What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Pros: Doesn't seem to use too much power
Gets a GPRS signal anywhere
If you have the patience and the unlimited GPRS data plan (which is cheap these days), it will take you there for a third the cost of one of those UMTS modems. And without being tied to the carrier for a year.
Cons: Software a bit bulky. I like things you can fire up and go.
You'll have to enter the PIN number for your SIM every time you start the PC. (Not so bad really)
Could have used the bendable semirigid USB cable that came with the previous Solomon brand modem this seems based on.
Other: You only have GPRS, you need a data modem, get this and don't waste your cash on UMTS unless you need it. The phone call socket on the side is a nice bonus, but I have a phone for that (which curiously takes the headset that the modem came provided with)

Pros: En: Easy to use. Very useful for mobile internet users, send /receive mail, webs, according to GPRS Network (Spain), the speed is enough for it. Not for downloading videos, MP3 or big archives, is slow. Sp: Facil de usar, util para usuarios de internet movil, navegar o mandar mensajes. Tal y como funciona la red GPRS en España, es suficiente. No para videos o archivos pesados, es lento.
Cons: EN: The software suplied is only in english, not in spanish, but is not very difficult working with it. Insert the sim card carefully, unill you get it working. First time, I insert it very deep, and it does not work. SP:El sofware que trae no esta en español, auqnue no es dificil de manejar. Cuidado al meter la sim, si la metes demasiado profunda no funciona, hay que sacarla un poco para que funcione.
Other: EN: Great buy. I recommended it. Sp: Buena compra. Lo recomiendo.

Pros: This is actually a BenQ M32 GSM/GPRS Wireless module(Ref: http://www.sure-electronics.net/rf,audio/GP-GC006-pdf.pdf )
It's is the cheapest GSM module I've ever seen.
Simple to use, just use the AT Commands as discibed from BenQ ( http://www.portech.com.tw/data/BenQ%20M23%20AT.pdf )
And you are ready
Cons: There is no extention USB cable supplied with this, so if you have a laptop it may be placed so that the USB dongle or USB port can be damaged.
Other: Buy this, it is the cheapest GSM module around.

Pros: Work very well... It's a great product for me.
Trabaja muy bien y no tengo inconvenientes.
Cons: Poor quality building but is fine for me.
La calidad de construcción es algo pobre pero aceptable para mí.
Other: Good deal if you want play with some circuits.
Es uan gran compra si te gusta jugar con los circuitos.

Pros: I have modded this gprs module for TTL usage by removing the usb to serial chip and connecting wires straight to the pcb. The module seems to have an IMEI different from 000000 but not sure if unique, check IMEI using: AT+CGSN
GPRS is very easy to use, just send
AT+CGATT=1 (Attach to gprs network, power consumption rises)
AT+CGDATA="PPP" (Open ppp session)
Now start pppd and your connection is up and running.
Send sms is easy too:
AT+CMGS="0123456789"
type message, end with ctrl+z
Cons: None that I have found, maybe it has no built in tcp stack but this is obvious seeing the normal application. Also it does not do 3g or edge but this is clearly stated in the description.
Other: Good gsm module for using with embedded projects. Most cell phones nowadays do tethering so I'm not sure how useful it is to just use it with a computer.

Pros: Fast installation
Cons: Low quality build, the cover that you need to remove to enter the simcard doesn't seem to fit very well. You need to try a few times to make it fit correct. The device looks like it would fall in pieces when being dropped. I am running win xp on my laptop, altough the installation from the software went fast, the software crashed quite often. Especially when trying to make a call. It took very long to get a data connection and this was very slow. I tried the device with 2 simcards from different providers, both had slow data connection
Other: The product is good if you want to experiment. Or if you use this to send/receive text messages only. I would not advise it for data connections

Pros: o This GPRS modem can be used to connect directly to a PIC microcontroller's TTL level (E)UART after some simple modifcations o Good build quality o Well documented Benq M32 chipset o No problems registering on network and working with an Amaysim (Optus reseller) SIM card (Australia)
Cons: o Nothing really stands out as a con.
Other: o An inexpensive GPRS modem for use with microcontrollers o Also functions as intended (at least for sending SMS text messages and internet browsing) plugged into the USB port of a netbook to laptop computer :-)
