Pros: Supports all of the major kind of cards Very light Quite small Comes with a short mini-USB cable Easy to travel
Cons: I have sometimes problems connecting it to my laptop. Windows just does not realize it's there. I have to change USB port to make it work. Speed is not the greatest, I have 9.8MB/sec on a MicroSD card known to do 10.6MB/sec.
Other: For the price you can't go wrong, however I have only tested the SD card slot. Hey, it's not expensive !
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very small Very Portable Very Easy to use Low Cost Fast
Cons: No cons.
Other: If your looking for something small you need to get this. great device. The USB cable is not attached to the device so it cannot break off and then you wouldn't be able to use it.

Pros: It works as a card reader. No more, no less.
Cons: A few days after I received it, the card reader simply stopped working. It was not detected by any computer I plugged it in to. I might have gotten a bad one, but it was a little frustrating.
Other: Great little card reader for the cost. I see these at retail stores for $3 more.

Pros: -Takes my SD cards (512mb,1GB,2GB), MS cards (MS pros with adapters 1GB,2GB,4GB) and CF cards (4GB). Didn't have others to test. -Pocket size good for travels. -Comes with its own miniUSB to USB cable for your convenience. This is my favourite part as this puts some distance between the hub and the USB port so that your cards will not be accidently mashed into the PC.
Cons: -Not a huge quality issue, might even be my own pickyness, but all the connectors (device is transparent for you to see inner connectors) don't line up properly. Makes it look like a dollar-store reject.
Other: -Exactly what I would expect for this price.

Pros: Small, sleek design. Cheap, but built well.
Cons: Doesn't seem to work with VIA 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controllers.
Other: It's a cute little card reader. I was disappointed to discover that it wouldn't work with the computer I bought it for. But it seems to work well with another computer I tried that has even older Intel USB Universal Host Controllers. Also works well with a newer computer I tried it with. Cheap and practical, but works well.

Pros: - Cheap! - Includes a USB cable for connecting to your computer - Supports most major memory card standards - Has an activity indicator light - Works with both Mac and PC
Cons: - Build quality seems a bit on the flimsy side, and it doesn't feel like anything in the hand. It is very light, while meaning it won't destroy your USB port if it falls off your desk still attached, it also gives an impression of a certain degree of unprofessionalism.
- It appears that the design originally sorta was going to have lights for the different card types when inserted. However, there are no other LEDs other than the power LED, which is also the activity indicator LED.
Other: This is a good buy. It's the cheapest multi card reader, supports multiple types of cards, and best of all, it seems reliable and works with different OSes. If you need a card reader to keep on your desk, this should be the one!

Pros: Works ,Came unharmed in the mail. Even Though I am Chinese I didn't need instructions to operate it. Feels unbreakable. Nice transparent cover and most of all it came with a usb connector. It was great and easy to connect came fully installed!
Cons: Didn't label which card goes in to which which makes it kind of confusing, but if you try an SD card it only fits in to its place and so does others. The Packaging inside the envelope was cheap could be better.
Other: Great and cheaper than Fry's!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: 1. Works with a bunch of memory media. Only tested a few. 2. Works with Vista Ultimate X64. 3. Light and very small.
Cons: 1. Only can read one chip at a time.
2. Pins in reader easily bent, have to be careful to put in cards gently.
2. Cheap plastic had a large crack in it, but it seems to still work so far. Not worth shipping back.
3. After prolonged use (>1Hr) the device gets very hot.
Other: Great portable card reader that can read all sorts of cards. Only use it to transfer information. Don't leave it constantly connected to a card, b/c it gets hot even if you are not using it.

Pros: - works with XP SP2 - its not heavy so good with travel - easily fits into pocket because of small size - color is black and it looks great - its see through
Cons: - it doesn't show which card goes into which slot so you have to kinda try everything out first
- its feels extremely plastic like its going to break anytime
- only one card can be used at a time
- not micro sd slot
Other: - get it!
- its not pricy
- its portable
- does its job perfectly only thought it can only support one card at a time
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - low cost - reads SDHC/ SD/mmc/ XD/ CF/ MS/ MSproduo - good build quality - activity light - small size
Cons: - the read and write speeds for sdhc are very slow. I have a class 6 card and it reads less than 1mb/s (it reads 5.8mb/s using another brand reader)
- the ports are not labelled
- my laptop keeps popping up a message saying that it can be used at a hig.her usb 2.0 speed, even though it doesn't matter which port I put it in
Other: If the read and write speeds for SDHC were faster this would be an incredible buy. For 4 bucks and change I am not complaining though!!
