  • works great

Pros: No problems at all. works just as advertised. No weird drivers needed even though a CD is included with cloning utilities which could be useful to some. everything works and all the necessary adapters are included. It feels pretty sturdy including the cables and the LED activity indicator isn't blindingly bright but is easily visible.

Cons: the power cable is very snug which is a good thing, but it is a very tight fit. It still works just fine though.

Other: buy it. It can be used to read stuff of the new xbox hard drives. (no you can't use it to mod xbox dvd drives though).

Pros: Both SATA and IDE is like save me tons of trouble. Easier to connect than a IDE enclosure. It won't power up anything if you put the IDE connector in wrong order. This is a plus.

Cons: Connection is kinda clumsy. Nothing really big.

Other: It does the job just fine. Great option if you have a HD in a dock and wanna get or put something in IDE and don't like to open the PC case.

  • Better than I expected

Pros: -Everything was as posted in the article
-The adaptor is well built, I tried only the SATA slot and it works great
-Comes with a red activity light.
-The power source was better than I expected
    -Packaging was good

Cons: -None yet. Maybe it could have been a little cheaper?

Other: I recommend this if you don't want to spend money on an HDD dock because you don't mind all those cables lying around (including a power source the size of a laptop's).

  • Very Good product for the price

Pros: Robust, the power adapter for instance is better than my notebook's adapter. Support for IDE and SATA is a great feature. The cables and the adapter itself are very well built.

Cons: The huge amount of cables spread all over my desk. But I knew it would happen when I bought it. If you don't want so many cables, you'll have to spend more on another adapter. To me it's a very good trade off.

Other: One week using it, no problem until now. I'll keep using it, in the case that any problem shows up, I'll come back here and write a review, but it doesn't seem like it will, the adapter really gives you confidence.

  • Works Great

Pros: Includes all cables required to plug the HDD. I use it to recover files from damaged HDD and works great. Also works with partitioned hard drives. No drivers needed under Windows XP. Cables seems to be very well manufactured and very resistant. No need to restart everytime you plug a new Hard Drive and no need to play with jumpers to put HDD in slave, primary or secondary.

    Cons: Didn´t found anything yet.

Other: If you dont want to open your case everytime you want to connect a HDD BUY IT!

    Pros: - Easy to use
    - DC adapter doesnt get hot
    - No big DC adapter
    - Works as expected (doesnt do more doesnt do less)
    - Build quality is OK

Cons: - No powerswitch to cut of power, this way it always keeps running until unplug out the power cord.
    - Came with UK powercord only

Other: Tested this for more than a month(frequently) and i conclude:
It's worth the money, if you need a good USB to all adapter and you dont mind there isn't a powerswitch to turn off your usb to all adapter......then buy it!

Pros: Fast, Simple, Small. Comes with SATA cable and a molex-to-sata power adapter. Power supply is great, not heating. The cable is portable. The conector is good, no clearance. The finishing is good. Some aplications on CD.

    Cons: -Nothing

Other: Easy and Simple. Works very good. I test encrypting an HD ( 40 GB - Barracuda IDE ) for 2 times, without a trouble. Very simple, easy. Wonder works. I use Windows 7 64 bits and no drivers needed to install.

it connects to all of my devices (ps3, computer, laptop) with no problems.
a nice red light turns on when its on and blinks when its in use
ive had $40 enclosures that arnt as compatible as this plus its an easy swap to change hard drives

Cons: some sata hard drives it would start up but i unplugged it and plugged it back in and it always worked after that.

Other: its great for a cheap price.

  • USB 2.0 to All 2.5"/3.5" IDE/SATA HDD review

posted by CataVP on 05:51:45 G2T 16/02/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Support for IDE and SATA is a great feature. The cables and the adapter itself are very well built.I have used it on IDE hard drives ,on laptop hard drives 2.5'', and on sata hard drives it work great.I repaired over 20 hard drives with this and did not die on me.

Cons: The USB cable is short needs to be longer. After you use it the ide socket loosens up a bit and it is very easy to jump out of the hard drive plug.Be careful it comes with chinese plug and you need to buy a cable with the right plug for your country.

Other: It's a must have for every pc technician who wants to repair hard drives or copy data from a hard drive.
Buy one you will not regret it.

Pros: Just what promised. Works great on every hard-drive tested. Works on windows and mac. Tested os x snow leopard and lion. These is a must-have product for every true nerd. Also useful if need to rescue files from hard drive. Doesn't need extra drivers. Just plug it in.

Cons: Comes with no case, so annoying to keep in shell because of the cables coming along. Driver cd was mini-sized so it was not compatible with my cd-drive. Cables would have been better quality.

Other: Works fine, no problems in any cases.
