  • Plug and play convenience

Pros: I was surpised, my sound card was incompatible with one of my old games, and I plugged this in and instantly got great sound from it.

Cons: Nothing to speak of, build quality is OK but not great.

Other: Overall, great plug and play convenience, and a lot smaller than other external sound cards out there. Oh, and the quality was as good as my regular sound card!

Pros: Really works plug&play on my Windows XP SP2. Very simple. Build quality is ok. Sound quality is ok.

Cons: Since no manual or additional software was included, I could not determine the 3D feature. Perhaps its a simply stereo enhancing, or only works on special games using something 3D related (which I could not test)

Other: Perfect as inexpensive usb soundcard for headsets.

  • Good for a secondary sound card.

Pros: Cheap. Good sound quality (I´m surprised whit it). Standard 3,5mm jack connectors. Easy to install, just direct plug & play with windows xp.

    Cons: None.

Other: If you don´t use skype and use another IP phone call system (voipbuster, for example...), you can attach a enlarger cable from usb or connect in front connectors and use a headphone set (phones + micro).

  • Preety good...

posted by rolmops on 14:10:47 G10T 23/10/2007 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It is cheap, easy to use and install (no drivers needed in windows xp, just plug and listen:-)) Sound quality is pretty good, not fantastic but better than I expected and good enough to replace my broken sound card in my old laptop (which is now a media center pc)

Cons: Build quality is really poor, but what do you expect for this incredibly low price :) The box says "drivers and manual included", they are not, but you don't need them anyway...

Other: Overall, you get a decent product for a ridiculous price, I do not regret buying this!

  • Crud sound!

posted by Hemingray on 23:30:56 G10T 25/10/2007 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Plug & Play in XP, easy to use Does work with USB 1.1 just fine

Cons: Sound is HORRIBLY littered with noise. Tried with an MP3 and could BARELY make out the music from the noise. Flimsy case. Mine is assembled loosely, connecting/disconnecting strain is placed more on the board. No microphone volume controls, Mic port appears not to work for me. Despite the box saying a driver CD is included, there wasn't one.

Other: Good I guess if you need an emergency replacement card until you can get a new one, the price is okay though. Could do with a better case design, and maybe a better chipset (or some method of clearing up the annoying static noises.

  • Works but bad hum from Mic

posted by lickety on 18:02:33 G11T 05/11/2007 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It was plug and play on XP on two notebooks - nothing to do but plug it in. When output audio happens green light on unit comes on. You can't go past the price.

Cons: Can't use this for the Mic capability - there is a constant hum. I'd imagine because the componentry is so close and compact it's picking up hiss noise from itself. Even with an extension usb cable it still had bad humming (input only) - so not from being close to the computer.

Other: Don't buy this if you want to use this for voice conferencing or podcasts.

  • Not too bad but....

posted by esquizo on 08:34:47 G11T 15/11/2007 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Easy to use and install in XP. Low price.

Cons: Build quality is really bad, the case doesn't fit well in my adapter. Oooppss!!! the box says "drivers and manual included", no cd in the box, no manual... Sound distorted, not too much but it's not the better quality sound

Other: If you need to replace a defective sound card in a laptop buy this. It makes its job...

posted by kjellemann on 03:18:09 G11T 17/11/2007 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - On windows XP its "plug and play" no drivers needed. - Good as a "poormans" soundcard for a week or two

Cons: - Build quality could be better

    - Sound wasn't that good

Other: At this price you will regret it if you don't buy one. Say you're soundcard broke down, this will come in handy.

Pros: -Really easy to use. -You can also configure programs to use different sound cards. -Nice sound.

    Cons: -None for it's use.

Other: Get it either for a fast replacement if your sound card dies or to use it in places where the PC doesn't have one.

  • quiet okay for the price

posted by martinlm on 08:22:11 G1T 07/01/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -green blinking led for activity. Never seen that before on a sound card. -Extremely cheap. -Small -No hiss when not playing

Cons: -Small hiss when playing music files.

Other: I bought one because my onboard Dell laptop generates lots of irritating hiss. Very annoying if the music is on a low volume or no music is playing at all.

This little device's hasn't had that problem. But the sound quality when playing is not that good. I won't recommend it for permanent use.

Hey for the price it's a bargain.
