  • Exellent product

Pros: Easy to use, no driver installation necessary, plug and play. In Windows XP it automaticly becomes the systems main audio device. Connectors are not too loose or too tight. Playback sound quality is good.

Cons: Main volume slider & record slider is only 2 steps, on or off. You can use the wave output slider to control the volume so it isn't a big limitation. Input sound has a lot of noise.

Other: Good for audio playback, less for audio recording.

Pros: Good function. It's very useful if you want to connect another speakers and you haven't more jack connectors or if you don't have jack connector. It's very small and easy to carry.

Cons: If you plug it, it becomes the principal audio system of the PC. Some times it fails. Block the PC and have to disconnect it from the USB port to make the PC works. I don't know if it's problem of my PC or not.

Other: I think it's a good way to have separate speakers and microphone.

  • Good USB SoundCard

Pros: *USB SoundCard, plug and play and ANY OS will detect it right away. It worked for me in Vista, XP, Ubuntu, Kurumin, Mandriva, SuSE and Windows 2000 without the need of ANY DRIVER at all.
*Useful for people that, for some reason, have a non-working onboard soundcard.
    *Good sound quality
    *CHEAP!!!

Cons: *Sound quality is only 'good'. The bass seems a little bit muffled and the mids are VERY poor. The highs are a little muffled too.
*Build quality could be better, but with some superglue it didn't come apart anymore.

Other: *good to have if your soundcard is broke, but don't expect too much from the sound quality, it's only ok.

Pros: Works great, just plug and play (literally in this case :). I tested it on two systems, one was notebook with windows vista and second ordinary desktop computer with windovs xp.

Cons: Build quality is not the best, but it could last for some time if you would not be too harsh to it.

Other: My has smd led instead of these shouwn on the pictures, but its minor difference in design, function is not affected.

Pros: I need a sound card since my onboard one wasn't working anymore, unknown reason.
I saw this, could resist and bought to try out.
It works flawless, it isn't a great sound card, but it installed without problems in both Windows XP 64-bit and Vista 64-bit.
It's very useful as a emergency sound card.
And it has a red light to tell if it's powered.

Cons: My USB sound card came with the normal green speaker jack but a yellow microphone. I thought it was weird but it works.
I bought a second one for a friend and his sound card came with the normal green/red jacks.

Other: It's a simple USB device for anyone needing a sound card, it's not the best quality but useful.

  • Very neat and handy gadget

Pros: Small, cheap and very easy to use. I use it whenever i want to use my headphone to listen to music. It is easier than switching cables and cheaper than a switch box. The sound quality is good enough for listening to music while working on your computer.

Cons: The plastic casing is not glued together very well. But you can easily fix that with a dot of glue. :-) The sound quality is not hifi, but that is probably not possible with such an usb gadget.

Other: Small and affordable. No reason _not to buy it. I will probably buy another one as a reserve audio card.

Pros: Doesn't require much technical knowledge to install (as it's USB)
This item works great under Ubuntu Linux 8.04. It was literally plug and play.
Sound quality is ok when finetuned (see cons below)
You can use this to get a dual soundcard system under Linux for allowing output of multiple sound streams at the same time (tested under Ubuntu Linux 8.04 with pulseaudio - use the program pavucontrol to send an audio stream to another device)

Cons: When I plugged in my headphones, the sound seemed awfully loud. Was easily fixed though by lowering the volume.
Sound quality might seem a bit degraded at first, because it's so loud. Try adapting the volume settings, and sound quality will be a lot better.

Other: It works fine under Linux. Quality seems decent. If you need a new sound card, or don't have one yet, you can't go wrong with this.

  • Easy to use, yet low quality sound.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - The usb soundcard is easy to use, just plug and play.
    - Windows xp and ubuntu compatible. (vista not tested)
    - The price, it is a very cheap item, yet can be extremely convenient to have.

Cons: - Sound quality is quite bad, it is good enhough to play games with, but the low quality is really noticable when listening to music.
    - Mine came with weird coloured jacks. Though not really a problem, it looks a bit unprofessional.

Other: For the price, it is really a good deal. But definatly don't think of it as a permanent solution when your normal soundcard has broken down.
