 G11T 15/11/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I've tried a bunch of the different flashlight mounts on Deal Extreme and this one is the only one that doesn't suck. It can be a little hard to get a larger diameter light into the clip, but once in it holds surprisingly sturdy. Using it on a handlebar is good, but what I like to do with these even more is unscrew the clip part from the latch part and then attach the clip part to a bike helmet. Works awesome with one of the zooming 18650 lights and you don't have to deal with cables or people stealing your light or battery pack when you park your bike.

Cons: The latching mechanism is not very robust. Might not fit on larger handlebars.

Other: A combo of one of these on the handlebar and another on your helmet with AA lights make for a great bike light setup and a fantastic value - or for something really awesome use 18650 lights! Besides the much lower cost compared to the fancy HID lights, there's no cables to mess with and mounting/unmounting is so quick and easy you don't have to worry about theft.

  • Perfect for joining horizontal pipe to vertical pipe

posted by MikiNayak on 01:34:31 G11T 16/11/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: This is the second time I'm buying these. Very cheap, good quality rubber packing, reasonably good spring action. I used these to join horizontal curtain rods to verticle curtain rods that are attached to a bed so I could put mosquito net :)

Cons: Very plastiky. Hopefully it will last a few months at least. Also, these are only okay for hollow steel or plastic pipes as they will not take much weight. Can be used indoors only.

Other: Excellent price, excellent utility item.
