Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: works with windows mediaplayer and other tv players
Cons: the antenna plug is not a standar one.
Other: great to watch tv on my laptop
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The installation is very easy, its very easy too find the channels(not only tv channels, also radio stations). The remote worked almost right out of the box(when I put in a new battery). Its a very good dvb-t tuner!
Cons: The antenna cable is not so very long so it's hard to find the channels in my lazy chair, but if I hold it in the right position(on my right knee) I can get all the channels available in the Netherlands(channel 1,2,3 and 1 local channel).
Other: It's an easy to use, good quality dvb-t tuner wich is easy to instal and very easy to use.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Works well. A useful add-on for your computer. Great picture quality (if the weather is calm). Apart from just viewing TV, you can digitally record without any quality loss, time-shift, etc. You can record multiple channels at the same time (at least in Kaffeine, don't know about the shipped software). Works in Linux.
Cons: You're dependent on a small antenna for signal reception. In my place, when the weather is windy, hickups occur. During storms, hickups are so frequent that the device becomes unusable.
The antenna cable is not very long.
Other: Purchasing this is risky: unless you test it with a borrowed DVB-T stick first, you don't know whether reception will be good enough at your place to get it to work. However, it's very cheap at under $20, so even if reception is not good, it's no big loss.

Pros: - low power consumption - good quality TV - easy to use (not the remote)
Cons: - not supported by linux (Intel CE9500)
- remote control doesn't work
Other: good for windows, but I bought it for linux
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -Good software -Quick setup -Tiny and lightweight
Cons: -Odd connector
-Doesn't work in NZ
-The antenna is as low gain as it looks
Other: I bought this on a gamble that I would work on the NZ Freeview network, It appears that it doesn't I can only receive the radio stations. This of course is not the device's fault the software package is simple to setup and quick to learn. The remote works nicely and the whole kit is tiny. Not an Intel chip as another review notes it is in fact a EC168. Because of the relativity poor antenna you may have problems in heavily built up areas getting a signal

Pros: - The price. At todays $ rate this is a real bargain.
- Perfect picture.
- Teletekst function works great.
- Harddisk recording works great in very nice quality
- Comes with good working drivers, software in several languages, including Dutch.
Cons: - The antenna connector is very fragile.
- The antenna connector is not a standard (widely used) connector. This makes it hard to use another antenna
- The antenna is a bit soso, have to place the antenna next to the window to get any signal at all.
Other: if the reception of DVB-T is good in your area, buy this.

Pros: Set top boxes that do the same job as this sell in New Zealand for $300USD !!!
The reception quality is amazing.
Picks up all the Freeview|HD channels available, most in 720p, and a few others in 1080i
Cons: - Has a non standard aerial connector - I had to pay alomst 2/3 of the price of this thing just to get an adapter to use it with a normal aerial.
Not at all easy to setup in NZ but it DOES work perfectly with some H.264 codec tinkering and the use of DVBviewer software
Needs a reasonable fast CPU to decode the H.264 stream. My P4 3.0GHz struggles sometimes.
The included antenna just isnt strong enough to pick up *anything* in my area, and i couldn't live much closer to the transmitter without being under it.
Remote only seems to work with the software provided
Other: For this price its amazing. Buy one!

Pros: I am very happy with this little divice. It works as advertised and it gives a perfect picture on my 22 inch screen. Software is easy to use and there is even an remote control included! Used it as a gift to several people and noticed that the softwre included may vary. But all worket fine.
Cons: You have to place the antenna near the window to have a good reception,
Other: Good tuner for windows unfortuanatly not available for the Mac yet (prices of Mac dongles are more then double of this one!)
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Great signal, even indoors.
- Software is easy to use wirth alot of features
- Strong antenna, won't break easily.
- Strong magnet on antenna, will keep the antenna in place on metal surfaces.
- Remote is small but functional
- very light software, will run on slow laptops ( i use 900 mhz proccesor, eee pc 900 )
- Even at signal strengt 40% it keeps giving a steady clear picture.
Cons: - Usb receiver looks cheap because of plastic housing, but that's a cosmetic thing.
- Antenna cable is a bit short
- When installing drivers from the included cd the Usb receiver needs to be connected (!)
Other: I choose this one because of other positive DX reviews. It is also the cheapest on DX but i don't regret it. I am amazed by the picture it delivers, it's like High Definition. I receive full quality even when the signal is 40%, the software is also great. When first using this it will scan for 2 minutes and will show you all channels and radio stations it found, it can also record and the other usual functions you'd expect. To bad i live in the netherlands, because i can only watch the free to air channels, even through it also picks up the pay to view channels.
Great Picture
Amazingly cheap for this quality
Great for laptops
This product was tested on a
asus eee pc 900 running windows XP
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Fairly cheap for what it is, even with the current exchange rate for where I am.
- The build quality looks good, and if you can get a good reception, then you'll be able to watch high quality TV just about anywhere.
- Pretty easy to install.
Cons: - The software that came with the device isn't the greatest, but you can always find better software on the net, and for the price, you can't expect to get a high end software anyway.
- The antenna isn't the best, I struggle to get good reception in my room :(
Other: If your country has DVB-T and want to watch high quality TV on the computer, then get this :)
