Pros: Works exactly as advertised.
Cons: None discovered yet [although installation might not work first time -- see below for suggested fix]
Other: Excellent price and value. Thanks DealExtreme.

Pros: - Nice price since it's a difficult cable to find. (I haven't found this cable for selling here in Brazil yet)
- It really has a built-in driver, so when I tested it along with Windows XP x64, Windows Vista x64 and MacOS 10.5 (Leopard), the driver was automatically installed.
- The cable is large enough to fit the space I made for the keybord and the computer.
- It got my Yamaha Keyboard (PSR-83, which is relatively old) to work with the newest music softwares.
Cons: - Not really a problem since most USB devices behaves like this, so if you buy it try to use it always plugged into the same USB Port to prevent multiple installations of the driver.
Other: I gave it five stars because it worked so well with the OSses I have here, made my keyboard new again, was easy to install, it's stylish (nice idea for the LEDs showing the IN and OUT commands), and most important, it was not as expensive as I thought it would be.

Pros: Price and convenience: it just works & is cheap as chips. I've not been able to get it to work on Linux, but both Windows XP and Apple OSX (older) work just fine. I've tested this on older and newer machines, several laptops and desktops and all bar the one little easily correctable glitch below worked flawlessly. Software integration with Fuity Loops and Reason worked as expected as well.
Cons: Only a little bump and more related to the PC (more properly the account) it was attached to: running XP an older IBM 'office' box with a non-administrator account: simple to fix though - you just need to be an Administrator to get it to work properly.
Other: Unbeatable if you need to ressurect some old midi hardware, or do not want to spring for a very big & expensive 'real' keyboard: I got mine at Cash Converter's for $80 (OK it's a Yamaha - and a 'short' one at that) and with this cable can make it sound like whatever the heck I want. Kids are loving it (why I got it in the first place) and work it out every day.

Pros: Very very cheap, in Brazil this cable can costs 4x or 5x more than here in DX. Works perfectly in PC and MAC i tested both and they transformed my keyboard to a super keyboard, you can use programs like LOGIC PRO, PRO TOOLS or anyone program. They will work perfecly. No drivers required, the built in software are in the cable, impressive!!! My keyboard is sensitive and the sensibility works perfectly!!!! Just amazing!!!
Cons: The cable must be used in the same usb port, if you use another usb of the computer, it will be instaled multiple drivers, but its not a problem.
Other: If you are looking for a external device jujst to useMIDI IN / OUT (like a C-MEDIA EXTERNAL or another external devices)buy first this cable, because with this you will transform your MIDI INSTRUMENT in the best instrument that you heard, because the computer libryries are amazing, have billions of sounds to emulate!!! Just buy it!!!

Pros: - Its very cheap, a yamaha or edirol costs almost $100
- It does not need a special driver
- It install smoothly in Vista (32-bit)
- it has cool leds that indicate activity, both in and out
Cons: - It could be made if better material, but at this price, i think you can not get any better
Other: - Best option to use in computers with no gameport, or that uses Vista (really does not need any drivers)

Pros: Great MIDI cable (input, anyways)
No real latency notice- it is a uniform latency max 100ms that you don't notice because its all the same (see other thoughts)
Nice flashy amber MIDI in LED
Bright blue MIDI out (no real out tested only the light)
Works with my lame $60 AUD ghetto keyboard!
Can change patches from my keyboard!
Can play chords! Most cables fail with chords!
Cons: I'm not sure it may be my keyboard but I can't send a tempo/clock signal.
Ok so there is some latency. Big Whoop. I think it makes it better.
Creates noise coming from my keyboard speakers. I turn the volume on the keyboard down, and I hear no noise. Connect MIDI cable, and BOOM. hissing. No prolem at the moment as I am using the computer as a synth. Also, this is a crappy keyboard, and it may happen with all cables due to shid quality of my keyboard. I dunno. This won't matter if you are controlling a HardSID 4U, as it has special stuff for this. It might matter for a MIDIbox SID, for example, as there is no interference blocker (that I can see) but you could just put a cap over the ins to ground and it might work...good luck!
Other: BUY IYT IF YOU NEED A MIDI IN! MAYBE NOT OUT THOUGH!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Great Price
- Both MIDI IN & OUT works with my Yamaha keyboard without any problem
- Installed smoothly on XP without any driver (see note below)
Cons: - I can clearly notice large latency. The only con I can think of.
Other: Worth the investment. Buy it at this price. The one from Yamaha is at least 4 times expensive that this.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: No mechanical problems. Connectors fit very well and don't slip. MIDI status LEDs bright enough to be usable, but not distracting. Lag is managable - I expect by adjusting priorities it can be minimized. Installs easily. I didn't have any device conflicts like the Logitech user, although I might have, since I planned at some point to install the QuickCam. So far, no crashes - no forced USB plug/unplugs; this is an improvement over my "old unstable" Mark of the Unicorn Fastlane 2x2.
Cons: Inconsistent in-out lag after several USB plug/unplugs. Restart solved this with no lag issues as long as USB stays in. All my testing was on XP SP2 all updated.
Other: Not a bad deal at the price I paid ($17.02). I would def buy another as I need them.

Pros: * Great price! * Plug and play - no driver needed * Works wonderfully with Synthesia * Works under XP * Long cable
Cons: - Build quality is a bit shoddy - Could use some detailed instructions Nothing else, really
Other: If you want to play Synthesia with your keyboard, this is all you need! It also should work just as well with music editing software.

Pros: This item worked perfectly for use with an ancient casio keyboard, exactly what I needed. You just plug it in, and you've got a midi device. Excellent for use with fruityloops or other studio software.
Cons: None that I can find, works as expected, exactly what I needed at the time, still in use as of now.
Other: Buy this. Dont even think about it. Buy it. It works with vista, and is compatible with any midi device I've used with it. The price is unbeatable, and it couldnt be easier to use. If you have an older midi setup you want to migrate to a new computer, this is for you.
