USB2.0 SIM Card Reader

Pros: Small, easy to use, easy to connect to your pc. Ideal for SIMcard back ups.

Other: Great item for cheap price!

Someone said that this reader melted their sim card... seemed pretty funny to me. Warm to the touch.

Pros: Read and write to all my SIM cards(EU) for number an messages On the old one(2000y)even recovered deleted messages Have an informative blue led -for check is it OK. Work's well on it's own and other software.

Cons: Can't make a "twin" copy newer SIM cards

Other: As a SIM reader it does the job.

Pros: Worked with all SIMs that I have handy (list below). Build quality is not perfect but acceptable.

Cons: Software is tricky to install (not obivious that USB-RS232 driver must be installed separately). Too many errors during data exchange with SIM card (not sure if it is buggy software or my unit is somewhat faulty). It can read SMS storage of card 3-4 times without errors, and report error on about 50% next time.

Other: Useful for ocassional SIM backups. First time I was able to unload internal SMS storage of my phone and save all messages to text file (using several SIM's as carrier). ;) All programs that works with my phone support phonebook only, but not phone's SMS storage.

Pros: - You can backup your contacts
- Backup SMS messages
- Put certain types of ringtones on certain phones!!!
- Put certain "operator logos" on certain phones - UNTESTED
- Backed up contacts from deactivated tracfones USA: Motorola C139, Nokia 1100b
- Was able to see text messages on the C139, not sure about 1100b
- Can combine multiple address books [manually]
- Screw with your friends! You can put a message on your phone that says it's from ANY NUMBER and have ANY MESSAGE! Be responsible with this though! ;)

Cons: - Didn't work with Windows Server 2003, only XP
- No readme on the CD that I can see but figured stuff out with another reviewer's help

Other: It's really cool that I was able to do what I did with this product and it cost SO little. People break and loose SIM cards all the time. Why spend hours figuring out who you had on your phone? Just spend a couple bucks and pick one of these up.

Pros: It's cheap and works well, but the most important thing for us is: this device can be used with any SIM cloning software (to make "multi-sims"). We successfully used this device with SimScan and Voron programs.
Build quality is good. Also device is beautiful and stylish.

Cons: Except for driver installation difficulties, I cannot find other cons. Anyway, for sim scanning you only need to install virtual COM-port driver. Once you've done, you can use any software applicable for this task.

Other: Cheap, useful and beautiful reader, great for SIM cloning tasks.

Pros: Looks to be a useful tool for the price and the simplicity.

Cons: Unfortunatly I haven't been able to use this device yet. Whenever I download the disc it installs a virus that screws up my computer and makes it impossible to use the device. I then spend hours cleaning my hard drive. So be careful, it looks from reading other reviews that not all the discs contain the virus.

Other: Be Careful!

Pros: No external damage, my SIM card did appear to fit. Software loaded into Vista. Appears to have many options and settings to "play" with but does assme you know what you are doing.

Cons: Never could get it to work. Perhaps I don't know enough about SIMS. I only have one from ATT to try. Simply couldn't read the card. The novice will need more documentation or experience.

Other: Crap shoot... if you know a lot about it, perhaps ou can make it work. I don't believe is was broke, just not automatic...

Pros: This simple item will allow you to access and modify your SIM card data. For example, I used it to backup my phone address book, because my phone don't have an USB connection.

Cons: I succeed in the installation of the required drivers on Windows 7 only after some hours of attempts and I already forgot how I did, because I didn't understand how I achieved this result.

Other: I recommend this item only to people who really knows how to use a computer, because the installation of the drivers could be a big problem for many.

Pros: Appearance, equipment and packing corresponds to the photos DealExtreme.
Functioning conforms to expectations.
Drivers for PL 2032 - Emulator COM port for the bus USB, I have already been installed in my computer, so I can not say anything about the complexity of installing the drivers.
Reader "SIM Card Reader" recognized by all programs to edit / copy the contents of SIM cards.
Considered Beeline Card received in 2001 (ten years ago), the new SIM card of 2011 Beeline, MTS and Megafon cards.
All contacts, dialed and received calls, and a list of SMS stored on the card, I quietly saved to a file on your computer.

The software that came with the SIM Card Reader - very basic, and creates a feeling of "I can only show that that the reader works - Leave me alone. "
On the circuit board devices are two places for LEDs, one soldered, is second to none - it would be nice if it was soldered and blinking when it is read or write to the SIM.

Other: Thing is necessary for those who work with clients sim card , or periodically changes the SIM card, for example, when changing operators.
